The poorest form of the night... A bunch of MV's 'quality supporters' that felt like it was fair to stand near the gate at the end of the game yelling "f*** off City", including at kids.

It just went to show why I never supported MV and even after tonight's result, very happy with my decision to follow our club.

Tbh our fans wernt any better reacting to those cunts up in level 2 and throwing bottles at them which hit innocent by standers. Went all down hill after our brilliant pre-game display which was the best display we've ever done imo. Brilliant stuff being right in the middle of it, but fuck me went way downhill after we conceaded the first. Overall, shit night for a shit season. Changes must be made asap and the right appointments must chosen. And any one have news on all 3 injuries?

Just in terms of the game and not downplaying the need for major changes and a clearout:

- we were fuckin unlucky to not get back into the game, I mean how many missed shots, half chances etc... they had a a couple of shots and got 3 goals

- Novillo and Mooy walking off the pitch was game over

- I though the boys fought hard

- I thought the bay was rocking, but as always some immature people will start shit like the dickheads on level 2

- and fuck the players for not coming all the way to see us, what a fucken insult

Overall, a night of pain and agony, but we will come back stronger, both on and off the pitch.

For me that was painful. Never looked liked anywhere near the pace of the game. Even if we pinched a goal at 2:0 don't think the end result would of altered. Having said that the blokes put in decent shift, we didn't fail for lack of effort it was more skill and technique.

The active end tonight was superb. I think it's now a good base to build from in coming seasons.

We were lucky to make it but luck can carry only so far. We have a decent core we just need to develop all the lines and bring in some genuine talent.

Gutted but not embarrassed.

We defintely weren't woeful! We played like a sixth position team and we did well to get there. Seriously, as much as l hate the tards they killed it this year. Focus on the postive things about tonight (the clear chances). Time to rebuild and will no doubt be taking out my membership for next season.

Come on dude you're too harsh. They did thank the fans active end, yet everyone fucked off well before they even came to thank the fans.

Victorys finishing was clinical. We were not. Simples.

Don't forget that our defense was terrible too

True, but we created enough opportunities to score at least one goal imo (especially earlier on in the second half)

Just seems to me every time the visitors got a goal it was due to really good ball movement compared to us were oir chances just sort of happened or were from free kicks.

Also mooy couldn't cross for shit tonight which didn't help.

Pretty gutted with that loss.

I don't always always agree with Silva10, but I agree with him about this match. It was very much a matter of taking chances. I won't dig up too many stats or facts, but City had more shots than victory, including more shots inside the box. Victory was just clinical and got a higher % of shots on target, and converted shots on target into goals (again with a high conversion rate).

Being wasteful in front of goal, and being ravaged by injury, losing Mooy, Novillo and Williams before 60 minutes, made the challenge just too much for City. And sadly the two things which undid City, profligate finishing and numerous injuries, are a pretty accurate reflection of what held back Melbourne City's season overall as well.

The lads showed some impressive effort, especially in the second half. Overall though it was too much for them, and I think the likes of Dugandzic, Mauk and Retre being our go-to depth players when Williams, Mooy and Novillo got injured highlights that the squad's depth was very thin. Too many important players struck down by injury, and too little depth to replace them. The sad fact as well is that victory probably have the best squad this season, with 2 of their salary cap Visa players, Khalfallah and Finkler, being better than our 2 marquees, and I'm pretty sure victory's squad will carry them on to win the GF, just as their team only suffered 4 losses over the whole regular A-League season (with City thankfully being 1 of the 4 teams to beat them, and actually the first team to knock them over and beat them this season).

All up there's a bit to work with in Melbourne City's team, but at the same time Melbourne City could use a pretty good shakeup over the off-season, to make this team not semi-finalists but grand finalists or better.

Now it's up to CFG to bring about the positive changes Melbourne City needs. And I'm sure CFG will deliver on the changes Melbourne City needs for next season, and the changes will be a breath of fresh air.

This was MV's year. It started from a far better base than us, with a couple of key signings added for good measure to strengthen them.

We can only hope we build on this season and can become a consistent performer.

I must say though that we can only hope that Koren can move on and we can find another marquee. He just hasn't offered us enough.

I was there with my nine year old quietly watching the game. We had beers thrown at us by supporters behind us after the second goal. That, along with a fight in the seats in front of us was enough to scare my son into wanting to go home at half time. I've been to games involving every opposition in the competition, never seen a more disgusting pack of animals than MV. Even their own kids were scared and crying.

Fight between who?

Disappointing loss, the fact we didn't fall in a heap after half time and came out and had a crack at them was heartening, but by then the damage was done and the loss of our main attacking threats through injury certainly didn't help. Thought our substitutions demonstrated the woeful lack of depth in the squad which hopefully gets sorted out in the off season.

Also, hate Etihad as a venue for football. Was right on the fence tonight but still felt like I was 200 metres away from the game.

Fight between who? I didn't see what started it but there was a MV bloke and a guy in a Heart scarf going at it while the MV guys kids was cowering underneath them. Me and the guy beside had to pull them apart to get the kid out.

Brought my wife to her first derby tonight; told me on the way home she'll never go to another match involving victory and their wonderful supporters. She didn't believe me going on about them for the last several years until she saw them in action tonight.

Also, that 'Ladies and Gentlemen - and Melbourne City supporters' announcement of the crowd total was pissweak from their 'club'.

Lax defending for the opening 2 goals, missed goals that really should have been scored and injuries to key players meant it was always going to be hard to recover.

Can't fault the endeavour of the team though, they did have a crack. Also, can't really blame JVS for the loss tonight as we weren't outplayed and had good chances.

It was a sad fact, however, that we had both our marquee players on the pitch in their preferred positions for the full 90 and they had very little impact on the game.

Finally, the tards along with a fair proportion of their supporters really are arrogant scum. Hopefully they lose controversially next Sunday.

Simply not good enough when and where it counted. Midfield was unsighted. Our wing backs Germano and Huge Aliens too slow again and outpaced by Barbaboutsos and Kefala. Hope for some changes to our playing roster for 2016. Archie Thompson is a cunt.

I love the North Terrace banner: "Football In Australia Is In The Wrong Hands". Lol they made your club you fucktards! Melburnians was mental up until the goal. the pregame display was simply awesome! Unfortunately as soon as we conceded it was obvious who the derby specialists were and it died out :/

Now. If we had worn our stripes we would have won 4-0.

Victory supporters are a disgrace.

Why when they had home ground advantage was "Go City" plastered all up our end? FFA feel good?

Season finally over. This one has dragged.

Firstly, thank you to the Visitors for demonstrating to CFG why an aspiration to 'play in the finals' will guarantee mediocrity. There is a gulf between these 2 teams that has widened markedly this season. We're scored 3 goals in 4 games and conceded 11. 'Mr 33%' has coached the team to a 25% record against the best team in the league who will only get better next season.

Positives:

We weren't humiliated

Jaliens made FBK into Mr Invisible tonight and was my MOTM for us

Negatives:

This game encapsulated our season, defence pulled out of shape with a makeshift LB

A forward line that created plenty of chance but was impotent all night

A marquee that provided nearly nothing

A weak bench

JVS

Our finishing position flattered to deceive and we should not be happy with another poor season. Hopefully we have a list clean out and a new coach in the off-season
