We are going to get destroyed by victory in round 1...

belaguttman
1 hour ago, Mark77 said: Melbourne City well beaten by Western United Today. Final Score WU 2 to MC Nil. That continues our pre-season tradition against WU. We've played 2 A-League teams for our pre-season preparation to date; there's at least one other to come. We've lost them both: The first, a Cup game against Perth, saw us lose control of the game from a winning dominant position and then concede a succession of goals until we lost 4-5 The second, against WU, we lost in the usual fashion; dominate possession; unable to break down the opponent, concede on a counter-attack. Yes, it's pre-season, young players and all that, but the manner of the losses shows no progression from last season: the same frailties, conceding in the same manner. It'll be a long season.
Leame_Citeh
3 of our 'best' players are so unreliable. We have no squad depth with nabbout, lecks, and tilio being unavailable all the time.

Mark77
City with 3 to 1 win over Auckland FC. Game in Melbourne but obviously not open to the public. Nabbout and Tilio played. Scorers Nabbout, Talbot and Memeti.

Leame_Citeh
Seems fishy 🤔 Allegedly Talbot scored. The game definitely didn't happen 1

With the less successful men's comp then the woman's comp needs to go. It's had enough time to stand on its own 2 feet and if it can't then that's business. I think a stronger youth comp being showcased on match day would be better and more viable anyway.

moops
Didn't he play most of the season with an injury, that's what you get when you continue to play players with injuries, they end up being worse long term ones. It seems to have been a thing under Rado, multiple players playing injured.

My point is that the w league has been supported by the men's during their development, as they should have been, but now it is time they stand on their own two feet. If they can't then the players and or admin should be paid less to put the w-league into the black. As I alluded to in the prior post, men's youth development should be prioritised across the nation.
