One Melburnian At a Time!

We seem to get a lot of people for derbies who hardly come back!

Hence why One Melburnian is so vital. There are people out there who support is enough to be a well supported club. They just don't turn up!

We really need these people and new people to not only attend derbies, but attend our other home games and more importantly, sign up as members! Really with this 3 game Flexi membership, there is no excuses anymore. You support this club, well truly support it!

Not just for derbies!

I have no trouble bringing anyone to a derby game, it's everything else that's important!

Typical human behaviour I'm afraid. Look at any tennis court around the place and you'll see people playing on it. A week after the AO the courts will be deserted until next year.

People are always fascinated by the big event.

It is funnnier when we consider that after wins we have crowd spikes, until the last derby we had won or drawn the last 4? or more and 2 of those had been great 3-2 wins ect and then they dont come back.

It spikes the trend of all our other form to attendance records does it not?

Plus the atmosphere at derbies is great, it is weird how nobody odes get converted,

Maybe it is just having someone you know lead the way and really encourage it? alot of the derby goers may just be that and go off their own accord and not have people pushing them to return, that is why onemelburnian is so strong, it creates that link through friendship and atmosphere to convert these part timers

Yeah need the core of our supporters leading the way and encouraging and bringing people to the game but also to the community! It's much easier that way to keep them coming back!

Anyway, we will keep on keeping on! Hopefully majority of our fans really push the 3 game membership to their family and friends for the next few games! No reason we can't achieve our goals!

If you haven't gotten behind One Melburnian please do! Need every single one of our fans to contribute! We are the core, we need to build our club!

I'm wearing my melbourne heart top to parramatta stadium tomorrow, I don't care if I get bashed lol

Love the dedication.

I reckon we should have a day when we all wear our heart tops n scarfs just out n about. Could u imagine if u were in the city for work or uni or whatever n u saw a bunch of people throughout the day wearing heart tops. Not a bad way of promoting the club.

Also not a bad way of getting to know other heart fans

How has everyone gone with One Melburnian this week? Any successes?

Any ideas from people on here on how to expand the reach of this initiative?

huge success gotten 7 of my mates to sign up and all will be present at the heart vs Perth game

Great effort. Make sure you're getting credit for head hunting.

Job well done.

Yep, I wear my HeartFC home match day top at lunchtime football in the Carlton Gardens near the Exhibition Building. Get comments and interest in coming to games. Good feeling running through the city with the top on promoting the club.

Awesome. Yeah I know what u mean. Might not be much but even if it encourages one person to sign up then it's done it's job.

But mum, I'm a casual!

You can still keep a bit of merch in the top drawer and wear it out and about on occasion.

Just not on match day it would appear. :)

:D

I still have a heart lanyard to hold my keys. That's my part of the clause ;) fwiw I have home away and third kits for posterity

Will keep my kits in the in the draw until they become hilariously dated before I wear them around town :D

I know its a Victory home game but i've managed to get 6 first timers to the derby tonight, hopefully its the start of something beautiful!

Same. 2 first timers in a group of 10. 7 rookies to derby active though. They know what to expect and they're pumped.

Starting with the pub. #OneMelburnian

How are all you getting 6 or 10. All my mates refuse to come cause they just hate soccer and love afl. Then the 1 i get to come ditches me like 10 minutes ago #ZeroMelbourneians

I'm not sure if ill go tonight, I've never gone to a game by myself

You won't be alone. Come to the pre game pub, you will have thousands with you.

Also perservierance is the only thing that gets people. Our passion rubs off to others. 3 new guys tonight, bringing them to the pre game, doing the march, sitting in away active area, they will fall in love like the others I have brought before!

#OneMelburnian works.

Good point ill be there, btw since i already have a ga ticket (my mate didn't want to sit in yarraside) and i don't really want to buy another so can i just sneak in with the march?

Also, I'll continue to be persistent, but these are tough people to crack. I couldn't get any of them to come to a soccer's match last year when i had a free ticket.

Perhaps try and get them to the pub some time and chatting to some of our guys that are big into afl. What team/s do they follow?

Thats a fine idea, but who do i introduce them to? I actually don't know anyone on here

That's the beauty of football my friend, you don't have to know anyone...at the start. You order a drink and start talking to someone else wearing red & white and I'm sure you'll make 37 new friends in 37 minutes! :-)

You don't have to convince me anymore, I'm already sold. Gonna be at the pub soon. What time is the march gonna start?

Good work! Try to sign up as members.

I'm talking to more workmates today for he $55 membership. Last chance to do it as three games left.

I'm gonna push this hard this week, club needs members not walk ins. Members commit to the club. Walk ins most experienced on Saturday night! Not saying yours will be or anyone's, but we have to create a membership based culture!
