Currently watching Connor Metcalf for St Pauli, he has been good for them in recemt weeks and has been a regular starter. They are 1 nil up so far, a win or a draw will see them promoted to the Bundeliga 1

Noticed yesterday that for MV Valadon and Bos were on the team sheet. Both former City Youth players. Bos noted that the shift to Casey Fields meant that he was unable to continue with MC.

I don't resile from the opinion that the move to Casey Fields is a significant factor in the departures of both players and staff from City, and no little part in the steady drift away of support for the club in general.

Interestingly I was down in Fountain Gate on Sunday visiting the mother in law and saw a young Indian boy maybe 10 yo wearing a Melbourne City jersey whilst shopping with his family. They might actually be making some inroads into support in the south eastern suburbs. I play Churches Leagues and I know that Berwick Chuches has been doing a lot with City with the juniors especially

Des Buckingham's Oxford United play Bolton Wanderers in the League 1 Play-off Final at Wembley on 18th May. The winner will be in the Championship next season.

I wish Des the best of luck in every game apart from this one where we absolutely paste his team into the Wembley turf.

Painful though it is for you my friend, Oxford did the deed 2-0. and will be in the Championship next season. I remember them as Headington United in the old Southern League, and with my team still wallowing in the National League South I feel some of your pain!

They were truly shithouses for 90 minutes, they did absolutely the right thing to win the game! Well done Des

Paddy K just casually managing a bunch of the A-Leagues best to a big win over Newcastle.

The man can coach and it’s a shocking call not to sign him instead of Vidmar.

I stopped going to these matches years ago. Don't think they mean much. Newcastle's youth team looked very raw.

However, that said, overlooking PK and preferring Vidmar looks to be another dubious call by Petrillo.

Hoffman went on mauk and garrucios podcast and spoke about a few stories from the Melbourne heart days if anyone is interested

URL?

Did anyone go to the Allstars matches last night?

Can't see how a visit to Australia within a week of the EPL season finishing can do any good to either Spurs or Newcastle, except for the money they rake in.

This perplexes me. They may be young but there are players in the same age bracket that do get first team selection. My take is that none of them is likely to be playing EPL level in 3 years time. They showed nothing even though it is one of the few opportunities that they are going to get to be selected for the first team.

Joey Barton interviews Dukes.

Joey Barton is the last person I'd imagine starting a podcast.

Having heard him speak he’s a highly intelligent man so I’m not surprised.

What is surprising is why such an intelligent guy was such a thug on the field

Highly competitive, some people resort to dirty tactics or just get frustrated and angry sometimes. I wouldn't be surprised if there was 'substance abuse' involved as well, didn't he go straight from the pub to a game a few times?

Harry Kewell been sacked by Yokohama f Marino's. Can't take a trick can he? Maybe he's one of those champion players who can never become a good coach/manager. It actually occurs a lot in sport

Thinking the same thing myself. I prefer defenders as coaches/managers rather than attackers and although there are a few successful managers that were attackers, they get outnumbered by defenders.
