Disgraceful crowds at Parramatta won't stop me from going back. From an urban renewal perspective, the CDB of Parramatta is quite nice, it's walkable and there seems to be a decent amount of retail activity occurring.

Parramatta stadium is pretty good, the perfect size for Wanderers. Interestingly enough, RBB have distanced themselves from the 'hools' that tried to have a crack at the Heart fans on Friday night. Make of that what you will, but I'll definitely be going back.

I'm not sure we have true second rival yet, but Perth must be pretty close.

If (when) I next go to Sydney for an away trip, it will definitely be for Sydney FC.

Went there last year and it was great. Obviously we won 4-0 which helped, but I had no problems with their fans, away fans get a whole end of the stadium to ourselves, plus it's walking distance from my Sydney accommodation, and don't have to take a train to crappy Parramatta.

I understand you wanting to go back Ando, but as a female, I don't want to be scared of going to a game.

I feel like WSW is just like the NSL, and a lot of them are just using the game as an excuse to fight, be idiots etc. Those fans walking past us on the way to the stadium looked so mean and scary!

Or you could have put a 'None' option in the poll, to keep its integrity, this way people feel obliged to vote.

There is no clear '2nd biggest rival', and if there were, this thread probably wouldn't exist.

(FWIW, not having a dig at all, just putting it out there.)

Keep it's integrity? Jesus christ mate this isn't a referendum, it's a forum poll ffs. No need to act all butthurt over a missing poll option. Evidently there are clear rivals for some after Victory or they wouldn't be posting here.

@belaguttman I understand hating/disliking teams isn't the same question as to who people consider a rival, but the first two feeds into the second and knowing that information will help in developing further rivalries & generating larger crowds/Away days for our club in the future. Which is what concerned me primarily when I created this thread.

I just have a completely irrational hatred for West Sydney. Is what I would have said before the game on Friday.

I believe it is quite rational now haha! Watching on tv and hearing the commentators froth over everything they did, and the way they pumped up the RBB annoyed me too. Makes it very hard to like them.

I agree, the commentators crapping on about how Western Sydney is the home of Australian football then the crapping on about the RBB then how good it is having a team in West Sydney who only got 8000 to their home game, when they are supposed to be in the 'heart land' I bet that when they play away to us and if they wear that away red and white strip Im going to hate them more because we had to wear red shorts just to stop a white shorts clash? for fucks sake. Oh and ono is useless a 700,000 a year corner taker. Oh and dont forget they are the NRMA, FFA Western Sydney Wanderers

I have to say I agree with Natalie...

I actually really do hate WSW now after what happened on Friday night and not so much for the "No Hope Crew" baiting us but the completely pathetic Security and Police at the ground - It was really was beyond a joke and someone could of been seriously hurt TBH.

Everything was inevitable, however as soon as it happened they instantly went into Liability Mode by somehow trying to heap blame on us for an incident that was at least 75% the fault the WSW Bumbag Crew.

There was always going to be an issue with away fans travelling to parra stadium.. I dont understand why away fans arent behind the southern end goals.. (underneath the scoreboard.. It isolates away supporters and keeps away the trouble makers away..

For some reason theyve decided to turn it into an alcohol free kids theme park with jumping castle out back and etc.

After events on friday, i do believe the best way to keep away fans safe is to place them behind the goals.. And keep them back after the game has finished for 30mins.. Regardless of what the opposition it is..

Im not sure when heart fans got released out of stadium? But i can imagine it was when the rbb got released, its as if the seccies and police want something to happen, it really isnt hard to hold back away fans ffs..

The cove got released at the same time as the rbb.. Prompted about 100 cops to escort them back to parramatta station.. Lol

Surprised WS is so high. tbh, what happened at the match probably would have happened against a lot of teams if the security was so poor in other stadiums and we were put in the same section as some of the more "radical" fans.

Nearly more people voted for them than actually travelled for the match...

Doubt it's just for that reason. Maybe cause they're the other new team, and they already have beaten us, which is kind of embarrassing.

I'd say the rivalry with the Wanderers will go over time as we play them more but at the moment I think it's Perth. Played them late last year over there and we beat them and then playing them in the finals and earlier this season and getting thumped made it our 'second biggest'. Obviously pales in comprison to the Victard rivalry.

  • 4 weeks later...

After that altercation between Aloisi and Burns, plus Ferguson striking back in the media trying to make Aloisi look like a piece of shit by saying he is disappointed with JA for what he did and that is not how a manger/coach should act. In a way trying to make JA look like a scum for getting involved.

Well I would proudly say; fuck the scottsman, he can just suck us all off and fuck right off back to the isolated corner of Australia and shed some more tears that he lost to us.

We were the underdogs and embarrassed them, keen to meet them in the finals and shit on them more.

Will be hoping for JA to give Ian Ferguson a polite kick to the mouth like a gentleman he is.

What do you mean by that? Despite popular belief the NSL did not have fights every week and just as it is now, incidents were blown way out of proportion by the media.. The quality of football was probably better than the current A league and apart from its last few years, the clubs were producing better players than current A league clubs are doing with barely any resources..

I agree that the NSL ran its course and it was time for change, but give the clubs some credit who supported football when it wasn't popular to like the game in this country and often brought ridicule.

In saying that did you attend WSW this earlier this season?

And did you attend Melbourne Knights last preseason and this preseason?
