I was looking at some Nike templates and I remembered that City uses this for their third kit. As I said, I want us to keep the red and white stripes, but I am open to a Sky Blue away kit. This is just a quick 2 minute mockup haha but I wanted to combine the blue with red and white.

It would be tricky if you played SFC in Sydney

That's what third-kits are for :)

Nothing to do with the mock up but those colours look horrible together.

They really don't look horrible together. I think it looks great.

I guess that I would prefer that the colours remain the same but I am quite happy to accomodate a link to Man City. The obvious difficulty would be against Sydney FC but since these people aren't stupid I don't believe that it will develop into an issue. My only other request is that the numbers and players name have to be easy to read both at the ground and on TV - about three seasons ago the Jets had an awful away kit where it was impossible to read. Again these people aren't stupid but it has already happened once.

Id like to see a compromise, and I think we will see something like:

Melbourne City Heart Football Club

Home Strip: Red/White (stripes etc)

Away Strip: Incorporate the City Blue, perhaps with all 3 colours as above.

Third: Whatever, perhaps a new combination

I think most Heart fans would accept that in a Heart beat.

The away kit doesn't matter much to me, modern football has basically done away with the times when away kits were just as traditional as home kits. The away kits are just revenue raisers now which they make as different as they can as often as possible for the sake of sales.

Okay I don't want to sound my own trumpet but I think I have come up with the perfect logo. Based off the Man City logo of the 70's and 80's I have designed the logo in a similar vein, with the city of Melbourne shield in a roundel format. Sky blue circle representing the global community of City clubs we have become welcomed into, with the shield consisting of the red cross signifying the local heart at the centre of this club. It is simple and distinctly Melbourne, but anyone who is even faintly familiar with Manchester City's history will still see the resemblance to the Club that now finances us. I am a buoyed a little by City fans telling us we may keep our identity, but I know compromise is going to happen so I hope this achieve that.

The people have spoken. Sounds like we're open to change, but red and white on the home jersey is the tiny bit if history that we should fight to hold on to. I hope they consult fans via surveys/ forums before any big decisions are made.

I think they will. Staff will still be based in melbourne or relocate to melbourne. They are going to learn quick what we want, and really how fickle football fans can be in this country. We're not just going to have 30k people turning up to the first game next year. It's still going to take time to build. By dismissing the current fans completely would be very dangerous for them. They're not that silly.

Can we broaden this thread out to include other issues us fans have with the future direction? Like what we want to keep from the past...

I for one want to keep the third kit competition and hope that we continue our community involvment in some way, perhaps with when our new training facilities can be sometimes used by the public to host football carnivals and competitions like VPL finals and or state league events as well. I also like the idea of having games outside of Melbourne like the one in Albury next week. Id also like to know how they deal with active support groups etc.

Poll on the name would be good to put some numbers on that as it is slightly more contentious. I would hope that the new academy will reach out and bring in all local coaches for training, and hopefully support many local junior teams through out the city.

I'm hoping they have a statement by the next home game on all this. Well more saying, this is what we plan to do in the future (eg. fan forum and fan feedback surveys etc) At least to know what's coming up. Although I'm excited, part of me is thinking, I have no idea what is going on !!

I feel like deleting every post in this thread that suggests anything other than Red and Stripes as our home kit.

Alas I wont - But I really do struggle to understand any other viewpoint.

To be fair probably should delete zq2014's and his vote seeing as he's not even a heart fan

Open to Melbourne City FC name.. Not Melbourne City Heart though its a bit much..

Red and white home Kit.. do whatever u want with away and 3rd stripe... sky blue whatever
A new logo i could also deal with.. mayb with a little heart in there or something so we can still nickname ourselves the heart like Man Utd calls themselves "the red devils" although its nothing offical

hopefully they get rid of Kappa give us some proper collars ffs

Why you would even entertain/encourage a colour/kit change is fucking beyond me. :droy: :droy: :droy: :droy:

We might only have a short history but to those I know who have put in so much work, money, time, effort, blood (literally) to support this club, its fucking insulting to even be talking about changing our kit.

Just my two cents but fuck it, half of the people posting in here would have no idea about half of that ^, so I guess its only to be expected.

Coming from a Lazio supporter that should tell the owners everything they need to know.

G'day Braveheart, I'm not having a go, and I reckon most that has contributed here are die hard Heart Supporters

BUT, the new owners will probably want to change things around , at least we can see that we want to keep the old colours , regardless of what the new owners want

I'll wear Red & white to Heart (CIty ) whatever they will rebrand it , for as long as I can

Chill mate, 80-90% of people want us to stay red and white but we're going to have to compromise with these new owners in some changing to our uniforms. As long as red and white remain i'll be happy but if they were to scrap the colors and start again what can you do mate?

We really do need to make our opinion heard in regards to not changing colours, through chanting and making our voices heard on social media.
"We'll always be red, we'll always be red, we're not changing, we'll always be red"
Although, I doubt it will happen we do need to let them know that we don't want our home kit to change.

Yeah. And the club basically spat in your face for your efforts

I voted for no change, as i like the away strip as is, but could tolerate changes to the away strip in red and white.  For instance really liked the 3rd strip this year (unlike the other years)

It might be Ok in Manchester, but in Australia Sky Blue = NSW.  End of.

In no way shape or form will I wear Sky Blue.  If jerseys become Sky Blue, will lead a fully fledged riot with rellum and tonyboozeadams to burn the club's prize wheelie bins to the ground (or will sit at home and drink beer, whilst whinging to my wife and kids, still deciding).

I can handle Melbourne City FC, ASLONG as something along the lines of 'Heart of Melbourne' is incorporated into the logo as a motto.

But anything other than a Red & White Kit would be very dissapointing. For an extreme, Its pretty much saying a big "we dont give a fuck about your past" to all of us supporters who have embraced the Red & White since day dot. Although exciting news, the colors and name are a bit of a concern imo.

Too many of you guys are prepared to Just bend over and take it from the Rear ...
All because of Money !!!! and potential o success .

This is still your Club, why some of you would accept Name Change and colour change is beyond Me

If you just accept changes all round it will be a case of - MHFC 2009 - 2014 - Honours Zero

and MCFC take over .

Come on guys, it should be - MHFC  2015 Winners

We have to keep some Identity

Keep The Heart

Which is pretty fitting considering how this club was conceived and run.

I trust that the new owners know what they are doing and if they think distancing themselves from the heart brand is a better idea then fine. If they want to keep things as is then I am fine with that too. Basically unlike the old heart, I have faith in these guys

This is not about money. Its about having people in charge who know what they are doing. Who follow through with their big talk. Who not just have the vision, but the plan and means to make it happen too.

What I would like is for them to get rid of the security goons and have volunteer fans taking primary responsibility for crowd management with Police backup if needed. I'd also like to see cheaper membership to make it more accessible and a better seating plan, there seems no reason to choose Premium B over GA until now. I'd also like the franchise to handle the booking fees for the derby so season ticket holders aren't disadvantaged. Better food options would be good too, this city has such fantastic food yet the stadium food is boring and derivative stadium food. Let's get some food trucks in!
