HEARTinator
The whole banned national flags is dumb. I can understand them not wanting clubs to become aligned and all that crap, but if you have a player of a certain nationality in your squad you should be able to wave their flag to support them. South Melbourne, Preston and Melbourne Knights ruined it for everyone! LOL Bastards
kingofhearts
Dw as much about the flag rather, worry about your support! Just make sure your singing your heart out every game rather than worrying about whether you can bring the flag or not I wouldn't think it would be a problem as long as 20+ people don't start rocking up with Maltese flags. I bloody hope not or he'll be making his debut for us in Perth FFS There's another match for Malta, against Denmark away on 15th October. It will be a matter of whether he can get back to Melbourne promptly and how fit he will be for another game so soon. Now there's a Socceroos match against Canada in London, also on 15th October. Doesn't involve Mifsud of course, but various A-League teams could be affected. It's things like this that can stuff a club's chances for the season when we've got only 27 games. Anyone that knows me well safely sage that I support this club as hard and as loud had anyone can so u wont have that problem with me. I think it's the fact us Malteses don't have a whole lot to celebrate when it comes to most things especially sports so we may tend to get a little carried away. Well I do anyways hahaha

Corn Bread
I remember during the Oakleigh vs Dandenong game after one of the heart games, a couple of kids didn't have the balls to sit with the Dandenong fans and they sat infront of us in the Heart members area, as soon as they brought out a flag, not sure of the nationality but it was a national flag for sure, and ACG guard escorted the kid out of the stadium and we never saw him again. But then right in the heart of the Dandenong fans their was about three Albanian flags and none were taken, so @Libba and @King Malta just try sit in the middle of Yarraside and hope ACG aren't feeling bored
Haydos
re flags: I remember 2 seasons ago, in the brisbane away bay at AAMI, someone produced a national flag, they were escorted out of the stadium. the person potentially got escorted due to the Brizzy fans firing up at them, and it about to kick off. but in the experiences ive seen, u go with the flag..... [LIBBA]
Spoke to him for a bit yesterday and hes a pretty nice bloke . He did say though that he will definetly be missing the first 2 games which is a shame. Was talking to him about how he think's he'll handle the flight to and from Malta to play in internationals and he's not sure how he'll as he's never played this far away from Malta before. Plus he reckons he was still feeling it a bit from when he arrived on Tuesday. Gonna be tough considering he's got a 24 hr flight 1 way. I think he may take a couple of games to really get into it.

HeartinHobart
If it is only twinge or small tear he should be running in 3 weeks and avaliable by round 3 at the worst. Which is when he was expected to make his heart debut anyway. The real concern is the increased likelihood of this reoccurring.

Nate
- One of the best squads in the league - Only half the squad will ever be available due to shocking luck and (maybe) player management Wish this wouldn't happen all the time
mattyh001
agree that the injury issue has been quite laughable (i'm not trying to let the club's program off), but remember a number of the players injured have either; (a.) been rotten luck and largely uncontrollable (ie Engelaar's broken leg), or (b.) niggles for players coming out of a lack of serious game time / rest periods since they last played (ie Wielaert hasn't played since May and only restarted in August, Misfud had four months off), or (c.) been long term injury based concerns (ie Germano) would hate to see the issue go on like last season, but not gonna start throwing stones over it either Edited September 25, 2013 by mattyh001
jw1739
To misquote Ian Fleming: "Once is happenstance, twice is coincidence, three times is a pattern." I do not believe these training injuries are "luck' - there are simply too many of them. No, other than the freak incident involving Orlando, this is not luck. Our training methods and routines need to be changed. People ask why we don't have higher memberships and attendances. One contributing factor might be that we almost never get to see our strongest team actually on the field.

Murfy1
Coincidences and bad luck are not responsible for the majority of our injuries. Most of our injuries happen at training in predictable circumstances. Here's the statistics for injuries over the past 2 seasons: - 2011/2012 PFA A-League Injury Report - 2012/2013 PFA A-League Injury Report Also, most A-League clubs have had significantly less injuries since 2011, when 'minimum medical standards' were made mandatory. In comparison to other A-League clubs, Heart's amount of injuries per season has been constant, with no observable improvements. I'm surprised there has been so little pressure put on our physio group, as we do have a shocking injury record. Hopefully JVS can slightly improve our training routines when he returns to Melbourne in the next week or so, although our injury record was also unimpressive under him. I reckon there is a slight silver lining to this, though. We need to be playing either Golgol or Williams as our striker now, because one of those 2 players was bound to start as our striker in the Derby and in round 2, regardless of whether Mifsud was out due to injury or not (because he would have been away with Malta). Neither Golgol or Williams have had many, if any, minutes as our striker, and if either of them are to be a good backup striker to Mifsud, they need to start playing as our striker now.
