The board have given JA their approval, and that is that. For now...

In the normal football word this means the manager is fired soon, however I reckon even the club will fuck that up and give him a comtract extension

or they'll sack him and then appoint a work experience student on no pay and spin the appointment as 'our youth policy at work'.

They will just get one of the players dads to volunteer.

EDIT: just hope it's not Hoffmans, captain and starting every week would make me want to gouge me eyes out. Not to mention ol Jase will be on set piece duty

I don't think that we should hold the Board responsible for everything that is happening. Yes, the Board approved the appointment of Aloisi, but they will not be dealing with day-to-day affairs. Indeed, if they did they would be accused of meddling.

The Board will have regular meetings, probably once per month (maybe more frequently in the season?) and their role is strategic direction. They will have a set of Board papers in front of them dealing with the various aspects of the club - finances, community, sponsorship, football etc. - a number of which will contain recommendations put by the administration. The chief conduit at Board meetings is usually the CEO, so in our case it will be Munn. Occasionally other senior executives will be required to front the Board, particularly if major expenditures, and/or major changes in the organization's strategic direction are being recommended. We know for example that both Didulica and Aloisi fronted the Board recently.

My experience is that Boards and senior executives rely very heavily on the professional advice given to them by management and specialists within the organization.

The Board undoubtedly won't like the results they're seeing on the field, but they'll be relying on the advice given to them as to whether they need to make any changes in personnel etc. No doubt that they will be asking some fairly hard questions, but at the moment it would appear that the advice they're getting is "steady as she goes, we can turn this around."

The blowtorch needs to be applied lower down the organization.

The club needs to stop hiding from the supporters and members.. Front up and put an end to this rubbish.

If you are going to back JA... then come out and say that, so we can put a stop on the uncertainty and speculation. If your going to sack him then do it and show all of us that the board can make the big calls and is invested in the future of this club.

I have my own view on what should happen to JA and H. Fox, but is not about that.

As a foundation member I for one want to know where are we headed? ATM no-one knows. Is JA going to be sacked if we lose this week to WSW? what if we get a result but then lose to Sydney FC?, or even wores... we get flogged by Victory at AAMI park.

TIME TO ACT IS NOW...!!!! we are all behind the club, but show some back bone.

I wrote to the the Chairman as a foundation member and laid out my concerns, not so much about results but expressing the view that we have moved a long way from our stated ideals of developing emerging young talent and playing an attractive and technical style of football, and asked that the Board look at this and make the changes necessary to bring the club back on track. People joined up with Heart because they saw a club that actually had some values rather than being "just another A-League franchise", and I made that point. I was forceful, but polite, and did not call for anyone to be sacked etc. by name. Rather I put the onus back on the club to look at itself and ask "Are we delivering what we said we would?"

I encourage everyone to put their concerns in writing. That way Munn and/or Sidwell will see how much we actually care. At the moment I think that they think they can fob us off by calling on our loyalty to the red-and-white. They need to understand that they cannot.

This is the problem. The board seem to have little or no understanding of a football club and are certainly not developing the "community" that we desire. Worse is that they are unwilling to tap into the incredible depth of feeling, knowledge and rational thought of the members as shown on these forums. Like JS1739 I had also put forward some thoughts to the club, initially to SM then to PS. All I finally got was a 2 page letter of platitudes from SM and a call to stick with the club. When will they realise that we are all on the same side, want the same things and could be so helpful to each other in growing this club. Nothing of any note seems to be happening except our growing frustration.

While the club ('franchise') was brought into existence by the current board, its future is entirely dependent on whether the fans 'buy in' to the ideals and stick by it through thick and thin. That means financial & EMOTIONAL buy-in. With that goes displays of joy, anger, dispair, ecstasy and pain - including signs at game such as ALOISI OUT, etc. The board should be delighted that it has members who care and are showing passion. They need to tap into that and take on board members ideas.

The board isn't stupid, so don't think they don't no they've made a big mistake on JA. What we should be thinking of is, why haven't they sacked him yet...? If I was on the board I wouldn't sack him right this minute , unless the next right person for the job was available right now. We don't have a lot of money to blow so why bring in another 50/50 chance coach to fill in till next season and then have to pay JA out and the new clowns wage.

So we start looking for a great experienced coach which will take time, probably 6months or so. In the mean time, for your fans and your name you try and look half respectable as a club and try see out the season with half decent results. Also you have to keep JA as calm as possible, eg. Scott Mun comes out last week and says JA has our full backing and support and we will get through this... Rubbish Scott, that just means one thing, and that is you suits have come to an agreamant to sack JA when the time is right and not when it's panic time. Lets just ride the wave of shame as a whole this season and back off the board a bit, because I think they can and will turn this mess around.
