moops
Way too angry for anything conciliatory right now I'm afraid Who the fuck do you think you are pal? You come on a Melbourne football club's forum with a name and photo of a player that plays in a league on the other side of the world!!!!!! Imagine a fan posting on an Olympic Marseille forum with the name Ibra and his photo and being taken seriously ? Your an immature kid who knows nothing. So please fuck off .... The city project is dying a slow death , the capitulation tonight is embarrassing , end it soon and let CFG focus on NYFC or whatever other projects they want to persue . Re-establish a club that represents the people of Melbourne. What the fuck are you on about? If anything they have listened to the old management team too much. It's time they got more ruthless!! And here I was thinking the Swiss were a neutral, peace loving nation. What gave you that idea?
moops
Holy shit what had JVS done to Kisnorbo. And yes, it is JVS. Ruins players and then everyone jumps to his defence that "the list isn't good". They were almost all at least decent players before JVS ruined them. I agree, he just chucks players in and says play, once more the movement is terrible

At least mooy looks like he cares hmmmm have to question Mooy tonight, had a real flat one. Looked like he couldn't get out of first gear to me. Midfield really struggled as a result. Tonight proved how dependent we have become on him. Duff was the standout for mine. Edited February 7, 2015 by rass

Imperial Pints
To be fair Silva never asked us to ditch the red & white, to become a plastic franchise or to bleed sky blue. We have the same old problems that have been unresolved for years...an average coach, poor goalkeepers and a culture of failure. We are all hurting but for fucks sake ripping into each other on the forum is embarrassing. Missing the finals may be a blessing in disguise as it will surely precipitate a change of coach and a serious review of the whole club.
Popular Post belaguttman
Positives: JVS took Ramsay off at 28 minutes The scoreline flattered us. Negatives: The team was flat across the park from the first kick and looked like they didn't want to be there. Did we have a game plan? The Visitors sat in a midfield press that we were utterly incapable of passing through all night, our ball movement and movement off the ball was so poor that they effortlessly maintained shape whereas we didn't to a couple of simple fast organised counter-attacks. Redmayne didn't make one good decision all night but did distribute one good ball to Williams. Koren was invisible Clisby committed himself too often without winning the ball and Barby had an easy time. Why did Ramsay start instead of Williams? It just meant that we wasted one sub. Our first save from Coe was at 86' from Kennedy, it just shows the lack of intensity and pressure from us. I know that we are a team in evolution and that we have players who aren't up to standard but must be played but I expect to see effort from the players and a tactical plan from the coach. there was no evidence of either tonight.

Murfy1
A painful and disappointing game to be at. Etihad is such a shit stadium for football. I fully agree with the point that we shot ourselves in the foot. We lost this game a lot more than victory won it. The first goal came from a rubbish ball from Kisnorbo, which went straight to Broxham and left Clisby high and dry and to get back and defend. After a clumsy going to ground tackle where he got nowhere near the ball (seriously, can't Kisnorbo win a ball without going to ground?) Barbarouses played an easy cross for berisha to tap in at the far post. The second goal was a disappointingly defended set piece, that originated from a needlessly made foul by Kisnorbo near the corner flag. Poor zonal defending around barbarouses, and I've got question marks over Redmayne's keeping for that shot. And the third goal was like the first, with a clumsy giveaway of possession around the halfway line, and then victory doing what their team is best at: counterattacking (despite the pretense of trying to play good football, they are really set up to counter). So behind the 8 ball after the sloppy first goal was conceded on 10 minutes, and the team didn't threaten goal enough. It was a mistake by JVS to start Ramsay. It's remarkable how scared a footballer like him is to play football, but now his time at the club is clearly up and I bet he won't start another game this season (even if there's a mile long injury list). But Williams didn't offer much more, with him having no good shots or creating any scoring opportunities. The forwards aren't enough of a goal threat. The last goal scored by a forward was Duff on December 30th (against Newcastle), and before that a penalty Williams scored against Wellington on November 30th. Since that Nov 30 match our midfielders have scored 8 goals, and have put to shame the pathetic return of our forwards. This team urgently needs Kennedy. I would say that Safuwan wasn't a weakness, but he wasn't a strength to the team either. And it's rather clear now that Paartalu plays a pretty useful role in the team, especially when it comes to playing out from the back (he presents for the ball very well, which is something that Safuwan didn't often do). The team is weaker without big Erik, so hopefully his injury isn't serious. Koren needs to step up. He's started 4 games, and is yet to have 2 good games in a row, playing very well against Newcastle then not well against CCM, then playing well against WSW (playing the key pass to Mooy in the lead up to the 1st goal, and having a shot cleared off the line by a defender) and not well in the derby. But Koren has largely been played out of position, and I'm pretty confident that after Kennedy starts starting that Koren will offer more. Nonetheless, Koren has to step up quickly, as right now he's not showing good value for money for an international marquee. The positives, such as they were, were that Kennedy played 33 minutes and showed some of his Socceroos class, Melling continues to be a midfield dynamo, Mooy and Duff continue to be lively and are our best avenues for creating scoring opportunities and Chapman is class in our defence (and is by far the best defensive presence in our back 5). Further, from a dry numbers perspective, the team kept 60% of possession, had 14 shots, although only 3 on target, whilst victory only had 7 shots, with 3 on target (which tragically and pathetically all went in. Redmayne didn't save a single shot on goal). All up a classic pretty shit game from a fan's perspective. Costly mistakes by the team, which we were finally starting to cut out, crept back into the team's game and were the main cause of Melbourne City's defeat. And to add further misery, the opposition was clinical and converted all 3 of their shots on goal. Some searching questions deserve to be asked about what the team can put on the pitch. Hopefully players recovering from injury and returning to full fitness can make a big difference, as right now the depth in the team (Williams, Ramsay, Safuwan, Murdocca, etc.) isn't offering much. I believe better football will come from Melbourne City, if only because better players will return to the team. And those better players (Kennedy, Paartalu, Velaphi, etc.) can't join the team soon enough

