Tbitm have you thought of moving positions within a row or even to a different row? Number of solutions one would think

For a 30,000 capacity stadium which has three active bays (most of which are fairly empty) there seem to be an alarming amount of people who have difficulty seeing past something in front of them when we play

Guys its something that annoys me (perhaps fucking hate was strong, but i was in a ranty mood at the time), I'm not leaving bay 17 over it. And i do move if i can, and the mates I'm with can, but the derby i couldn't.

Standing on seats is just pointless anyway though, all it leads to is the people behind doing it and so on, the ACG telling everyone to get off.

I don't think this is going anywhere so heres a video i found of what i feel this conversation probably looks like

I know this is gonna be unpopular, but i fucking hate it when I'm in yarraside and people are standing on chairs in front of me. I don't mind when flags are in front of me, or people are clapping above their heads, and i don't really mind it right after a goal when yarraside erupts. I get thats part of being in active support

No, I don't stand in yarraside to get a good view of the game, but i fucking hate it when I can't see the game cause someone in front is on a chair that isn't even fucking chanting. Sure I could just stand on my chair, but then i feel like an asshole to people behind me.

tbh, I tend to stand on my seat a bit longer than I should after goals as I'm only 5ft and I like to feel tall... I do try to keep a vague eye on those behind me though and if it looks like it's bothering them I get down. And I'd get down if someone asked. Do you ask them to get down? I think that's a reasonable request in active, standing on seats isn't the same as general standing and flags etc.

I'm not saying it's a good or bad thing to do but whinging about it won't make it go away, KSK is right.

Winge? I thought this was a place for unpopular opinions.

Unless they've been up for an unusually long time, they are blocking a lot of my view, and don't have people in front of them on their seats ill ask. But thats quite rare.

Or if i accidentally look at the ACG guys and they ask me to tell someone to get off. I'm sure that pisses people off but better me ask them to get down that the acg guys come and force them down imo.

I hate Derby's.

Being surrounded by derby specialists who are there to just take photo's to post on facey to show how 'hardcore' they are ruins the night for me. Not to mention the fact that they always try to start their own chants and never listen to the capo pisses me off.

The specialists also don't give a fuck if you have a seat, they'll just stand were you were suppose to be and it doesn't matter how many times you kick them out, new one's just appear

Would rather just stand with the 100 or so die hards than let these flogs into the terrance.

I wan't South Melbourne joined the a-league now since they won't takeover us. The derby would be good (even though KoH probably thinks otherwise) and I would hate them more than Victory

Yes! More opportunities to stand on seats and block peoples view, cause i know you love it when people do that :)

Isn't the whole point of the active area to stand wherever you want and ignore the seat allocation?

Yes - But it's very frustrating rocking up each Derby with the regulars from the Imp to find the Active Areas already full of PPL who I have never seen before in four years of standing in Yarraside.

Not arguing that at all! Derby specials, particulatly the sponges and the ones that start chants annoy me as much as the next bloke, where they stand however does not. As long as they are singing like everyone else

Look, non-derby games if theirs enough room, it doesn't worry me if you want to come and stand in yarraside.

But in the last derby, it was so packed with specialists that i had to stand behind my mate, just to keep my spot in there. I'm not looking for a heap of room, but I should at least be able to have a seats-worth of space to chant, considering i am a season ticket holder.

I hate being that 'bloke', but i was so squashed i had to ask ACG to check people's tickets (Not that it actually worked, as soon as i came back from getting a beer all those kids who had been kicked out had already snuck back in)

It just ruins what should be a good night when i can't even move in my spot due to a couple of hardcore teens wanting to get some snaps on facebook.
