Jun
Blue Moon that city use as their anthem works really well especially how it says "without a dream in my heart" Could be worth using for our own. Also love this for the derby "Hark now here/The City sing/Victory run away/And we will fight forever more/Because of derby day/We are City/Super City/We are City from AAMI Park/Oh City City/The only team to come from Melbourne. How dare you.
drewmelbcity
I don't understand how fans are begrudged towards the City Group because they make changes that seem to be making "Heart" irrelevant, yet when fans still have opportunity to help the heart legacy live on they are dismissing any mention of the former name (eg. no more yarraside, saying no to the name the heartlands or that heart should not be in the new name)

I can understand completely why Yarraside don't want their name used again, which is fair enough, but if a good name comes up that happens to have 'heart' in it (such as The Heartland), then so be it. Just because Yarraside don't want their name used because they feel that Melbourne Heart no longer exists, doesn't mean that the new active group can't acknowledge the past and the fact that Melbourne City isn't a new team and is in fact still the same. I would have thought that most people that will be in the new active group were present in the last few seasons as well, which can only mean that they believe that Melbourne City isn't a new entity and is in fact simply a new and improved Melbourne Heart. And if that is a fair assumption, then I would encourage our new name to have some sort of acknowledgement of our past, i.e. have heart in the name. And looking over all of the suggestions, The Heartland is my favourite. I've also realised that I can't stand anything with Ultras, crew or boys at the end. Just makes us sound amateurish IMO.
Tbitm
I see the hearts as a football club, not a supporter group. I plan on calling them the hearts forever and leaving on the legacy that way. I guess in a similar way some Brisbane lions fans from Melbourne still call them fitzroy or western bulldogs fans that still refer to their club as footscray. Besides, I'd rather incorporate the Yarra and carry on that legacy with the active end.
drewmelbcity
The Heartlands is a beauty, but in saying that I have a little one which takes up most of my time and therefor can't give time to help the new active supporter group meaning what I have to say probably has little relevance even though I own a active membership and have for the last four seasons

Red or Dead
I like "Heartland" too! And it's kind of a 'place' as someone suggested that it should be based on a place! I'd also consider: - Heart City - Heart Precinct - and we make the Precinct Hotel @60 Swan St 'our' pub pre-game!

elieanid
I personally like the idea of naming ourselves along the lines of a 'place' rather than a 'group' if that makes any sense. In a similar vein to Jimmy I'd had 'The Heartland'/'The Heart Land' jump into my head, which you could also shorten to THL as some seem to like to do with Active Support groups. I second that, Heartland sounds good to me!

carlings
-City's Fanatics -Southern End Fanatics Fanatics is a travel group Hardly. They're like Contiki and top deck as they offer travel packages to events like Pamplona and La Tomatina. They also go to a lot of sporting events like Wimbledon and Rugby. So yes I would call them a travel organisation who specialise in sports also.

Dearg is bán
I quite like The Heartland. Simply using 'The Heart' was one that occurred to me too (as well as a few others it seems), and I think it would be good to include a reference to Heart, but this does come down to what someone mentioned about whether we want the new group to be more of a Melbourne City group or a continuation of sorts of the last few years. Personally I'd rather it be more of a continuation, using red & white (either predominantly or with the new home colours), keeping some chants (e.g. 'We are Melbourne...', 'You are in my heart...'), and, ideally, keeping some banners as well. As we all know, a lot of people have built up a strong connection with these and I think we have the opportunity to take up where Yarraside left off, continue their great work, and support our club in the most positive way possible. FWIW, here was the list I had after a little bit of brainstorming: Heart of Melbourne The Heart 1847 (year Melbourne was given city status) The Stockade Melburnians The 1847 Brigade The Red Cross (a fairly obvious issue with this one) 1847 Crew Some better than others obviously, but thought I might as well share them anyway. Torn Asunder
How about an acronym ... could be good for chants Like OCOH Group - Our City One Heart or The MCG - The Melbourne City Group ... that would stir things up
