Either Mauk or Garruccio two Adelaide boys with talent that Adelaide United were too stupid to sign. I think they may have learned their lesson now. The lost Goodwin Mauk and Garruccio all in the space of a couple of years all because the so called idiots there couldn't recognise real talent. Our gain. Just have to get Goodwin back I believe he is off contract soon. JVS obviously shows faith in the young guys and knows if they can deal with the first team pressures. what's the deal with Jeremy Walker lately, Injured or something. He was fantastic last year.

Have to totally agree. GVE has got them playing the most boring football. Last weeks game Jets V Perth was the worst game I have ever watched. Brown is a shadow of himself under GVE than when they got him from the Gold Coast. He was on fire up there. I fear Goody is going backwards under GVE. He should be given a licence to run like he did with us and last year. Fuck we will have him back if they fuck him around.

True. Aziz is a champion and Goodwin is a Champion. Just sorry we could not see Aziz left back and Goodwin Left wing. Would have been awesome. One thing is for sure both will feature for the Socceroos at some stage. Hopefully both together.

Where is Brodie Patterson. ? Did he get a gig overseas, or not picked. If he did not get picked that is a real shock. Good to see the best of last years regulars there. Paulo Retre will be looking to turn it on agasint the retards, his old club.

At least he will add good experience for the younger lads. Just hope he does it by example.

Ben is another South Aussie lad I read. JA has some good connections back there. Zac Walker was picked up playing in the SA State league, (but is from Wodonga) another good player. Are Adelaide United that blind that they cannot pick these kids right under their noses. They could not even recognise the talent in Goodwin for their youth team. If Ben turns out to be class I reckon Adelaide need to ask some serious questions about their own club.

Melbourne Heart previewed on The World Game next Monday 20th August. The looked at Mariners last night. Looks like they are going through each club before the season starts.

Regardless of name calling and insults Zac is a good player who I believe has the goods. Yes we do have a quota of strikers already, just don't complain if he signs for someone else (on a senior contract) later in the year (and if he performs well in our NYL side). The questions will be then, why didn't we sign him when we had the chance. If he performs well in our youth side, he will get a call up when needed. If Zac performs well when he gets his chance then the club will sign him. All else at this stage is pure scenarios. Just dont make the mistake with Walker like we did Goodwin. It is smart by the club to keep a senior spot open in the roster for such cases.

The thing that is hard for clubs and the individual is that players that come to Melbourne from outside Melbourne have to pay rent and have living expenses as well. So $600 odd dollars a month on a youth wage is cutting things close. So if the player has great potential he will obviously be training with the first team as well, which minimises his chance to work part time to pay the bills. I understand that if he wants it bad enough then you go through whatever you have to do to make it. But if we take too long to sign a player like Walker then another club will come calling and we could lose him. But of course he has to prove himself on the A-League stage first. Good luck to him, he certainly proved he can score goals. Hope he gets his chance.

Zac Walker looked very lively tonight. Sign him up as at least a squad player. He will do the job if required. We have some qulaity youth players. Don't let any club poach them get them on board now.

Really feel for Zahra. He had huge potential, and was never the same after that bastard of a tackle. Wish him all the best and hope he can find that form again.

Aziz is a quality player and a huge loss if he goes. But good luck to him for having the ability to progress to the next level. He will be badly missed but he is a Heart original. Just seems a shame that a heap of players are going prior to the season starting. Leaves little time for a full squad to gel. But the youth team, had a heap of players that probably deserve a chance to prove themselves. Just hope that JD and JA have options up their sleeves to replace the lost players. If we can knock off the tards round one, smiles will be all round.

Zac does have a good eye for goal. If he had the chance to train with the first team Aloisi would get the best out of him as a former striker himself. Really hope at least 2 of the youth guys get a contract.

Good news for him but not for us. :-( But thats ok, @Markn thinks Goodwin is crap. He seems to be developing well so far. I for one, would welcome him back if it were the case. Hope he has a shit game when he plays us.

Would be good to see Philip Petreski and Jeremy Walker be looked at for the covering spots for left and right back as senior squad players. Along with Zac Walker for a striker backup. Will be interesting to see who we get for the youth team this coming season. There were some great players for the youth team last year that had huge potential.

Spot on. That way we could sign say 28 of the promising young ones for the minumum wage and still be under the salary cap. Also it means we can on sell them and make some money out of them rather than lose them for nothing as we did Goodwin because he was only on a youth contract. The FFA need to look seriously at this as clubs will continue to lose money and prospects if the salary cap remain at 23. We have too many overpaid pop stars in some teams that are not performing, and young guys on minimum wage with great talent and and we lose them. But at least we get some good money for them.

At least play Zac Walker in preseason games and give him a fair go up front. I reckon he would make a good squad player with the ability to prove himself.

Ron Smith with his knowledge of the Australian game and being a technical director will be a great pick if true. Especially if the youth and seniors train together.

Excellent, great prospects for the club. I hope Zac Walker was part of this squad somewhere. I rekcon there were about 5 players that were outstanding from the youth team that could be future potential. Will be interesting to see who makes this years youth squad. Can anyone give us the inside story on which youth team players are training with the first team. ? Bring on October, can't wait already.

I think they were taking the piss, Goodwin is with Newcastle now. Papas is staying in India.Sounds like he is on a good paying wicket. To say Goodwin should not have been given the privilage of not playing in a Heart shirt is rediculous. We think it is ok for Curtis and Eli to go to better environments but not Goodwin. He was always going to be second fiddle for the left back spot behind Aziz. The kid is only trying to further his career. I think he would have been a great prospect at left mid with Aziz at left back. At least it is us that gave him his start and no one else. We may get him back one day. Who the fuck would want to go to India to further their career as a player. :-)

If Papas was valued more at Heart I have no doubt that Goodwin would have stayed. As well as Papas having many contacts with quality young players the talent would have been endless. It was Papas that brought Goodwin to Victoria in the first place after Adelaide were too blind not to pick him up. Good luck to the kid, he is only trying to make a start in the game. The youth side had 3 or 4 more quality youngsters that probably could easily be signed up. Just dont take too long otherwise another club will come sniffing if they have good seasons in the VPL. Losing Curtis Good concerns me a lot, but good luck to him. It is what all young players strive to be. If we were to lose say Marrone, Behich or Duganzic then I would be really worried.
