Leo Natel Legacy Thread

Thought our newest player could use his own thread.

Interesting to note that Corinthian fans are all pretty emphatic that he is a horrible player - my favourite comment so far being "Congrats Melbourne City, you now have your new worst player"

Be interesting to see how he adapts in this league, looks like he'll be getting a lot more game time then hes been used to of late.

The same sorts of comments were made when Adrian Luna came to us.

I wonder whether he actually exists? A bit of news out of the club wouldn't go astray. Personally I could care less about a new sponsorship or viewing Manchester City's trophies. My hope for the the EPL is that it will be won by anyone except Manchester City...

I really don't understand why the media team don't post weekly updates on all players fitness conditions. Eg. "Leo Natel has been hitting the training pitch and fitness is improving. He looks on track to be fit for round 1 against WU"

"Andrew Nabbout had a successful surgery on his Achilles and will spend the next 6 weeks in a moon boot"

Etc etc

Yeah shit you're right!

You need to upgrade to a corporate membership so someone in the "social media" department can spend an extra 3 minutes a week, updating the fans on the doings of the players and club...

Settle down mate. He already added more spark from his limited gametime then the other 2 wingers combined...

I'll be pleased to be converted. The one moment he had in the box I thought he showed promise, but there wasn't much else. Jakolis is frustrating. He has pace and gets into a lot of good positions but then does bugger all with it. Like Lachie Wales a few years back...

We always complain how sterile and boring our football is. So i just loved seeing natel do something different. Will obviously improve with more game time and with Arslan around him.

Yep Arslan was out of breath by the 70th minute. Natel and Arslan will be lethal when they're both up to full fitness.

Full translated article

Striker Léo Natel, who is on loan to Melbourne City, Australia, is one of Corinthians' targets as a sale in this mid-year window. The amount fixed by Timão is 2 million euros (R$ 11.2 million at the current rate), which can be negotiable for lower amounts.

The loan is valid until June 30, but the contract with Corinthians runs until the end of the season. If a transfer in this next window does not happen, the board should give a new destination to the athlete, since the use is not in the plans.

According to ge.globo, the representatives of Léo Natel and the City Group, owner of Melbourne City, will meet to seal the athlete's destiny. Thus, he must be bought or have the return to Corinthians defined.

Natel was the starter of the Australian team for most of the season, finishing with 29 games, six goals and six assists. For the Parque São Jorge club, he has a total of 54 matches and only four goals, culminating in a loan to Apoel, from Cyprus, and Casa Pia, from Portugal, who did not yield sales

Towards the end of the season he started to get going but no way should we pay 2m Euros.... save that and put it towards wages outside of the cap! Even better sign a decent coach.

He was very good the last 10 games of the season, so a bit of me wonders if it just took him a while to settle in the country so it is something I would consider, but 2 million euros is a lot and I would much prefer to use 2 million euros on someone's wages than a transfer fee.

Surely that's an old story? I understood that he had returned or was returning to Corinthians. Indeed, that's what it says here: https://melbournecityfc.com.au/news/20240516-five-depart/

So Corinthians can do what they like with him is my clear understanding.

If we pay that much for that lazy drongo then the club has definitely lost the plot. He's not worth any transfer fee IMO. And other clubs clearly didn't think much of him either

Getting painful recollections of the stuff-up that we made with that Italian designated player guy we signed and who barely got on the pitch for us...

If I had made stuff-ups like that in my job I'd have been out of the door on my ear quick smart...
