Just watching all the goals from this round tells me that this league has a lot to offer for football fans who aren’t following the league or supporting a club. There were quite a few quality goals and entertaining matches.

Looking at it as a neutral I would agree. I think the quality of the League as whole is continually improving. The visa players as whole generally speaking are coming in younger and closer to their peaks and most teams have a couple young players emerging. As a result it's probably of a higher standard overall than it's ever been.

The big area that continues to disappoint for me are senior Australian pros. They just move from side to side and generally don't offer much. I get that cap and restrictions are in place as a safety net but it now limits clubs and actually rewards average players.

My theory RE WSW.

They gave Poppa too much control at the start. He basically became the epitome of it. He left and now its all collapsed. Oh also bad recruiting of the Aus players, which I dont think you can put that on Babble

But I still think their new stadium will be absolutely huge for them. They already have support big enough to almost fill it and I reckon they are going to be almost impossible to beat at home.

I thought they were silly about Gombau. Now I’m not saying he’s Christ re-incarnated but the bloke is known to be a “longer term” focus kind of guy, so once you hire him you need to give him that time, or don’t hire him in the first place.

As to Babel, signing a coach due to his playing CV has a long history of failure. They shouldn’t be shocked if hasn’t worked out.

Shows the gulf between us and the tards I’m afraid. They can comeback but we just lose.

Have to say how impressed I am by the ability of other top six sides to score goals when they need them. Joyce appears to have made changes at City but I still feel that the fundamental will to win when the chips are down, and the self-belief that they can, is missing from our club.

At least Central Coast have done us a favour by beating Newcastle and we can no longer be fingered as the only team to lose to them this season. But Phoenix are thrashing Western Sydney, and IMO their scoring prowess is going to take them to 4th place.

Thrilling match.

Feel for Adelaide, they did so well to stay in it. Fought back three times and played with a lot of heart. Perth have been the best team all season though, so should be in the GF.

Both teams need to work on their penalties. Pays dividends if you’ve got five good takers.
