How many Marquees can NYCFC have ffs.

Throw us cunts a fuckin bone and give us a gun with goal scoring ability.

I think each MLS club can have a maximum of three "designated players."

Therefore NYC can have Villa, Lampard and Drogba if they wish to.

But yet we get 1 marquee no one has heard if and is as painful to watch as barbed wire dildo show.

So I work for a private delivery company and over the space of the past 6 months I've been delivering and picking up packages and parcels to and from the Melbourne City Office in Bundoora. The guys at work knowing that I'm a fan normally let me take care of there stuff. Over that time I've slowly got to know the people at the office, anyway today I went into the office and starting talking to some guy, we started chatting and started talking about the team and the changes. I asked him if he had any idea who we were going to bring in, he said he didn't know a whole lot but he had heard talk about Hatem Ben Afra. He'd be very handy if we could get him under the cap.

Melbourne City target Victory’s A-League winning left-back Daniel Georgievski

May 27, 2015

David Davutovic

MELBOURNE City could launch a bid for Melbourne Victory’s title-winning left-back Daniel Georgievski, as John van’t Schip prepares for a recruiting blitz.

City will be one of the most active teams in the off-season, although Kevin Muscat’s Victory could set the agenda.

Victory is confident of retaining Archie Thompson, though they must hope that Georgievski accepts a pay cut. Both players were offered a new deal before they departed for their end-of-season trip.

Georgievski is also considering a return to Europe, which would help his international career. He still plays for Macedonia.

Victory are hoping to fill the final pieces by securing Perth Glory keeper Danny Vukovic, who’s also being courted by Western Sydney and Newcastle Jets.

Grand final keeper Lawrence Thomas will stay on, as will midfielder Jesse Makarounas, although winger Connor Pain could reassess his future if Thompson stays.

It’s understood that attacker Jamie Maclaren is also a Victory target, however Perth Glory is playing hardball.

City has made an offer for Socceroos right-back Ivan Franjic and has also expressed interest in Sydney FC winger Corey Gameiro.

It’s also believed that City is planning on filling one of its visa spots with an experienced English Premier League keeper, despite Tando Velaphi’s impressive form.

City is yet to decide whether it will offer Argentine Jonatan Germano and midfielder Massimo Murdocca new deals.

Schwarzer signed a contract with Leicester City until June 2016.

With regards to available EPL goalkeepers, IMO Tremmel and Jaaskelainen would be awesome.

I would wager that Given is pretty tight with one D.Duff.. Both Irish lads who' ve played in the national team together for years, plus played together at Blackburn and Newcastle.. He always has been and still is a quality keeper, and a good pro too.

I mentioned we should sign him probably about a year ago, way before there was any indication he was coming back to Australia to join Victory, if I can put together AUstralian citizen + full back + contract expiring + desperate for a club, why is our team of 12490238742 scouts not able to.

Would have been cheaper a year ago too I imagine.

TBH he might actually cost too much, seemed to me he was extremely reluctant to come back to Australia in the first place, and only did so because he had no other options (+ probably got a decent salary), we'd have to make him a pretty good offer for him to not go back to Europe.

Honestly it seems like a waste given Velaphi has done a good job and would be on not much more than minimum.

It concerns me that we are potentially looking for a visa keeper, all the while we have Chapman and Kisnorbo as our sole centre backs.

To give an overview, over the past 2 weeks it has been reported that Melbourne City is targeting:

- A (left-footed) central defender (http://www.vi.nl/nieuws/van-t-schip-verder-zonder-landgenoten-wielaert-en-jaliens.htm)

- Two attackers (inc. one who can play on the wing, according the article above)

- Ivan Franjic

- Daniel Georgievski

- Corey Gameiro

- An experienced EPL goalkeeper

A pretty solid and well-rounded start to the off-season IMO.

One of Franjic or Georgevski. Particularly if we sign Novillo to play on the left you need a natural left footed who is prepared to hug the touchline while Novillo makes his runs inside.

Hopefully JVS has a look a Lachlan Jackson who's moved to Sth Melb from Brisbane. Looked very good in the games he played late in the season at centre back.