GreenSeater
Okay here we go: REDMAYNE: Get fucked mate. Poor positioning, poor distribution, poor command of area, never looks close to saving anything. HOFFMAN: Get fucked mate. Always gets exposed by Ben Khalflubbahlubbahslaggabulah. Really showed he is not up to standard tonight. His worst game in a while. KISNORBO: Get fucked mate. Hoofball, hackball, just wasn't as all up for it. Nothing like he was last year at all. CHAPMAN: Eh. Wasn't too god awful. Tried to actually attack tonight. Turned it over a lot. Loses points for not belting that Albanian cunt when he had the chance. CLISBY: Eh. Got fucked up tonight. Tough started debut. Still 8000x better than Ramsay or Garuccio at LB. BAHARUDIN:Eh. Looked really out of his depth in midfield at the start of the game. Worked his way into the match as the game went on. Suffered because of JVS' fuckwittery in playing a debutant out of position in a derby :droy: Shoukd start ahead of Kisnorbo at CB next week. MELLING: Fucking love this cunt. Severe lack of elbows this time around but still got stuck into everything and threw his weight around. Boss. MOOY: Get fucked mate. Didn't show up tonight. Is usually a god but tonight he looked unfit and not focused. RAMSAY: Shouldn't have started. Genuinely feel bad for the bloke. Has become a scapegoat of JVS being a general fucktard. Nobody deserves to get dragged in the first half like he did tonight. Not up to it and was poor but still. DUFF: One of only two players who gave a shit tonight. Ever the consumate pro. Still wasn't great but was the best of a shit team. KOREN: Get fucked mate. Didn't turn up. Played like shit. Doesn't look fit. WILLIAMS: Get fucked mate. Showed glimpses when he came on but was overall pretty quiet and shit tonight. Cannot cross to save his life. KENNEDY: Well that was fucking ordinary. Not fit, rushed in by a desperate manager. Still our best attacking threat all night. MURDOCCA: Why did he come on? For Clisby? JVS: GET. FUCKED. MATE. ETIHAD STADIUM: OPEN YOUR FUCKING ROOF AND PROVIDE MORE FOOD WITH BETTER LINES YOU DICKS. BERISHA: Cunt. MUSCAT: Cunt. Wish I'd stayed home. Something has gotta change at this club. Like right now. That was abysmal.

heart_fan10
The one time we play the ball to Kennedy's feet we nearly scored. Sick of these long balls and attempts to play through balls that aren't even close to being on. Overall we looked flat, worst performance by us in a while. Agree that we lost the game rather than victory winning it. All their goals came from defensive mistakes (most notably from Kisnorbo). I honestly don't think JVS is the man to take the club forward we really need to get a coach in asap who can do so.
