  1. imagine booing aloisi out the door during the melbourne heart era only to be out-coached by him throughout the season and perhaps in this grand final
  2. Nah they don't. Farming young talent after acquiring the club for peanuts Bik biznis down undah
  3. Where's the PK that won the double last season? was that just a fluke using mobaert's template and now other coaches have caught up to him or has he just lost his way of making bad decisions this season
  4. Wonder how he fits within the salary cap, or have I once again missed out on the changes of the rules recently? Like if they’ve raised the cap or additional players can be signed outside of it?
  5. fouled for 'blocking' a defender during the set piece, but the matildas stood their ground, arms by their side and did not move to prevent a swedish defender from making a run to defend the freekick. It was a really scandalous and dogshit referee call and did not bother utilising the VAR. The olympic referees have been extremely poor and should go back to grass root leagues
  6. welcome to the studies involved in the degree of sport management you have a 95% chance of not finding a full time and financially efficient job with this niche course Regards, former sport management graduate, who is doing a masters in something completely different
  7. And they have the audacity to claim melbourne is the sporting capital of the world when they can only provide one stadium to accommodate three professional clubs.... then you have the NSW clubs who are all able to play games without intersecting each other whilst they have stadium redevelopments Joke of a state and joke of a league
  8. Whatever happened to their Geelong venue? too expensive?
  9. Is it just me or is it just that nothing came from the mouth of Club's staff that they are welcoming the idea to play home games in a dandenong stadium that doesn't exist? I see it as though the government/council are gambling on the prospect of trying to make the idea of a stadium in Dandenong an attraction and to lure City to play A-League games over there, whether consistently or once a blue moon while they try to accommodate other events and sports to use the venue? Politicians behind team 11 pushed so hard for a license and now they want to leech onto City's presence because of their relocation to Casey Fields. It's like as if people have been putting words into the clubs mouth and conceded that the club overall will move away from AAMI Park without hearing a peep from them about this whole commotion.
  10. It's because he's one of the Heart OG's that took up this award during this majestic season isn't it Poetic
  11. The Grand Final album is online fyi
  12. Wednesday, 28 April 2010 Whittlesea Zebras v Heart Epping Stadium The Earliest photo album documented
  13. Alright, now that we had our finals fun and out of the way, when does the a-league season start?
  14. I haven't paid much attention to the antics and politics of women's football, what did she get up to?
  15. I can only think that florin would be out the door so Leckie can take the international marquee spot whilst jmac takes the Aussie marquee spot?… is jmac already an Aussie marque for the club? I’m out of the loop with the contract signings
  16. I'll be there in the stands to photograph and document the disappointment in everyone's faces for thinking we've had it in the bag already.
  17. Well my perception with this whole thing about wearing merchandise in public, you'd just have to be prepared with the higher probability of negative confrontation over a positive reception. The brand/outreach from Melbourne City is quite small so you're usually either going to be met with confusion or hostility from rival football codes and victory supporters, who to be fair are just like roaches in hiding, and this only gives them an excuse to vent themselves or trigger their identity crisis of whether or not to live up to their fantasies of hardcore football rivalries you see in south america and in Europe. But I don't think a lot of people will care and nothing will really happen on your train ride
  18. you're right, and it's quite dogshit too. Why cant we just have a tri color combo like Marinos or Hamburg ffs https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/City_Football_Group#New_York_City_FC
  19. I think it's more going back to basics of what you can objectively see as a club that is Melbourne City, the competition and how its presented. Sharing a stadium with victory and now western united is pretty detrimental to differentiate yourself for new fans to invest in you. I also personally think the all sky blue as a home kit to identify yourself as is also a mistake, as people arent that stupid to see massive correlation to the city football group alignment and this can be off putting. Unfair to see other cfg owned clubs hold onto their original club colours before they rebranded. Always thought a tri-colour of red blue and white will have a distinguishing aesthetic look in comparison to the rest of the competition. Fans persist to carry the red colour, with the red cross sticking out on the club logo but its not embraced by the club itself at home games. So there is a cultural differentiation between fan and club staff Can't look at why fans or members arent 'coming back' but look for the question of how to get new members in. it's always been that case with this club since day dot. The growth of the clubs fanbase has stagnated and I see it as a mix of the club's structure and vision of how they present themselves and also how the league its is managed and run
  20. Kisnorbo did his acl at a charity game (socceroos v police) before south melbourne's npl game today
