No doubt would devide opinions

T. Velaphi - A big stay for me depending on who is available could be either a great back up for a number. Has made the No1 his own on his own performances

Redmayne  - SEE YA not sure who gave him a contact extensions but who ever does can follow him out the door

J. Hoffman - Could be a useful squad payer $$$ wise

C. Chapman Solid as a rock will stay

P. Kisnorbo – Age may have caught up with him could potentially step in as a coach in some form

J. Clisby - stay

S. Baharudinwould like to see him added to the squad with a contact

R. Wielaert – SEEYA

J. Mellingstay

M. Murdocca –  SEEYA as like able as he is I don’t think his good enough

A. Mooyhopefully can hang around for another year

I. Ramsay - SEEYA

R. Korenwill stay another year to run

P. Retre – SEEYA don’t think his good enough

E. Paartalu2 years to run on his contract will be there

S. Maukdecent squad option

B. Garucciomight flourish under a new coach who knows what his doing

J. Germano – SEEYA sad but his body cant handle football any more

D. Williams -

M. Dugandzicbit unconvinced about his antics this year but new coach more confidence

D. Duff – SEEYA confirmed leaving

M. Marinonot given a chance but would like to see him under a European coach

J. Kennedywill stay

J. Brown – SEEYA doesn’t cut it

J. V. Schip – SEEYA don’t let the door hit you on the way out

Head Coach

L. Trani – Might be good to have around under a new coach

Assistant Coach

I. Jolic – Appointed by his mate JD SEEYA

Assistant Coach

Thats 9 players OUT with a new coach to come in

would love to see a Josep Gombau kind of coach come in no doubt there are plenty floating around the world

You need to consider the following (as I understand the situation):

Velaphi - out of contract;

Redmayne - one year remaining on contract (JA);

Hoffman - one year remaining on contract (JvS);

Marino - one year remaining on contract (JvS);

Chapman - one year remaining on contract (JvS);

Kisnorbo - out of contract;

Clisby - one year remaining on contract (JvS);

Safuwan(v) - out of contract (some say end of loan);

Wielaert(v) - out of contract;

Melling - one year remaining on contract (JvS);

Murdocca - out of contract;

Mooy - two years remaining on contract (JA);

Ramsay - out of contract;

Paartalu - three years remaining on contract (JvS);

Koren(v) - one year remaining on contract (JvS/CFG);

Retre - out of contract;

Mauk - one year remaining on contract (JvS);

Garuccio - two years remaining on contract (JvS);

Germano(v) - out of contract;

Williams - one year remaining on contract (JvS);

Dugandzic - out of contract:

Duff(v) - out of contract;

Kennedy - one year remaining on contract (JvS/CFG);

Brown - one year remaining on contract (JvS);

Novillo(ir) - out of contract;

Jaliens(ir) - out of contract.

All those highlighted will remain unless we can somehow move them on.

Fair point but players can be released from a contract should they be able to find another club

So assuming all the highlighted stay unless can find an offer elsewhere. That only leaves IMO

Safuwan

Novillo

Jaliens

to consider.

The question is with our renowned scouts can they find better Visa options?. I might stick with Safuwan offer him a 1 year deal. See what Novillo can do in the next month and soley due to age move Jaliens on.

Any questions on our medical department ? ffs for a club with our resources having so many injuries killed our season at critical times

Marwood the big guy from CFG said in his interview (see thread) that the almost all of the injuries were impact injuries not soft tissue injury. So Marwood explicitly stated that he does not hold the medical/rehabilitation people responsible for the injury toll.

Out of all the players contracted the one that sticks in my craw is Redmayne. I don't like Hoffman or Brown but I can live with it.

I would not keep any player whose contract expires. Need replacements.

As far as JVS is concerned, he lost me a few weeks ago. The assistants I cannot judge.

Contracts are irrelevant IMO, we can pay them out

So here is my list

STAYS DEFINITELY

Chapman

Paartalu

Mooy

Koren (but not as marquee if possible)

Kennedy

Garruccio

Velaphi

Clisby

Melling

Marino

Safuwan

GOES DEFINITELY

Redmayne

Wielaert

Ramsay

Murdocca

Duff

Germano

Retre

Jaliens

This leaves players like Dugandzic, Wiiliams, Brown, Kisnorbo, Mauk, Hoffman these guys will be 50-50 you can't keep them all but I don't believe you can get rid of them all also

Fuck Redmayne off to NYCFC

Just another player from us to them  :)

Added note: Interested to know what the rules behind utilising the CFG network to fuck shit players off to one of the other clubs and put them in the reserves team, are... Definitely ethically wrong but from the looks of it, legally surely we can't be done for it? They're still getting paid and would emulate an ordinary transfer albeit different reason for move and the result of the transfer.

