  1. Finally, a decent shot! Cheers mate. You can also really see here how much over hang there is at the top and bottom, and how much bigger it SHOULD have been.
  2. We're working out the details of placard handout times and locations at the moment. Once everything is finalised, we'll make sure the details are well known.
  3. You speak the truth. I'm so proud of this clubs supporters right now.
  4. Brilliant article. Shows that we're grateful for the investment and all we want is to show how much we love our colours and want them to stay. Some of those comments really miss the point though...
  5. LOL, I've reached by "likes" quota for today so Might nail one of these to the bedroom wall and see if the missus notices what I bought using her PayPal account Love it! Can everybody who grabs a placard please follow this lead and either take them home or pop it in a recycling bin.
  6. I also feel those people don't realize how lucky they are to have never experienced a mental illness. That's an assumption, yes. But I honestly can't see anyone who has ever been directly affected by a mental illness making those kind of comments.
  7. Mitch Clark has retired. Really feel for the poor bloke.
  8. Guys. No need to fight about this. Everybody is entitled to their opinion. If we could all just keep that in mind, that would be great. At the end of the day, we are all supporters of the same club.
  9. Just pick one up at the ground mate. We will be handing them out on the concourse and in the park. Not being on the TV side won't stop us giving you a placard by any means! We simply encourage those who ARE TV side to get involved.
  10. Just on this, I know you are behind the campaign, and I for one thank you for the support. However, I also agree with what you are getting at here. If you've any suggestions as to how else we can make it clear that we don't have any issues with CFG/Manchester City, that would be great. We certainly don't want to give the impression that we aren't grateful for what they can provide, just that we love the core identity we have now and don't want to lose it.
  11. But you don't HAVE to. The advantages of City buying us won't change if they let us keep our identity. Wouldn't it be even better to see the attractive winning football (and "smash the tards") played by a team in OUR colours?
  12. Thanks to all Melbourne Heart fans for your continued support with the ‪#‎KeepTheRedAndWhite‬ campaign. Donated funds for the campaign have gone into approximately 2500 placards with the design below. These will be distributed prior to kick-off in the game against the Western Sydney Wanderers around the concourse of the stadium. Funds have also been allocated towards a banner/pullover with a similar message. We thank everyone for the donations so far and encourage those who haven’t to still do so. What can you do now? • Make sure you get to the game a little earlier than usual and look around the concourse/carpark to collect your placard. • We ask that prior to kick off and during the game to hold the placards in the air, in support of keeping the red and white, especially during our team song “So Happy Together” • Bring everything you can that has red and white on it including banners, flags etc. Our aim is to create a colourful atmosphere by celebrating and supporting our club and colours so our new owners are aware how much they mean to us. • Continue to spread the #KeepTheRedAndWhite message on all social media platforms, and share this post on your timeline. Melbourne is RED AND WHITE!
  13. The problem with the Northery era (I am that old that I remember seeing us play Melbourne in the 1989 finals series), The Balme era and that 2000 Season was too many Melbourne fans only stayed around when it was finals time. In the 1960 its been often written that Melbourne had even more supporters than Collingwood... I always wonder what the hell happened? indeed that is all too often the case. numbers dwindle during the year then come finals time they increase. hence the long running snow jokes. Not to mention little kids are often influenced by on field and their mates. There was a down right heartbreaking audio clip floating around last year of Dees fans calling up the radio, and one told a story of how his son had come up to him at the end of a game (the horror that was gc I believe) handed his dad his jersey and asked for a Richmond one. When his dad asked why, the kid replied "dad they don't even try". Say that happens a few dozen times each poor season, and over the generations the numbers will drop a fair bit. On that though, one other story that really got to me was how someone was sitting near an old bloke at a game who, come half time, stood up, removed his Melbourne scarf and hat, put them on the seat and never came back. Without wanting to seem overly dramatic, we need to start showing something really soon, or we just won't be around in a few years. Last year was lower than the merger era - keeping in mind in 1996, melbourne members voted in favour of merging, it was only that Hawthorn fans voted against it that allowed the two clubs to remain separate entities. In all honesty, I'd put money on our members voting to merge if the choice were presented again now.
