The reason they get an entire end is because they fill it.7 points

Being a referee (with state level qualifications) I would say the offside was benefit of the doubt. Was Berisha in a offside position? Yes. Was he involved in play? Yes. Was he between the ball and the defender (Muscat)? No. If the linesman gave it offside, Beath should agree with that decision without having to look at the big screen. If the linesman didn't put his flag up then the same goes, Beath should agree without having to look at the big screen. BUT. We should not be complaining about the offside. If we can't hold a lead for the last 15 minutes then whats the point of even turning up to play? Thats the real problem, not the refs.6 points

Currently sitting in my backyard in a blowup pool drinking beers, eating cheezles and watching match day Saturday. I do not regret my decision not to go tonight.6 points

Still think its offside. If you are forced into playing a ball to cover a player in an offside position then they are clearly interfering with play.5 points

Yeah you know what? At least we looked a bit better. Jacobsen plays out the match and maybe we hang on. Anyway I'd given up on the season a month ago, just want the club to stop going backwards.4 points

This is just a joke - beyond a joke!! Chris Beath is a disgrace. Two shocking decisions and now turned the game in to high farce. How the fuck do the FFA employ these muppets??4 points
-
Agreed. And people are forgetting that these decisions sometimes go one way, sometimes the other. In recent derbies - Finkler's free-kick clearly crossed the line but the goal wasn't given, and in the first league derby this season Cahill was in an off-side position when Brattan scored and was IMO interfering with play. We've scored first in 15 out of 18 league matches this season if I've got the arithmetic correct. We knew we had an inadequate defence last season and did little to remedy it this season. Also add Cahill. We also play a high-press game that is bloody hard to play and last the distance in an Australian summer. Off the field there are also visible signs of poor management, so all-in-all IMO our disintegrating season is self-inflicted.3 points

So CFG have listened. They haven't got a replacement song yet, so they just put winning on hold until they find one.3 points

I hope we beat Victory in finals with a penalty that doesn't cross the line, yet is still given, with the penalty having been awarded for a tackle that wasn't a foul, on a player who was blatantly offside when receiving the ball.3 points

I'm surprised the 'I want heart back' and 'I'm. Not emotionally attached to city' haven't started up again yet3 points

Yeah was wondering what that was about, certainly looked like Bouzanis walked straight up to him, gave him a serve and stormed off.3 points

Its Bouzanis Franjic. Malik. Jakobsen. Muscat Kilkenny Brattan. Caceras. Brandan. Fornaroli. Colazo3 points

The difference is that Heart often exceeded (admittedly lower) expectations. City set high expectations and then underperform woefully. Failed at the sharp end last season, have failed ever since the cup win this season. Either way it's crap, but on balance I'd rather see sixth as an achievement for a small club than an abject capitulation from one that's all mouth and trousers.2 points

I was having a discussion last night about our defence and comparing it to last year's Wilko, Kisnorbo, Sorensen combination and we were a bit unclear. It came up that Sorensen's experience and direction in defence was a major contribution to better defensive organisation, what do you guys think? Don't think there is a defence to a racist remark afaik.2 points

5 year contract for Bouzanis for calling him a Gypsie Interesting that fornarolis goal was not shown on the score board but Victory second goal (offside) was shown multiple times.2 points

Summary of our season is this.... Defences win championships. This is why we lose and will continue to lose.2 points

I'd rather just see Bouzanis and Berisha punch on for 90 minutes honestly.2 points

TDDIM: NPL2: Football. Alcohol. Chevapi Rolls. Think I'll start going to more NPL2 games at Dandy Thunder and less City games. Added bonus is it's 5 minutes from Dandenong Pavilion and the best burgers around.2 points

TTDIM: Getting smashed on a Friday night after a long arse week. Your all cunts but your alright. Tesla the know it all cunt is alright. Cadete knows his politcs so he's a cunt but he's alright. Strider is just a cunt flat out. And the rest of you cunts can get fucked. But your all alright.2 points

TBH I'm at the point when I don't care too much who the new coach is. Just as long as it's somebody who does something different, says something different, and who will shake the club out of being totally bland and boring.2 points

I don't disagree with the idea of playing the whistle and poor calls going both ways at different times. The standard of A-league reffering is becoming more and more laughable. The Berisha own goal incident is laughable in that it shows a real shortcoming in the rule or application of it, no way this should have stood. The Geria headbutt on Brandan in the first half is a foul and possibly a card anywhere else on the field (on any other player). The ball was gone and Geria just went to smash him. The repetitious fouling of Fornaroli without cards being produced. As for Bouzanis probably one of his better games with the pen save and but why get racial? Berisha is a cunt just call him that. Honestly I don't think we were that bad last night and if not for some shit luck would have at least drawn.1 point

Agree with the bolded. Really warming to him as a player. His "brain fade", however, is completely unacceptable from a professional. I'd like to see how most of the people on this forum would go in their workplace if they called someone what Bouzanis is alleged to have called Berisha. Chances are, most of us would be out on our arses. So, if people want to call him a hero from behind their keyboards, go for it. It's not on. And if it gets found out, he'll be pilloried for it and it will likely be the first thing people think of when they hear his name for the rest of his career.1 point

Offside applys to any part of the body that can score a goal. In saying that the benefit of the doubt should be to the attacking player.1 point

Don't be fooled by these empty rhetorics that the season isn't over and that finals series is still up for grabs. Our season is truly over. We have no chance of getting top 2. So ACL opportunity is gone. We've proven we can't win enough games in a row let alone even one game on the road which is what we will have to do to win the championship. ACL gone again. Finals gone. Seasons gone.1 point

That's what I mean. Surely this is rock bottom and with us probably needing to promote about four players from the youth team just to put a side on the park, there's no expectations now for next week. So what I'm saying is that hopefully the players and coaches finally realise just how bad this is, take a bloody look in the mirror and start working to turn this club around, because right now, we're in year three and Melbourne City is going nowhere fast.1 point

Playing youth games every Saturday at 12pm midday in 30+ degree weather with 90% humidity in North Queensland was the norm. But you would be fucked all weekend as a result.1 point

Im not sure they set low performance standards but i do think that they dont change the squad enough to keep everyone on there toes. Brattan should have been dropped by now for example but he just strolls into midfield each week.1 point

Tonight's derby will determine whether we have a realistic chance of making second, and next week against Brisbane will give an indication of where we might finish in the rest of the table.1 point

Went and watched Dandenong Thunder v Dandenong City last night. Featured Colosimo, Kalmar and Dugandzic. Sad to see Dugandzic's fall from grace continue, bar one nice free kick that should've been headed home, he was anonymous. Easily muscled off the ball and unable to beat his man 1v1, he was the first player subbed. Kalmar looked good, great 1st touch and a lot of nice passes, but didn't have the players around him to make the most of it. Colosimo didn't have much to do but did it well, lots of nice 30 yard passes out of defence to build attacks with Roddy Vargas winning everything in the air. Star of the show was Brandon Barnes, guy is a freak. His first touch is better than 90% of the guys in the A-League and he has so much composure when he gets the ball inside the box. Adelaide United could do a lot worse than this bloke in their search for goals.1 point

The whole club is a big negative for me, i thought last season was bad enough but this season eclipses that by a very big margin. The team is a shambles the style is deplorable and the coach has flown the coop to leave a carbon copy of himself to carry on. Sorry but i am totally dissilusioned by thole shambolic situation, win a title? you must be joking !!!1 point
