Ando
Herein I shall occasionally come down from my mountaintop home and dispense wisdom and commands relating to my expectations of the terrace on match-day. This thread will also serve as a conduit for you all to workshop original chant/song ideas because that's what we need. - Commissar Ando
Ando
No al canto brigata verde moderno All Green Brigade chants/songs will most likely be retired by the end of the season. This is disappointing, but clearly A-League groups have no concept of originality and I think we can do better in this regard. The straw that broke the camel's back was hearing The Beach singing 'Come on you boys in gold' against Visitors FC the other night. We need to stop looking to YouTube for our songs/chants, and instead take inspiration from our own cultural backgrounds. I have this belief in the terrace, we can do it.

Woody
Not the greatest song, but still has me humming the chorus after a few days. I know I wasn't there, but maybe some connection with the CCM game last year in the rain and the chorus? Chants are not my strong point

CALZALOL
Rangers FC- Why don't you go home. I already suggested it and I am 99.99% sure that no-one in the A-League does it. I tried starting it when the sub for Wellington was getting us yelling at him. Could give it a try next game I think. Sorry to any celtic fans, no sectarianism intended here. No, shit chant with shit connotations attached. We can do much better. Also: this thread is for original chants - the chant you are suggesting is not. It is Sloop John B which has been used for numerous different situations. Edited March 12, 2012 by marteaux

kingawesomeness
Despite it being not the world's greatest song, we could do a chant to the sound of Bounce by Calvin Harris. Begin with everyone with their arms raised. Copy the sound the keyboard makes, then when there's the break between each section, you clap once. After going through the four sections once fully, everyone links arms and bounces for the next four sections. Eg. Do do do do do do do do *clap* Do do do do do do do do *clap* Do do do do do do do do do *clap* Do do do do do do do do *clap, then link arms and jump* Do do do do do do do do etc Nearly impossible to explain properly via phone, but does that make sense?

Am a fan of any new catchy beats being made into chants. Particularly after hearing a loud bunch of drunk Germans chanting this when leaving Cocoon Nightclub Frankfurt @ 7 in the morning circa 2010: De de de de de, de de deeeeeeeee. "Credit to Legia Warsaw for inspiration we could maybe improvise from this probably, up to you guys." What I was trying to say is maybe alter the chant or use it as a template to create something out of it rather swapping club names in the lyrics
