How good was 'yarraside'. Fuck

what do you think of cityside? But we are on south end which is on yarraside

OK, I'm going to be dumb enough to ask it...we have the Southern End as the "home end", yet the team itself always uses the northern bench. Why is this?

Terrace Melburnian 1847 Melbourne or riverside for me.

Get rid of the "terrace" part and "Melburnians" is pretty much perfect imo.

Simple.

Strong Melbourne feel to the name.

Says everything about who the supporters are, and where they are from.

Fits in with the with the whole Melbourne City theme of being the true club for Melburnians.

Is non-devisive name, unlike "ultras" or "boys" and wont box the supporterbase into a particular style.

Has no relation to Manchester or Heart, unlike "citizens" or "Heartland".

Not to mention MELBURNIANS in big capitals would look great across scarves or tshirts.

And fwiw, it was also a former option for the name of this club, before Heart was chosen so links back to our history.

I also think it would sound alot better on the commentatrory. Even though i like the name "the wall", i think hearing the commenators saying "villa has scored and the Melburnians go wild!" Sounds a lot better then "Villa has scored and the The Wall has gone wild" or "Villa has scored and the Heartland is going wild".

No need to overcomplicate it. Keep it simple.

Just my 2c worth after thinking about it past few days.

To be fair, I can envision the commentators continuing to refer to us as Yarraside anyway ahaha.

Not too fond of numbers in names.

No offence, but m47 reminds me of those lame groups like m3, a17 etc. etc. that have come and gone around Australia.

Just keep it simple as Melburnians.

Adding 1847 or crews to the name makes it too much of a mouthful imo.

A name like Melburnians is so basic that I see no problem if say a group within like to call themselves Melburnians 1847, have a M47 banner or whatever.. In that way it´s very good, very inclusive even despite being a reference to a specific city

Agreed. Don't know what is with the fascination for numbers.

Happy to vote for this one

I can see us getting bagged to fuck if we call ourselves ´Melburnians´

How?

I reckon it's one of the most difficult names to make an insult from tbh.

Those Victory fans are a special bunch. They somehow find a flaw with everything... The fact it will get up their noses is all the more better reason to use it
