This thread makes me think. I don't really use the social media sites where hash tags are used, so not sure if this already happens. But is there a such thing as "hashtag trolling"? Just takeover a hash tag for posts and discussions that are completely irrelevant?

All the time. Some people use popular # with irrelevant posts just so they get more noticed. And popular feminist, religious and political ones always get mocked.
