Matthew Spiranovic. A Geelong / Melbourne boy and a fine CB. Getting no game time lately (not even on the bench) for Urawa Red Diamonds in the J-League. Could be the Heart's Australian Marquee and he needs game time in the lead-up to the World Cup qualifiers.

always rated him very highly

a very tall and strong left footed CB

would love to have him in the team, not too sure if i'd have him on marquee wages though but would take him for 200-250k a season

Seeing as the k-league is played over our off season, i wonder if he could come to us on a full season loan? (including our finals campaign obviously)

It would be perfect for him to get some game time

Dr Peter Brunker as the head of our medical team.

Seems he's just been given the word that he'll not be required by the best club in the world next year and therefore is available. With apologises to Martin Wollert, who seems like a nice fellow, I think we can do better than having every midfielder injured at the same time and have our best player come back from injury only to have to come off prematuredly having aggravated that injury.

Brunker would surely bring the latest ideas in from a demanding league like the EPL and should raise our professionalism in this vital area.

Brukner would be great. Is he coming back to Melbourne? We also need an improvement in our strength and conditioning team, we weren't fit enough this season.

THE FUTURE

Ante Milicic or John Aloisi are almost certain to be named as the new coach. Two or three shrewd signings, including an attacker and combative defensive midfielder, could see them challenge for a top two spot.

OUT: Craig Goodwin (Newcastle), Kristian Sarkies, Rutger Worm, Alex Terra, Klim Taseski, Maycon, Nikola Roganovic, Kamal Ibrahim, Paul Reid (all released).

IN: Andrew Redmayne (Brisbane).

TARGETS: Dario Vidosic (Adelaide), Ben Halloran (Gold Coast).

So Goodwin is gone already?

No, don't lose out hope on Goodwin, he is by no means a lost cause yet!

We are now officially linked with Ben Halloran and Dario Vidosic! :) :)

Can you chaps Imagine:

Bolton/Redmayne

Marrone --- CB --- Good/Hamill --- Behich

Germano/Srhoj/Thompson

Fred --------- Vidosic

Dugandzic ---------- Babalj/Halloran ---------- Goodwin

Edit: Martin is an absolute genius, although he currently has the resources and facillities of a 3 world country, give him a break, he does the job of 3 men.

That article also states that:

- we only conceded 3 goals,

- Colosimo was good,

- doesn't give Maycon a rating,

- we need another defensive Mid (with no mention of a CB)

- Paul Reid was released (even though he finished his short-term contract 6 weeks ago)

Maycon still scored as many goals for the club as Hoff and in quite a few less games: In fact technically Hoff's one goal up in Sydney was going to miss until it took a defenders deflection.

A Forward as shit as Maycon and yet we re-signed this guy for a another Year?

Closest link I can find is that perhaps the Herald Sun is the official A-League newspaper? If it's in the paper it just has to be true

Cadet......Would I be wrong in saying Hoffman started out life as a defender? Could have him mixed up but he sure as hell ain't a goalscorer.

That article was so misinformed, just read some of the player ratings, and apparently Kalmar made 3 performances this year.

3 appearances or performances? kalmar played against newcastle first round, perth second round and also perth in the finals so there's 3 appearances

Vidosic would be AMAZING to have. Very versatile player, can play as an AM behind the strikers, as a right midfielder and even as a striker. Although we would only sign him if he terminates the contract with Adelaide, so fingers crossed.

Obviously goodwin was going to newcastle, but after what has happened the last few days, you would think he'd come back to heart?

IMO if we have Vidosic, Halloran (possibly kept goodwin), we will be a top 3-4 team. Add a couple of quality visa players and we'll be top 2 and challenging next season.

Hoffman is a great goal scorer ..... but not at HAL level. He has 2 problems to overcome, he scores consistently when given space, space that he'll never have at HAL level and this is something he needs to work on this coming season. His second issue is that he becomes anxious and over thinks in scoring situations and so either takes too much time and misses the opportunity or kicks wide. He is young but not so young that we shouldn't expect him to have become better at overcoming these issues by now.

Halloran at striker LR9? lol.

Goodwin is more suited to LB then Behich is, hold position a lot better, Behich has better acceleration, speed & control for wing.

Vidosic would be great, he started off great at Adelaide but went off it, because they were fucking shit, but would definitely work well in our formation.
