You do realise we're in Australia and not Europe or South America yeah..... Ripping flares being illegal and all aside, it's not, never has been and largely won't be (at least for a fair while) part of our community for the vast majority of us (either at football games or in the community). Getting booed, heckled, shit thrown on you and all is representative of the active bay seeing that behaviour (a.) as bullshit / wanting to cast it out, and (b.) something against the best interest and image of the game. The crowd are reacting to YOUR behaviour. YOUR actions. What the fuck do you expect when you act like that? And again this is Australia, where this ultra mentally has never really been part culture. Doesn't belong here in comparison to the models you see overseas, and only acts as a blemish on our game in an era where other big (if not bigger) Australian sports will do what they can (particularly in the media) to fuck our game over. Speaking to Bratts at one of the functions he did mention that Joyce enjoys getting in on the banter, in particular with Luke himself. Does indeed sound like there's a good bond there.4 points

Just sit down quietly and cheer when your team scores or yell out "ball" when somebody gets tackled you filthy unwashed hooligan scum4 points

You are a stupid kid who has obviously never stood/sat on the terraces in England for 20years like me. I never SAW a flare until I came to Australia. I admit, it's a Euro/South American disease. And those ultra ''ultras'' are *genuinely* scary. People inside and outside the grounds have died in skirmishes over the years, mate. But you won't find that on social media. Did mummy let you stay up late to spot any flares on TV in the recent Manchester / Glasgow / Liverpool derbies this month? Do you want to tell any of those season ticketholders in those cities that they lack passion for their team? I find the Aussie wannabes like you a piss-weak joke. .4 points

I don't know how off the back of one good game you can seriously think this? Jakobsen and Bort have proven to be our best CB pairing this season and should start together3 points

Only this forum could focus on such a minor negative after such a glorious win. Y we lik dis? We fucking won cunts3 points

Unless I heard it wrong, Joyce said that's all it was, and an excuse for a crappy free-kick, and that there's nothing wrong with him. All in all I thought the comments showed a very good bond between our manager and our players.2 points

Geez Bozanic played his best game for us IMO would be very stiff to miss out but I agree with your reasoning1 point

Lol. Clueless cunts that will shit themselves when they realise how much it will even cost just to apply for a licence.1 point

The reason for Wazza's love for Malik is that he came in and saw that he was quiet, low on confidence and he saw the potential. Malik was getting hated on weekly despite being a great guy and decent player, Waz decided to boost his confidence by playing him and it's done wonders.1 point

The reality is Brisbane registered 4 shots, 0 on target, no shots blocked and no big chances. They were downright awful and even suggesting this game is any indication that Malik should be ahead of Jakobsen is mind boggling.1 point

The club is a mess internally and Gombau wasn't given a fair chance. For whatever reason people within the club turned on him including players and he was forced to play players that gave him little respect during his tenure.1 point

Anyway, I think the important part in all this is to acknowledge that we're a very good chance to make it to our first ever Grand Final, and therefore the players need our full support regardless of all this off field stuff. Would lol if we did make it and it was against Victory. Good memories of what the terrace looked like in that infamous semi final a few years ago at Etihad. Flares, colour and all. It was great, apart from the result.1 point

I've always thought Malik is a reasonable CB when he has someone next to him who can lead. He was good at Adelaide when partner with boogard. His best few games as a CB with us was with Kisnorbo or Jakobsen. Last year his really poor performances were mainly when he was partnered with tongyik In saying that I believe he is a much better in midfield, but definitely can go back when needed1 point

There's no reason why the two approaches, indeed a range of footballing cultures can't coexist, and in time create a unique local hybrid. The problem is the flares, and the trouble they cause for soccer in this country. Its something that threatens the existence of the A League. I suspect that if I'd used your phrase but substituted Turkey, Greece or Serbia, I'd have had the mods jumping all over me as well as a lot of posters with those backgrounds. And honestly, I couldn't and wouldn't say it, because no country or nationality is worthy of that sort of contempt.1 point

It’s laughable to suggest that the libs have moved to the right under Turnbull. theyve moved well to the left. This government has economic policies well to the left of those enacted by the labor Hawke-Keating government. to suggest anything else is to to deny history.1 point

You know these kind of ramifications go beyond one season right? It's not just wiped clean come seasons end like yellow cards rofl. But just flow with the energy ay brah be a sickcunt Atmosphere was one the best it has been all season (from bay 15 POV). We didn't need the flare (ripped at such a nothing moment anyway), and tbh it had a mostly negative effect. Thanks to the non-aids members of active for their hard work.1 point

lol, the pissants who were responsible for the flare are anything but what you've described there. More like self-interested little pricks who have been around 5 minutes, turn up whenever they like and are more concerned about their own reputation and image above the atmosphere of active or the enjoyment of others. Whether you like flares or not doesn't matter, the fact is they're illegal and terraces are being punished heavily for the use of them, a great example of that tonight was when the real hard working supporters who put effort into the leadership and maintenance of the terrace had most of their equipment removed because some little shit in the front two rows wanted his 30 seconds of fun dancing around around in the smoke. Times have changed, the governing bodies are coming down harder on these actions, again, whether people agree with that or not is immaterial, it's simply the reality of the matter. The fact is that these fans have two options; understand that these restrictions are there and that breaking them will only lead to punishment for their team and fellow fans and make the decision to cease the behaviour OR selfishly continue the behaviour and let everyone else wear the negative outcomes of an Active Area without flags, megaphones or capo stands...but hey, at least they get to rip their flares right?1 point

Marquee spot should go to Bort imo. Tie him down now with a sizeable contract and make him captain.1 point

That's exactly my point. We are hamstrung. And end having to get more mature but lesser quality (potentially) because of the FFA handbrake.1 point

Exactly look what they've done at Girona and Breda. Without having the loanees those teams would definitely be relegated. The second half of both of their seasons they actually becoming decent sides as the loaness generally 4 or 5 play each week and most are 19 to 22 years old. If we could use our visa and marquee spots on CFG elite fringe players instead of lets be honest journeymen that for whatever reason never made in the big leagues how exciting would that be. I'm not saying bring over 5 players but 1 or 2 per season plus a Fornaroli type and you would get a good mix. But it's pretty much impossible with the FFA rules and cap restrictions. I think CFG are doing all they can and are hoping at some stage in the not too distant future they will be able to do more.1 point
