  1. The Timmy Cahill School for Kids Who Can't Play Soccer Good and Want to Do Other Stuff Good Too ...

  2. Some quality comments there. But, let's be serious for a sec, people can do whatever the fuck they want as far as I'm concerned, but I honestly don't understand why this transgender stuff isn't considered a mental illness given other things that society would consider a mental illness. Again, as long as they're not hurting anyone I really dont care if people want to dress up and act like a different gender, I'm just saying like many of these PC issues there is some serious hypocrisy going on. Eg if I, Tesla, a human male, decided I was a dog and walked around on all fours barking I'd be considered mentally ill and probably locked up. But If I decided I'm a female and walked around dressed as a female I am completely sane and can continue on my merry way with the support of the PC crowd as a hero of the oppressed masses. Am I missing something here?

  6. Still in the best 2 or 3 tonight. Even Barcelona and Real Madrid don't win every game and there are generally few good performances when a team loses. He proved him self against England and Greece in the previous matches. In fact, he has shown he is close to being the best outfield player Australia has. There seems to be this issue in this country that people think our league is so far off the top leagues in the world that our players aren't good enough for that level. Mooy has proven in these internationals that he is. There are worse leagues in the world that have players moving straight to the best leagues in Europe, no reason why the best (or second best after Bruno) player in a decent league like the a-league can't cut it at any club apart from maybe the best 10-15 clubs in Europe. These international matches have left me way more confident that Mooy can play in the EPL or even a better league, and since he has an EU passport and will probably be a reasonably cheap transfer I'm sure clubs are literally lineing up for him (and if the rumours are true then they are, he has been linked with at least 10 clubs in Europe by now)

  7. Nobody outside of soccer fans have heard of Tim Cahill? Surely this is a pisstake? Aside from Ronaldo and Messi there is no bigger name in world football for the average Aussie. You mention the name Tim Cahill and everyone knows exactly who you're talking about. Tim Cahill is an Australian icon and everyone I know who knows nothing about soccer knows Tim Cahill! Will he improve our team? Probably not. Would he be a massive name and draw in fans like crazy? Yes. No question.

  8. A message through Social Media is fair game, but that (if true) is stepping over the line and is harassment (heading towards stalking). Not cool dude.

  9. A twist on this homosexuality is against nature etc etc is nature itself will always try to achieve an equilibrium of everything so that when that equilibrium is tipped in one direction nature will of itself adjust to bring it back. It is arguable that the human population has exceeded optimal level to live sustainably on Earth to which it could be argued that homosexuality (based on the premise that it is something you are born with), is natures way of pushing back via people who are more likely not to reproduce. Didnt quite get across how I wanted it to sound. But im sure you understand the gist.

  10. I'll be disappointed if he leaves, but not really shocked. Its pretty clear Harry's issues have nothing to do with his playing ability. I mean the Turkish 2nd division? seriously? if he makes that move he's not far from the end of the road, regardless of talent. One thing I will say, he is one bloke you wouldn't want around if he didn't want to be there. If he was capable of carrying on like a professional when he was unhappy, he never would have come to Melbourne in the first place.

  11. A very sensible article from Smithies IMO. Too many people assume that we have unlimited financial resources at our disposal, and this is just not the case. CFG is a business, and its component parts run as businesses, and we are no exception.

  13. I wasn't aware that AFL existed in any meaningful form other than in Australia - perhaps a couple of expat teams kicking a ball somewhere, but no real competition. So I don't really think comparisons with AFL make much sense. What I do with my City Premium A foundation membership is a qualitative assessment of what value I get for what I pay - 2*$585 for MrsJW and me. We renewed for next season because last season we were able to move to seats under cover. However, prior to that move it wasn't really worth it, especially in the first two seasons when it seemed to rain every time Heart played at home and we either had to change seats or get wet. I'd summarise our attitude so far as being renewal out of habit rather than eagerness and anticipation for the next season, and I think City is pushing the upper limit of value for Premium A. If I could get seats under cover in Premium B we'd move there for sure.

  17. Increased testosterone levels have enormous benefits in males. Everything from increased strength and body composition to increased confidence and better emotional health. Of course men with higher levels of testosterone are going to be more likely to succeed in whichever field they choose.

