Which players are clubless and playing for their country? It will be a player that fits that criteria

Just searched through all of these teams squads:

Bolivia v Ecuador, Uruguay v Colombia, Venezuela v Peru*, Paraguay v Argentina, Macedonia v Scotland, Greece v Latvia, Austria v Ireland.

...and there are ZERO strikers who aren't contracted to a club.

Anyone know what other Internationals are on currently?

OK. So the only 3 players who played over the weekend for their country and are free agents AND are forwards are:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahmed_Saad_Osman - No thanks.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Mouloungui - No thanks.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ciprian_Marica - Please god yes.

Ciprian Marica I reckon. Played overnight in a 2-0 loss to Turkey. Currently without a club. Played for Schalke the last two seasons.

Kaiserslautern was a fairly decent team in Germany at the time, voted the best foreigner while at Lillestrom in Norway and scored a brace against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

He's not Lionel Messi, but he's a fuck tonne better player than a majority of the strikers in the A-League. And due to his diminutive size it'd mean we'd be forced to play the ball on the deck instead of firing into the clouds towards like last season.

Samaras? Would be huge!!

Doesn't play for the national team anymore.

Yes he does. He started in the match v Latvia last night/this morning.

Don't see Celtic letting him go, though.

Had a pretty good look at international free agent strikers and this (+ misfud) was about all I could find plus a few obscure Africans.

Patty G was an obscure African tbh and he turned out pretty good so wouldn't be that surprised to see us sign one of them, could easily be another Maycon though.

Doubt it's Marica because Arsenal want him.

Reckon Misfud is a good shout but if we sign him I'm pretty sure the club read this forum to do their scouting.

Otherwise we'll be paying a transfer fee (not that unrealistic, we were going to for Holt) or someone will be getting released by their club.

Michael Mifsud played both games for Malta against Denmark and Bulgaria and is clubless. Extremely well know in Malta. Add him to the list.

Stop teasing mate cause your giving me a Chubb lol.

Mentioned him earlier on in this forum a while back and would bring in the Maltese community coming to games.

I've even got mates who follow the scum that said they would pay to see him even if he played for us.

They would of either come on this forum or Scott Munn finally listened to my constant tweets to sign him up lol.

He already plays for the red and white of Malta so won't be a big change for him ;)

WOW I mentioned him earlier and it just clicked - Yossi Benayoun is clueless and is playing for Israel today against Russia. God I hope it's Benayoun!!!

Heard victory are interested in him

Victory are interested in everyone being their marquee

On another note, if we sign this striker, does it mean that we'll only have him until Engelaar returns?

Please let it be Mifsud, my girlfriend with Maltese ancestry might actually finally go to games with me

Seriously though, the bloke is an out-and-out striker with a strong goal scoring record, is yet another leader, has plenty of international experience and is 32, we've been crying out for a guy of this calibre!

SIGN HIM UP!

I'm guessing we'll use a bit of creative accounting to get a decent foreign player under the cap (e.g as a marquee injury replacement until Engelaar comes back and once that happens he'll be signed on minumum wage until the end of the season), so would presume we'll only sign a foreign striker, and go with 4 foreigners until Engelaar returns, thus enabling us to sign a higher calibre player than previously available under the cap.

Misfud would be huge!!! Got some Maltese mates who told be they'll jump from victory to heart if we sign him

Talk about fickle supporters! Does that mean they will swap back when he retires?

Seriously though either of these guys would be amazing for our club. When Ange said on Offsiders on Sunday that there will be news of a marquee signing coming out of Melbourne I assumed he was talking about Victory! Go Hearters!
