sharpy
We know we can beat any team in the league... hahaha Yeah if they all get red carded in the first 10 minutes.
billyheart
He looked knackered after 30 minutes of minimal running from deep midfield Sunday. Surely he'd get no more than 10 minutes. More of a mental boost to the squad and supporters then anything. And hopefully he can then play at least a full half for the YT Saturday.
jw1739
surely he couldn't play friday night. He's only played 30 mins in the youth team. Would at least like him to play a full youth game or 90 min training game at full pace. IMO it would be madness to play him. What is the point? The season is shot anyway. 25 minutes in a match at half-pace against 16-yr-olds - if we play him on Friday then we have completely lost the plot.
Dylan
He will probably start on the bench and play 10-20 mins at the end.

Dylan
any game time exposure will improve his fitness. On sunday when he came off he didnt look tired at all but his role didnt involve much running.

kingofhearts
Surely 10 minutes in the seniors won't hurt? Whats the point of playing our marquee signing in the youth league? I understand he's still underdone but the guys just got too much quality to be left playing in the youth week after week. The least he could do is come on and destroy ruban zadkovich on friday. Hate that bloke

But that was a script that never made it to production. We got the black comedy instead.
LR9
http://theworldgame.sbs.com.au/melbourne-heart/news/1178742/Engelaar-pushing-for-a-Heart-start Melbourne Heart's Dutch midfielder, Orlando Engelaar, could make a shock return to the starting line-up for the Round 15 clash with Newcastle Jets this week. The 34 year-old holding midfielder broke his leg in August during a trial match against Brisbane Roar in Lismore. On his return to competitive football he played 30 minutes for Heart’s National Youth league team in its 3-1 win over Melbourne Victory last weekend. Heart coach John van't Schip said on Thursday that Engelaar will play a role in the Jets match at AAMI Park on Saturday. The World Game has since learned the skillful playmaker is a strong chance to start the match, with Van't Schip believed to have been impressed with Engelaar's fitness during Melbourne's searing heat wave this week. Heart is looking to break its run of 19 matches without a win and in a further boost, captain Harry Kewell has been passed fit to start after being substituted in the second half of the Round 14 loss to against Perth Glory. Great news on this man potentially starting, some think it might be too soon, but the club knows his condition better than anyone. At the weekend he came of early as part of a preconceived cautious approach, but he looked real fresh on the bench. Didn't look ginger or bothered, was smiling and happy, waving to his family and supporters as he changed into his training top, etc. He's a smart player, conservative with his energy, in a good way, so that will help his cause. Every chance he could start and play a half, plus maybe another 10-15 in the second haf after they assess his condition. How ironic that we'll snap our streak with this bloke.. jimitron5000
I'm 37 have and have a shonky knee. I also have my own kit (but will need shorts) and can supply my own 3 wheelie bins, each with a different coloured lid. I think that qualifies me for a game. Baresi
Engelaar looked as unstoppable as the Terminator tonight Sat way too deep though. I'm hoping this is because of lack of fitness, not his natural game style. Gave the opposition room to carry the ball forward, caused us problems. Very calm on the ball, however.
