cadete
Not arguing that at all! Derby specials, particulatly the sponges and the ones that start chants annoy me as much as the next bloke, where they stand however does not. As long as they are singing like everyone else Look, non-derby games if theirs enough room, it doesn't worry me if you want to come and stand in yarraside. But in the last derby, it was so packed with specialists that i had to stand behind my mate, just to keep my spot in there. I'm not looking for a heap of room, but I should at least be able to have a seats-worth of space to chant, considering i am a season ticket holder. I hate being that 'bloke', but i was so squashed i had to ask ACG to check people's tickets (Not that it actually worked, as soon as i came back from getting a beer all those kids who had been kicked out had already snuck back in) It just ruins what should be a good night when i can't even move in my spot due to a couple of hardcore teens wanting to get some snaps on facebook. I was with you until you said this... even if they are specials you dont dob follow Heart fans into ACG.

Nope, i had just gone to the bathroom and two kids thought they had the right to sneak into my seat whilst i was gone, and their was an ACG security guard at the end of my ailse, before i walked in so i asked him to check their tickets and they were booted out. While other derbys i've gritted my teeth and just bared it, this was a special situation, and the fact these cunts thought they could just sneak into my spot whilst i was gone just pissed me off, and i thought i had every right to ask ACG to do their job. As i said previously though, they just snuck back in after i got my beer at half-time so it didn't matter anyway.

Contrast Australia - about 58,000. So if you think Indonesia is a real military threat to this country then you're going to have to do one hell of a lot to be effective against that threat. Pretty much put the country on a war footing. Won't be done because of ineptitude and laziness.
Shahanga
Agree guys but cancelling aid that helps break down barriers and remove ignorance (its a lot easier to hate someone you don't know) is not to the way to go. FB.
1. Australia's Military budget is already 5 times that of our foreign aid. Cutting foreign aid for military spending, is hardly going to allow for a "greatly expanded military" 2. We already have a well developed military. Our military spending puts us in the top dozen countries on earth. 3. There is no country on this planet that is capable of mounting a successful invasion of Australia as it is, apart from the United States. So WTF do we even need a larger military for?

I thought it was pretty clear stryder was just talking shit.End of the day, globalisation has eliminated most of the need for war, not too mention the nuclear weapons deterrent. So until there are effective anti-nuke defences, there is a nation or group of nations strong enough to to have a chance against the US and it's allies, and the gains from war outweigh the trillions of dollars that would be lost in the event of a world war, I think we're safe.So that pretty much eliminates any chance of a world war in at least a few decades.Even if there is a WW3, it won't involve trenches. A nation could be brought to its knees through cyber warfare, and most the actual fighting would be undertaken by unmaned vehicles. So it actually wouldn't be too far from playing a video game
