I think we try to bend over backwards to fit him in the cap. Even if thats a 3 year 6-700k Troisi/Miersijewski deal and at the sacrifice of a little bit of depth. He's a gun and the best CB in the league. I dont however think we should use the other marquee slot on him. Even if that means letting him go. Happy to be shown otherwise, but i dont reckon there's been an A League premier or champion with a marquee CB to date, and he's a player we've had under the cap for two years with other marquees and still not made a GF with. He's bloody good, but he's already an ingredient we've got, not the magic one we dont.

Isn't Tony Pignata, formerly CEO of Sydney, the CEO of Perth now? These two clubs seem to know how to get top A-League players under the cap and decent marquees outside it. We're not going to get close to them unless we get better players.

As much as I love Bart and rate him as the best defender in the league, we don't need him to win the title. Galloway/Good/Delbridge/Jamieson in front of Bouzanis/Birighitti wins us a title IMO. But we'd need to find a pretty good midfielder to compensate. Someone who can basically control the tempo of the game and create plenty of chances. A quick, goalscoring winger would complete our team.

I have my doubts this is as black aand white as people are making it out to be. I'd say they've (Security) still fucked up by not employing some common sense, but imo the dad won't be as innocent as its being made out. MIght have been a poor reaction to the security telling him to go to the other end.

Based purely on output as a player and not results; Marrone - Dont think his output is better than Heart days Jakobsen - No Goodwin - Big Yes Franjic - Slight Yes Kilkenny - Slight Yes (was good for us when he played obv) Velaphi - Big No Redmayne - Big Yes Zullo - Big Yes (His output for us was bordering on terrible, although he always had potential if he got a clean run at it) Wilkinson - Similar. Good for both, got put into a better team Caceres - No Retre - Yes, but still nothing groundbreaking Lesiotis - Proba slight yes given he's getting some game time Williams - Par imo. Often underrated amongst our fans imo. So about 50-50, maybe slightly that players have gone on. Tbf it doesnt take into account all the ones that bombed either.
