Melbourne Heart FC buy out - Man City, Melbourne City FC, etc.

Murf, I'm not sure about this either. I'm finding it hard to accept that the lack of communications from Heart HQ is an embargo/heavy hand in Manchester issue, because I cannot see how that helps anyone into the future - City or Heart.

It could just be in the short term that Heart is being largely run from Manchester. It fits with the the much mentioned idea on this website that City don't like to comment on things until they are completed and can be announced.

I just remember the last "fan forum"/Q&A, that took place after Heart's 2nd last game at AAMI (against the Mariners). Scott Munn made a few hazy comments about the future, seemingly trying to generate buzz and excitement (which is hard to do when you offer next to no details, like he did). Then there was a quick and rather awful and uninformative Q&A between the unimpressive Heart AAMI Park announcer and Munn. And that was it, not a single question from the audience was tackled after our horror.

Last season Munn actually did a proper Q&A with supporters after a home game. It was actually quite impressive, as he fronted up to at least a few dozen disgruntled supporters who had questions. And like I said above, this time, post-takeover, no dialogue with supporters whatsoever. Why the change?

Also Munn and Didulica used to be active on twitter and regularly field questions from supporters. Now, post-takeover, Didulica's twitter account is private and Munn doesn't use twitter that much, and I haven't seen him say something informative on his twitter account for a very long time.

Munn and Didulica used to rather regularly speak to the media for newspaper articles, informing supporters generally about what the club is up to, like what players the club would like to keep, and what types of players the club would like to sign, and other matters. I can't remember the last time either Munn or Didulica spoke to the media to inform people what is happening with our club.

Even though Australian football supporters get much less news about their clubs than European football supporters, that doesn't necessarily mean Heart pre-takeover was "bad" with the media (arguably the bigger problem IMO is that Australian mainstream media gives short shift to the A-League and A-League clubs like Heart, often only giving them a pitiful few articles a week mid-season [compare that with the media saturation the AFL gets]). The Football Media Association Australia, which is made up of veteran football journalists like Ray Gatt, gave Heart the Club of the Year award, which is given for a club's "relationship with, and responsiveness to, the football media", twice (2011/12 and 2012/13). And surprise surprise this season Heart didn't win (CCM did).

"Impressed" is too strong a word to describe my judgement of Heart's media pre-takeover. I consider most of the club's social media really juvenile and banal. But the fact is we're not getting fan forums or Q&A's with Munn or Didulica now, nor are they passing on information to the media about the club's activities and plans. Munn and Didulica don't even say anything informative via Twitter anymore, after years of doing so. Since the takeover, the club's media and communication has really gotten worse. I'm pretty certain this season we didn't even get an end of season letter or email from Munn or the club.

I hope it's a short term thing, and after City and the club spring the changes the media improves, because the media and communication is clearly worse, supporters are being left in the dark, and I shouldn't have to say on this website that Mitchinson and Vrankovic have departed the club. Supporters who have stuck by this club deserve better.

Murfy as I have said before the reason why there is more news about New york is simply because they are a start up club with no existing fan base. They have to try and build up this fan base prior to the team kicking off the MLS season in 2016.

Where as Heart has an existing fan base and history. If changes want to be made they have to tread more carefully and get existing fans on board. So I don't think it is the fact they are ignoring Heart.

Now it can be said there should be more communication with the Heart fans group, which I would say is valid and I can only think that there is definitely been more discussion about name, colour etc in the corridor of powers that have prevented this happening.

I do think we will hear something before the end of the month.

Expecting a tidal wave of positive communications from our new overlords after MCFC win the league tonight

However if they choke and Luverpool win the shitty trophy we're in for a very dark period in our existence. Even worse than what JA inflicted during his reign of terror :hkpalm:

Why really HEARTinator..?

It´s not like there´s a single MCFC fan at executive level, somehow I feel that in itself its the foundation for the recent success

Diehard MCFC fans like say Peter Swales brought us to our knees more than once

Wearing a sky blue t-shirt at a Man City game doesn't confirm anything, but doesn't look great. Also not the entire team. Mauk and I think Garrucio are with the Young Socceroos and Iain Ramsay posted a picture on Instagram saying he was headed to LA just a couple of hours ago.

I don't know why people think they will hear anything by mid June/early July. This is not happening on the CFG timeline, this is happening on the FFA timeline as they control all decisions and will need to go through their own processes to approve any decisions of the new owners. This will take a long time as it has always done, doesn't matter how fast city wants to do things.

Well at least its nice to be owned by something succesful

There was always the option of being owned by the Oceania team of the century, South Melbourne Hellas :)

Yes - And some on this board were very open to such a move.

And finally now we will never have to even think about it
