And there actually was a lot of media pre-World Cup saying that Lampard was going to NYCFC, so it's not like there hasn't been a lot of smoke around that potential move. The latest on Xavi seems to be that he is pretty much certain to sign a 3 year contract with NYCFC, worth 6 million Euros a year. Anyway, I think there's bound to be some news probably before this month ends. And I think all the smoke around a Lampard guest stint here might be onto something. Hopefully all this stalling is because they are convincing lamps to come here permanently. With xavi and FFA being large factors in them pushing for this outcome God damn, that would be awesome if he came here permanently. Maybe that explains the recent article from his wife, too? Reported Drogba was offered 6m pounds after tax in Qatar which so far he's turned down, which would be about 20m Australian salary. Read he may go back to Chelsea, seems his price tag is too high for us, as much as he'd be absolutely the best for us. In fairness, Balotelli was brought in specifically because Mancini pushed hard for him as the two had been very close before (Balotelli describes Mancini as his second father) and was disposed of when the board members got fed up with his behaviour. Tevez was bought back in 2009, when we were a much more desperate club with fewer of the guiding principles that we currently operate by, and after he went AWOL, his days were numbered at the club. Yaya was always considered quite a quiet character off the pitch until recently. There are already rumblings amongst the fans that City intend to hold him to his contract this season, purely to show him that we don't bow to pressure, and then when it's all blown over in a year or so he'll be sold at the first opportunity. To me if they are that's a bonus, but as long as they do their job and don't create too many issues then so be it. Alot of the all time greats have egos and personalities that create frictions. Its these qualities to an extent pushes them to greatness. Ibrahimovic and Suarez to name 2. Both without question are individualist in nature, but are the sort of player you could build a team around to win with. Having said that I would be reluctant to have both in the same team. Well I don't know much about Hoffman other that he seems to split opinion on here lol Personally when I saw Germano play at RB last season (seem to rememeber he came on for Hoffman) I thought he was much better in that position.
