If you are seriously ill it will be of major benefit. If you want to change GP it will be of major benefit. If you have some issues you’d rather keep to yourself it could be a serious problem. At present based on the above I think I’ll stay in.

Records are already portable from GP to GP - as a patient you can insist on it and I have done so. I don't think you need a national database to do that. I'll accept your first point if the database sorted the wheat from the chaff. So If I could be satisfied that the really important information was being kept accurately and completely, then I'd see a value in the database both for the individual and the epidemiologist. Tesla
I wonder why Indians are always on the phone. Whether it's on the train, at work, while driving a taxi, while serving you at 7 eleven, etc. They are always on the phone. Must be a very social culture they have I guess, but still who the fuck do you need to talk to that much. HeartFc
They love mumble whispering to their pregnant wives in Bangalore at 3am while driving me home. EDIT: Indians act less Indian in QLD. I actually had a ripper convo on the way back from the airport in Brisbane with one Indian dude. On the same day on the way to Melbourne Airport I needed a gas mask to breathe, the bloke was rude as shit and purposely took a longer way. The pressure to fit in up North in bigger therefor they act less like Indians and more like Aussies. #RacismWorks Edited September 18, 2018 by HeartFc

jw1739
I wonder...whether all these (expensive) advertising campaigns about stopping domestic violence actually have any impact? The best they can do is get neighbours, friends (external people) to report it if they think DV is happening. Problem is domestic violence is domestic, hence most of the time it occurs inside away from external eyes. But hey at least they are trying to do something about it. TBH I can't think of a better way.

The anti drink and driving push had a two prong approach one of which was advertising. And if you recall in 1970 the Victorian road toll was over 1000 per year back then. The first driver found guilty of killing someone because of drunkenness was in 1977 and the next one was in 1985 and thereafter a whole lot of drunks were jailed. I didn't come to Victoria until 1991, so I'm not familiar with past history and performance in this State. Personally I'm super-saturated with government advertising, however worthy the topic is. Well it’s been a crime for pretty much ever so that’s no change. The thing is the fuckers who do this know it’s not acceptable so they are cunning as to when they act. The ad gets me in that despite the wide variety of people I have hung around with in my life, I’ve never been in a situation where a conversation like that bloke is having on the phone happens. If it helps good o, but I just think it’s not as cute as that and nowhere near as easy for a 3rd party to be aware of it.

Just in case, John Cain changed the laws in 1985 to create the charge of killing by drunkenness which is why more people have been charged and found guilty. Prior to that the standard defence was "there but for the grace of God goes I" and precedence. Unfortunately in my life it has happened three times. The first two were just violent fuckers who just liked blueing with anyone including their partners. They were poor company and the intersecting circles vanished quickly. The third time was a good friend of mine that I had no idea what was going on until one day I witnessed it. We had a fairly strong change of words and he sought counselling.
