  1. Morphine - No disrespect intended & apologises if you took it that way. Back in my home town - Where the D-Day landings started on the south coast a saying has been around for many a year. for example,. Marriage split up "this is D-Day" etc etc MHFC is no longer... I will remember the date . Remembering that this is a forum for discussion points of view and opinions
  2. I thought i would be able to sleep on it and decide in the morning ..... Still undecided - Melbourne Heart is my Football Club, these changes are very difficult for me to accept. The +++'s since take over (for me) * We now have a proper Football name * Quality players will come in * No more Shite Football .... ? * Success is on the cards The - - -'s since take over (for me) * We lose the name of Heart ( which has grown on me) * We lose our Identity as The Colours of Melbourne * Having a "Sugar Daddy' to provide the best in a Football Fans view is "Buying Success' - Look at Citeh & Chelsea. This brings Envy and Hatred rather than Respect for Building from the ground up - Look at Brisbane Roar The second strip is just a sweetener for fans - The Timing of Villa Signing is a business move to win over the Fans. At the end of the day it is the Passion that has gone as i expect it has for a lot of Fans, the days of planning short holidays and interstate work commitments around Heart fixtures is behind me now But i would Miss Football !! ... 40 odd years of Playing and supporting on two continents in Three country's, to just chuck it in because of City takeover is very hard for me. I dedicated my social time to the Club , Never Missed a fixture in Victoria and travelled to several away games in NZ and Interstate. Met some great people along the way, Some oldies in the Ace of Heart categories and some genuinely friendly Football fans in the Yarraside - The last four years have been awesome even if the Football has been crap. June 6th in Europe is remembered as D-Day - June 5th In Australia will have a similar remembrance for Me. Do i renew my Membership for the new season ........... ? Its time to pull me head in and move on > I just dont know which road to take
  3. Its simple, start singing Citeh songs and we will lose a lot of support from the Active area
  4. Woohoo, Some good news at last Keeping the colours is what we all want. Citeh saying they could go to court is annoying - who do they think they are !! they initially said that MHFC would not become a Mini Man City ..... Wanting to change name and colours is trying to turn Heart into a Mini Citeh Im delighted that it will not be happening (yet) Keep The Colours - Keep The Heart - Keep The Fans
  5. Not sure why anyone would be concerned about us being a Man City feeder team. If anything it's a good thing. How many EPL quality players are people expecting Man City to bother poaching from us? There are about 4 Aussies who are EPL quality in the world right now, even the promising young kids who are EPL youth squad potential would probably be allowed to develop in and around our first team considering they are planning on sending the ones they have now to us. The goals are different (pardon the pun): being a feeder club means that winning trophies become secondary. And since there is no relegation the team will always play first division football. Of course not all players will end up in the Man City first division but they can be sold to other clubs. If you look at the Roar they have had a fairly settled group of players for quite a few seasons now and so they have been quite successful in instilling a culture and on the playing field they are quite familiar with one another. Being a feeder/factory club means that there is always a high turnover of players - admittedly this is already true of the club but look where that got us. Agee, being a feeder club to an EPL team is the least of my worries, - In fact its a huge positive. Keeping our identity with the colours of Red n White is far more important
  6. He's played for the U21 national team around a dozen times, already has A-League experience and has only recently turned 21, PLUS he's been signed outside of the squad limitations so what's there to lose? BTW Melling only recently turned 19. Yep he's signed outside the 23-player squad and outside of the salary cap. And he featured in 9 A-League matches for Adelaide United. And he's played regularly for Australian underage teams (for instance, he played every match at the 2011 FIFA U17 World Cup). And he was voted by the FFA's technical committee as the best player of the 2010 state institutes tournament. And he became the youngest player ever to make an A-League debut, when he debuted in 2012 at 15 years of age. Also, he was considered good enough to play in the Spanish 2nd division last season, but the move fell through because of a technicality. All up, he's a pretty excellent young prospect, and all the more because he's not apart of the 23-player squad (although he is apart of the senior team), he's a pretty handy player to have. Murfy - Nate >Trusting your judgement ... The expectations of "Good Things to Come" have left me questioning several movements in recent transfers ie, Go gol, Mifsud, The signing of Lucash etc etc .... can you blame me Believe me i hope he is a hit, ( providing he is playing in Red n White )
  7. I really wish i shared the same enthusiasm ...... Then again, I was over optimistic last season and we were shite !!!
  8. Manchester Utd since the old second division days ( yes newcomers Utd were once in the 2nd Division ) Why ...... Stuart Pearson 1nil
  9. "come with me if you want to live"
  10. Thanx for the article, I rate this young player, one for the future
  11. Haha, working. Does that mean its true
  12. Just heard from a colleague in Sydney that Heart are in talks with Conor Chapman. !! Cant see anything on sports news - can anyone shed some light ... or it is another rumour ?
  13. 100% behind this .... La Rocca any day
  14. But why would an average player shine in the final? Or did you decide he was average after the game? It was really based on what we have seen of him this past year, He started off really well & i was excited with the news that he was coming to Heart. Since then I have watched every game for WSW simply cos of Mooy- he has been relegated to the Bench due to lack of form. Dont get me wrong he has potential
