  1. So for those playing at home, we need a maximum of 6 points (2 wins from 6 games) to get the ACL spot. That also assumes Adelaide win their remaining 5 games. Every point they drop in their last 5 makes our magic number even smaller
  2. i will believe it when i see it, but there will be a secondary benefit of us all drawing a line in the sand. as soon as we get massive crowds whenever we play at home during the semis (think of point a below too) and a run of non Sydney teams in the GF (think of point b below too), and the APL be under pressure to revert. combine that with what what should be; (a) good turn outs for other non Sydney teams (be it Victory, Adelaide, Perth, etc etc) during their respective semi final games, and (b) lacklustre away bays in the GF because many fans wont be arsed travelling fingers crossed we see change. when you look at they AFL, the do by all means get good crowds either way (a benefit of having tradition over 100 years & something that points towards the tradition in the a league). yet there is always a much bigger buzz when its Melbourne based teams.
  3. I certainly won't be going to Sydney should we make it. But I do feel conflicted regarding any home game we get in the semis. Our players don't deserve an empty home game for what the APL has done
  4. Smurfs are down 4-0 against the welfare cheats with 15 to play. hahahahahahahahahaha. we're still a game clear of Adelaide, 2 games against the welfare cheats and have two games in hand (replayed derby and tomorrows game against the bullshits). honestly believe the plate is firmly in our hands - comes down to sticking to strengths** and putting our chances away. ** that said, of course games are a thing of ebbs and flows; you adjust where forced to / required (eg red cards) **
  5. don't disagree, just hope people understand why it pisses me off. it truly fucks us over as opposed to other clubs .... goes both ways. just think how we feel about Sydney teams .... edit: after all, this is not a once a decade thing
  6. certainly sounds like it is a possiblity. i just don't get how the severity of the points decision against Canberra means that Victory get off scot free regarding an immediate docking of points. we are comparing what seems like an honest mistake regarding a 4th sub (which the referee endorsed too btw through allowing it to happen) against a complete and utter disgrace regarding Victory. if nothing else, the Victory situation might not have had an immediate rule in place because it was so bad and so unprecedented. if it is good enough to dock points against Canberra, then docking more points against Victory is par for the course of course, the APL have come across as a pack of arse hats multiple times this season so ......
  7. not sure where to post this so will post here. can someone please explain how come Canberra lose the 3 points from their A League Womens game on the weekend for possibly an innocuous 4th sub in 90th min injury time, yet the tards aren't forced to forfeit the Xmas derby for bringing the game into disrupt, causing a game to be abandon and injury to people on the field through the stupidity of their fans? edit: it just seems like complete and utter bullshit https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-03-06/canberra-united-a-league-women-stripped-points-substitutions/102058184
  8. Geez, it's a great first 10 minutes 🙂
  9. On a more positive note, sausage stand is back baby ☺️
  10. Thought the first red was within reason. It's not about if he did or didn't get the ball. It's about the recklessness of the challenge. Ultimately he slid in and tackled over the top of the ball. This can easily lead to serious injury, broken leg, etc. Could it have been a yellow, sure. That's up to the ref. Slide in like that and you're at the mercy of the ref
  11. felt for Berisha last night. he has been decent for us and lost out to a player who is very hot and cold. better to have that now and not during the finals.
  12. honestly thought we had them by throat the first half simply didnt put away our chances. You cant blame any else but yourselves when you fail to score from your opportunities. Second half was a lot closer. their third goal was complete arse, and if the players are right that the ref fucked up and caught our players off guard then the third goal is bullshit. but again, we had the chances so ..... fucking hurts to lose to the tards, but is it just me or have the tables turned; it honestly feels like every derby is now their grand final - like it used to be for us back in the Heart days? dont think Glover was as bad as some say. Berenguer is a luxary like player. hope he is gone seasons end. Leckie was great. Nabbout was decent when he came on. the rest of our attackers were wasteful. Good was missed at the back. agree with others, we need him back pronto.
  13. it's easy to say that now, but can you really blame the FFA from be pragmatic? i think that proves the point if nothing else. before what we did (which screwed the pooch), clubs could could get away with it. are people really getting upset by this???
  14. you do realise we signed both Ritchie de Laet and Ross McCormack under loan deals yeah? the loan structure still exists. clubs just can't be douches about it. for us, that means we can't abuse our connections to CFG.
  15. think you are being a little harsh on the FFA tbh. unlike other clubs (eh Hernandez at the tards), our CFG could easily use their money and position elsewhere to prop us up without the Lampard rule. what's stopping them from loaning us three or four really good plays from NYC, etc., without that loan rule? it's not like other clubs in the league can be dodgy in that way
  16. fun fact; tonight is MacLaren's 100th league game for us if he starts / plays and will be against the team where he made his A League debut. coincidently, his first ever goal in the A League for Glory was actually against us in October 2013.
  17. agreed thoroughly and about both transfers; nothing really in either of them and by the way we went about the Caceres transfer, we actually screwed ourselves out through things like the Lampard rule. that said, i'd be surprised if we weren't looked at - even if it is just some witch hunt
  18. https://www.heraldsun.com.au/sport/football/a-league/melbourne-city-tangled-in-financial-scandal-linked-to-parent-club-manchester-city/news-story/6ab0de87ebc07b39d8d2e74c637cf6db Questions are now being asked about us with our link to Man City. Seems a puff piece but ....
  19. Connor Chapman has signed for the tards. The fuck how the tables have turned. Talk about being our B team 🤣🤣🤣
  20. IMO Nuno has been awesome at RB. Not quite as attacking as Talbot, but has virtually won everything, kept Arzani quiet and has been somewhat of an outlet
  21. All games today were 2-2; great results for us really. Win tomorrow puts us 7 points clear with a game in hand.
  22. FMD that's quality from Vander Venne
