He has stated that he want to be given the chance to break into the starting 11, if he goes to Victory he will not be first choice but rather a good impact player..

Given JK has retired the decision for JM is simple.. He would be fighting with Gamiro for that starting spot..

If he does sign with us, our attack could be

Novillo, Mclaren, Gamiro.

Ramsay, Williams, Dugandzic

Still reliving the golden years... Don't worry I am sure that our scouts will unearth another batch of players that will make us relive those wonder years.

Can't see why this guy has to come to a Melbourne team. You'd have to think that Pissants and bogans would be strong contenders, for instance.

his family connections would be why he's here now, but young men aren't going to let stuff like that influence them when it comes to signing.

I believe this was the worst decision he could have made, poorly advised and in the end he has gone to a club clearly on the down, with an ageing list of players and a coach who carries the worst coaching record in the A-league... How JA got the job in the 1st place was unbelievable...

Not to mention the clubs financial issues.. He better hope Broich doesn't get injured otherwise this could be a real disaster for Jamie..

Tbf it's not a completely stupid decision.

The reason he is leaving Perth is because he wants to start games. That's guaranteed at Brisbane, while with us he would be fighting it our with Novillo, Gameiro, Garuccio, Williams, Kuzmanovski and a VISA player. Victory would be just as hard. For all the arguments saying its better to have to earn your spot in a good side, its easy to see from McLarens point of view that after a season where he probably did earn a starting spot but was never given it he'd prefer to take the option which actually has him as an automatic starter.

I also imagine both Melbourne clubs salary caps are tighter than Brisbanes, so while the prospect of not getting paid is greater at Brisbane it's a bigger paycheck when it does come through.

The worst news of all this is that it probably rules Brisbane out as a suitor for David Williams, making us all the more likely to be stuck with him for another season.

No competition with Williams cause he's shit. The rest of those players play predominantly on the wing so MacLaren could have come in and been number one striker. Of course depending if JVS saw it like this.

Baffling decision. Not only does he have Aloisi as a coach but he may not even get paid next week. He needs to grow taller that Josh Kennedy to reach any of the balls Aloisi will instruct the team to lob at him.

New Brisbane striker Jamie Maclaren has revealed coach John Aloisi and his young squad were the two reasons which prompted him to reject rival offers and sign with the Roar.

"John was a big factor," Maclaren said this morning after completing his first training session with the Roar after inking a two-year deal at the weekend.
