Tesla
Honestly when did it become okay to accuse people of being sexual predators without a shred of evidence to back it up? It's not only slanderous, but in extremely poor taste. It's a very serious accusation that shouldn't be thrown around lightly. We even have a bloke in the senate abusing parliamentary privileged to do it constantly.

I'm no Trump sympathiser since his lack of tact and general attitude towards minorities doesn't resonate well with me, but as far as international relations/economic matters are concerned Trump is probably going to be a good president. It's laughable how the left can't get over the idea that this has something to do with gender. I'm not saying there aren't sexists out there, but they give a fuck about the things they think Trump is somehow going to fix (he wont) than they do about the gender of the person who they think will do it. People who voted for Trump, in order of size: 1. People who are mad that they are worthless unskilled peasants who relied upon protectionism and other curbs to the free market to earn more than they are worth, and globalisation as well as illegal Mexicans undercut them and now they are faced with only earning their true value. Same reason people voted for the Brexit. 2. People who are mad they can't exercise their right (and it is a right in America) to free speech because of the PC bandwagon. Part of the reason people voted for Hanson over here. 3. People who have been indoctrinated by the media into an irrational fear of terrorism. Part of the reason people voted for Hanson here. 4. People who are just mad at everything and will vote for anyone who is seen as different to the status quo, same reason a socialist came pretty close to getting nominated as a Presidential candidate in America, same reason people voted for Clive Palmer without having a clue what he stands for. 5. People who just dont care and are in it for the entertainment of Trump being president. I can tell you at least the first 3 reasons which probably represent 85% of Trump's voters mean a lot more to people than who the person promising to fix it is. I think the big worry is not so much what Trump himself will do, it's more what kind of supporters he's awoken. White supremacists across America are becoming a lot more confident and brazen due to them believing that the far-right dictator they've craved for so long has arrived in Trump (which it probably hasn't). Also targeted attacks on muslims in the US are up enormously since the start of his campaign and are the highest they've been since 9/11. I don't think that Trump is massively dangerous (apart from his views on climate change) but I think a lot of the people he attracts are, and that's the problem. But fwiw the Democrats have only themselves to blame. They lost the unloseable election. If they had have nominated Sanders, he would have gotten a lot of the anti-establishment vote and all the polls during the primaries showed that he would have beaten Trump, whereas all the polls showed that Hillary would have only just beaten or lost to Trump. Hillary was too uninspiring, so none of the Dem voters who showed up for Obama showed up for her.

I don't know about that, convincing the swing vote to vote for a Socialist, but it would address point #1 and #4 I made so I wouldn't rule it out like people ruled out Trump capturing the swing vote. #1 is the biggest reason, people give a fuck about their livelihood more than anything else, even a redneck would vote for a black muslim woman if it meant he'd be significantly better off financially. That's basically the reasons I believe he'd have probably won. I think most of Trump's voters are more gullible than racists. They believe he cares about them and will help them, which he probably wont. Also Bernie isn't a real socialist but still.

strider
The only way to change a country's corrupt Democratic system (that is totally irrelevant, useless and outdated in the internet age) is to shatter it to pieces and elect someone that will challenge the average person's thoughts, patience and nerve. Trump isn't good for America, neither was/is Clinton. Trump is good for the world. Now we know (and can confirm) the only things that truly matter in a Democratic system in 2016 and beyond are: Popularity and how many pussies are touched. Alexxxandro
The voter turnout was shit. No one won this election Trump simply didn't lose quite as badly. Except it's looking like he lost the popular vote. I get that people think the system is broken. I get that some people voted against maintaining the status quo... but to vote for this vile human being?

So he's a liar who likes to make up stories about molesting people? How would you like it if he grabbed you by the dick if he felt like it? And all those women came out with allegations because it's so awesome to tell the world you have been molested. I guess they wanted the publicity or were paid by the Democratic party to come out with that shit? His election basically told the women of America that sexual assault is okay against women- you can even become president as a self confessed sexual predator. Clinton sucks but she doesn't suck any more than twenty previous presidents. If you don't think her gender played a role you might be right but you could also be incredibly wrong. Give a man the same ideas and intelligence as her and there's a good chance he would have won. Or not. After all she was running up Trump. Trump got elected on a small voter turnout. He got lucky that he was running against a woman for starters and doubly lucky that he followed a black man that I'm sure had many rednecks unable to breathe the past eight years. The people may have "voted for change" but the irony is that what they got is a billionaire property developer. Think about that for a second. Alexxxandro
You know I'm upset more so on behalf of the people of America who are going to have to live through his reign. We can sit here and talk about how funny it is or how it will crash the system but here we are in Australia with our medicare and centrelink and basically have it so good in comparison to the poor and marginalised of America it's not funny. I want the system to change I just wish it could have been done in another way. Bernie Sanders might have been enough to get things moving in a better direction like mentioned. cadete
Its funny to see this new movement of Trumpsters appear... but the end of day its as boring as any Hipster Movement. The large majority of Generation Y does not like the bloke for the obvious and legitimate reasons so of course inevitably we see a mass amount of distress on Social Media. Then just as inevitable for a bunch of PPL under 35 in today's society out pops another group of PPL who decide to like what most PPL hate just so they can be different.

NewConvert
It just struck me that Donald Trump could well be the USA's first Latino President - he has all the hallmarks of so many latin american Caudillos such as Trujillo, Peron, Ibanez.