  19. I've done a gender studies subject at uni before. Some things I'll point out: 1. There's a general censuses that sex is something that you're born with. It's a scientific classification based upon genitalia; whereas gender is a social construct and is influenced by society, conventions, social scripts etc. You can fit in different places along the gender spectrum. This is more how you feel. 2. Sex change operations and hormonal therapy are extremely hard things to get (I'd argue way too hard) and potential patients are put through a very rigorous assessment process that has medical, psychological and legal hoops that need to be jumped through. Which is pretty rough on the poor kids who often know what they are on the inside, but have to be poked and proded at for years before they're given permission to undergo a procedure. 3. The rate of these people "changing their mind" is extremely low. But the kids are put on hormone blockers until they reach an appropriate age where they can make a final informed decision.

  20. "Trans rights" is like talking about "hummingbird rights", no one gives a fuck about them enough to hate them. They make up about -0.349 percent of the world population and if I think they're weird or odd thats not hate, if I don't want my daughter going to the toilet with a middle aged bloke in a dress, thats not hate. I honestly don't get the hysteria of stating biological facts. While the west are deciding if is racist that straight guy doesnt wanna drop a load in Bruce Jenner, islamist are plotting the downfall of european culture and tradition, so far they're doing a pretty decent fucking job. Leftism is the true mental illness.

  21. Theres a difference between being accepting of trans and pandering to their insecurities tho. I couldnt care less what people do/are, but id stop at halting normality to please the pc police, let alone spending government funds on trans toilets etc

  23. Well done from the club. Absolutely loved seeing the LED advertisement during the game and great to hear they had an advertisement during half time. We can often be a bunch of whinging cunts but credit where credits due. Now, more of this please Melbourne City.

  24. Honestly I think the club did well. We always complain that they don't take opportunities like this when they come around. Last night they had a membership tent, the sideline advertising and an add on the big screens at half time. Didn't see anything from victory.

  26. Once again the sport I love being targeted because a few flares were lit and only 5 people were evicted from 35,000. For sure throw the book at them, fuck them off completely. I'm annoyed because I'm tired of the media attacking the sport as a whole. I'm not one of those idiots, neither are any of my family or friends that support the sport. We as a whole are constantly tarnished because the media decides to use any incidents against the whole sport.

  27. With a rebuild of more than half the team and JvS coaching we're not going to win the league next season. If we couldn't win after smashing goal scoring records and Mooy and Bruno and Harry we won't win after losing Mooy and Harry. So even if Cahill and Bruno cancel each other out - no big deal. It would be a boost to the club's profile and attendance.

  29. I agree he was one of our best and he probably is the only Socceroo player who can move through midfield traffic with his touch and positioning and his passing. Rogic can dribble past players, but he doesn't have the range and vision of Mooy. The Greeks man marked Mooy the whole game and generally as soon as he was in possession he was double teamed. Despite this, he still made good passes and was able to get the ball forward in good areas. He really does need to resolve his free kick / corner taking ... At the start of last season he was pretty much deadly 9 times out of 10, but after his injury he lost his free kick consistency mojo and it hasn't returned. It was a good lesson for Ang and the Socceroos last night. Ang needs to develop a Plan B for when his possession game is not working. Mostly against Asian opponents, we can manage this style of game. Even against good European or South American teams, if they play their own attacking style and dont worry about countering our game-plan we can do OK and it will be an entertaining game (i.e. the match against England). BUT, if one of these better, higher ranking teams decides to let us have the ball in areas where they can close us down and crowd out our midfield, and then hit us on the counter, we will get destroyed everytime. .

  30. The last thing this league needs is one Ethnic Club amongst a bunch of Non Ethnic Clubs, the Ethnic Connections of South would be heightened even more as things went on by their fans and more importantly by those of the other clubs. It would be like on a much minor larger scale what happens with Celtic in Scotland... which nobody can describe as a good situation.

  32. lol shittest half of international football I've witnessed in recent memory, 65% useless possession, horrible passing, zero defence, no finishers and the Greeks are falling over and dying every opportunity. That Maniatis goal was something special though, although Federici did a fantastic job living up to his fuck-up reputation.
