  1. Do you really think they will just bail out now and have not planned for such results? Clearly this season was a trial for all those who were at the club when purchased. I think or hope that changes will come by January.
  2. Get in Germano and the Gooch to play at the back. If we are not going to play Villa up front then I don't know why we wouldn't just put Williams there instead of Mate.
  3. Get the group up and going first then let the name come organically as the season goes on.
  4. What a coincidence that the protest only really came into fruition after the fines for the flares. They didn't seem to have much of a problem with the club/FFA, etc. before the ACL match. In fact you would have thought that the ACL match would be the best time to raise awareness over the issues. Funny that.
  5. Never thought I'd live to see the day where we win an away game again.
  6. Great trip, dunno if it's considered away but I would put it up there as one of the better away days I have been too. Great fun with the people who came around on that terrace section, good spot for it too. I don't really care too much about flares, but just against the fact that other people get done for it when they are just enjoying the game. In regards to the game, wasn't the best, but it was hot, we saw a few goals out of it and got the win, which I will take for travelling the 4 hours. Loved seeing Paddy K get into.
  7. After letting it sink in over the past few days I have had a bit of a change of mind and definitely think we need to keep our name and colours of course. Even though associated with mediocrity, the current name is something that I have grown to love over the past few years, especially through the bad times. To change the name would just seem to be disrespectful to the passionate supporters that have actually stuck around when things were shit. Also the fact that even though we didn't all like the name Heart at the start, it is the name that we got behind as the beginning of a new era of Australian football. Bad history is still history, even short and the Heart name represents the club I support. Changing to City and sky blue to connect with the Man City brand is a bad idea, because we are already connected to the Melbourne identity that we have grown to. (Not to mention the fact that Sky Blue represents everything NSW and everything Melbourne isn't.
  8. I welcome the change. This club has been down at the bottom since basically the start and I thought even the Storm consortium would be ideal enough considering where we are but this is amazing. The change in name is acceptable, we keep the Melbourne name and we can always keep the Heart mantra, but the colours have to stay the same as noted many times before. I wouldn't even say its entirely about not wanting to be exactly like Man City. It's more about the context of the colours in the Australian sporting environment. Sky Blue is NSW and will always be NSW. That will never change. Red and white has played a huge part in this club and needs to play a huge part in the future too. I am glad too see the people from City actually thoroughly involved and active in this take over. It was good to see the CEO in Melbourne when they easily could have sent over a representative. They have done their research and really show a passion for the development of the club, which is exciting to see for once. Looking forward to things getting better.
  9. Yeah because if we were located in the South East we would magically start winning games, I see where you are coming from. Dumbcunt response from a dumb cunt. This isn't Sydney, the south east suburbanites don't identify with their area like West Sydney people do. 90,000+ people went to the Liverpool game at the MCG which suggests the entire Melbourne market has huge potential. An area specific team wouldn't see any more money from the board, which would have seen the same poor results. And why would a board invest more in a market with less potential? We probably would have been worse. So why surrender 2/3 or even more of the market to Victory for an ineffective "Geographical divide" when it will never work, or at least not in today's climate.
  10. Yeah because if we were located in the South East we would magically start winning games, I see where you are coming from.
  11. Any chance of Mauk starting behind Mifsud? Would like to see him have a go now that Harry isn't playing, and if Kalmar isn't up to scratch then I would prefer him playing there instead of someone like Williams.
  12. Pathetic really. Even if we have played well to an extent it means stuff all when you can't put the ball in the back of the net.
  13. Booked with ThePolo and Joel21 + 2 more. Keen for this trip again, enjoyed last time despite the loss.
  14. Scout out the VPL for some locals that might actually play with some passion.

    Miron IN

Assistant Miron. Bomber Thompson like role where he really does all the coaching.
  16. I swear we play offside more than any other team, it's terrible.

    Glad all over

As a Palace fan I love this idea.
  18. The stadium has a roof doesn't it? So the weather is irrelevant.
  19. What's with the hostility in the thread title. Yes, he is losing his touch and it's time to move on for him, but this guy has done a lot in the short history of the club.
  20. If we were actually louder than the Victory supporters they must have been far worse than I thought. We weren't really helped by the Derby Specials that showed up, so I'm surprised that we were as loud. As for the game, we had our chances and just couldn't finish, adding to them getting the run of decisions from the ref resulted in the loss, but it was pretty even overall, which was good considering our inexperience and fairly new set up on the park.

    VINNIE GRELLA

Sorry to sidereel shit, but are you serious? I have always had respect for the Grog Squad (For a number of reasons) but we have been singing "Paul Chapman" over and over at the Grog Squad since like 2005, bit lame that they have ripped it off if you ask me. I doubt there would be anything original in any Grog squad in the AFL. Although you got to give it to them for at least trying to bring some atmosphere to footy, as well as the lads at the Cattery.
  22. Does anyone know how many members we currently have? Will try to bring at least 3 friends along to the game on Friday.