An example would be: Redmayne under performing at Melb. City > NYCFC "buy" him during transfer window effectively taking him out of our salary cap > NYCFC move him down to Reserves for "fitness testing".

The only definitely gones for me at this stage are

Wielaert

Ramsay

Murdocca

Duff

Germano

Would you seriously offer a new contract to mate D? The guy thinks it's all a laugh. Rock up and take the easy money for kicking a ball. Well try Bentleigh.

Dugandzic seems like the type of player who would do well at another club, good player on his day but needs to find consistency

Garuccio showed some promising signs that he could potentially be a starter next season in his position

There are already 14 players we have to keep for next season. There are already several spuds in that group so the more of the others we keep the harder it will be to get a decent squad together. Another season like this one and we'll have sub-5,000 crowds. Just about all the other clubs are improving season-by-season; standing still means we're going backwards.

We need to find a way to jettison Koren too.

You dont need to find a way, he is a marquee outside the cap so you can do what you want. I still think Koren would be a star if we had a different coach that used him right.

We really should be playing with a 442 with the players we have

Saf Chap Kisnorbo Clisby

          Paartalu

 Melling             Mooy

           Koren

       Novillo

              Kennedy

But hey always next year

With a proper manager that's a perfectly good line-up.

But interesting though this thread is, it's a complete waste of time except that we can all vent our spleens. If JD and vS are around after April you can bet your bottom dollar that there'll be some inexplicable signings and re-signings.

We're not that far off from competing with the top teams IMO. Just need to get a RB, a keeper, another striker to help Kennedy and another marquee midfielder to replace Koren if his game doesn't pick up.

Outside of those 4 things (plus a better coach) out list is pretty good.

Kind of agree with this but we also need to build depth because every team is likely to get an injury at one point or another.

He's definitely the opposite of a whipping boy on here. Besides the odd glimpse once every couple of months, he's been a nightmare for the better part of two seasons...as bad as anyone still on our books, as far as I'm concerned. Yet the actual criticism of him is very rare, for some reason. He might have had a beer with the active supporters and Scott Munn once upon a time. Which reminds me...the real clean-up has to occur in the front office. It's the same old Heart, while they're running the show. Goodbye and good riddance.

The foreign players seem pretty straightforward. If they're not clearly good enough to be starting (Wielaert, Germano), they're gone. I've been happy with what I've seen from Safuwan (besides him apparently doing everything in his power to get a red card on Sunday) and Jaliens. Would offer Safuwan two years and Jaliens one. Too early to say with Novillo...he looked pretty good, but I don't think he'd want to stick around anyway.

Some of the Aussies are tough calls too, especially since there'd only be so many alternatives to the incumbents available. If Murdocca is willing to play for cheap, I think you could do worse. At least he busts his arse, whether he's on the park for three minutes or ninety.

I'm not sure that we'll get the mass onfield cleanout that people are demanding. But I think 4-5 different players could make a huge difference to this team.

would like to see kennedy pushed out and someone like nathan burns brought in as aus marquee

I think Kennedy should be given more time. Nathan Burns has been excellent at WP but was pretty average before that - I think that it all boils down to Merrick doing a fantastic job, but to state the obvious, JVS is no Ernie Merrick.

risk too big to take into next season

already struggles to run at all, can't play 2 games in a week, don't waste a marquee spot on someone that won't have an impact

Always thought he was a poor signing. Can't understand CFG at all on this marquee issue - saying one thing and then appearing to do the other. Seeing blokes like Keogh and Janko playing for other clubs and then looking at Koren and Kennedy - there's just no comparison. But I doubt that either will be paid out I'm afraid.

Keogh has played well from round 1. Janko had underperformed for most of the season but he finally hit his straps about 6 matches ago. So basically Kennedy has about 14 matches to find form if you want to compare him to Janko. Of course the club cannot afford to give him 14 matches to get some form.
