urgh. a ) who gives a shit what the players think, get on with winning the fucken game b ) you will NEVER get 100% support from all fans for a song. so wtf is the point of changing something which afaik IS widely supported? c ) that being said, if it is going to be changed then what is the critieria? does that mean the club gets to make the final say? what if they pick the one song that no one is happy with? d ) are they going to change it AGAIN next season when people decide to complain again? look at 'i see red' - there's almost no support from fans for that to continue being played yet the club is sticking with it. last time they gave us a 'choice' of songs they gave us 4 shit top 40 commercial rock/rap songs and ditched the idea after two weeks. end well this will not.3 points

Don't really understand the difference between 1. and 2. In any case, what's the point of having a club song that changes every season? I thought we'd gone for "So Happy Together" and it seemed to be catching on a bit (whatever the colour of the sky) so WTF change it? I just think you lose people by changing things all the time. As for 3. and 4. I'm with KSK. Nothing. I don't resile from saying let the fans make the "matchday experience." It's a bloody football match and I don't need anyone to tell me how to enjoy myself.3 points

Jesus Christ what's with the songs. We're gunna sound like a bunch of pooftas. Let yarraside sing a chant for eg. Oh when the heart go marching in.... If the whole stadium sung that pre game it would be awesome. Even if it was a song pre game we all sing along to that would be great, but c'mon Bon jovi after a goal? Lol2 points

Shut up you. Anyone not keen on this should keep that to themselves. Whilst ill not be getting involved, I'd really hope that this actually improves Australia's NTsupport.2 points

Wasn't there for very long but it looked like a fairly good attendance. Prize for the longest autograph queue went to Harry, second place Michael Mifsud. Migliorini was there so his signature must be done or close. I think it's great that the club gives the photo opportunities for the kids with the players. Memo to Heart HQ: improve the signage please.2 points

At this stage and before spending time on something that appears to be pre-determined...it would be nice if I did actually get some feedback from the club on what I did submit for the last FRG meeting. Even an acknowledgement of the e-mail would be something. I also note that the address for e-mail comment on the "song" is not the same as the one for comment to the FRG. So, what group of people is going to consider any suggestions or comments put forward? TBH I'm not sure if I care about this stuff anyway. This the A-League, not the Eurovision Song Contest.2 points

At the end of the 08 GF, we were declared dead and buried by Dawks fans and the media alike. It was the start of a Dawks Three Peat. Five years on, we won two more flags and despite always making prelims bar last year some how now have easily one of the best crop of youngsters and missed the GF by a kick. I'm disappointed about Friday - But my club has and is already achieving what was considered by all the unachievable.2 points

How to take full advantage of JetStars Price Beat Guarantee to ensure the cheapest flights, every time. Guarantee: "If you find a published internet airfare from another airline that is lower than the lowest available comparable Jetstar fare on Jetstar.com, on the same route for a comparable time, we will beat that fare by 10%." The beauty of this is not only do you save 10% on the cheaper flight, you also pay no fees on your credit card which is usually $30. Step 1: Go to http://iwantthatflight.com.au Step 2: Select your Origin, Destination and Dates Step 3: Look for all flights from JetStar, then look for a second flight from any airline departing Within 1 hour of your selected flight. Step 4: Call JetStar's "Price Beat Guarantee" team on 1300 369 516. - You will be asked questeons regarding; time, date, destination, and the comparable flight. - You will also need to have your credit card ready. Step 5: Enjoy!1 point

Guessing we'll see a bump tomorrow from family day and the continuing Mifsud bump that stopped since I'm guessing the staff were getting family day ready. Also i just read on Munns twitter that he wants 6k by round one so i guess we finally have some sort of target from the club and i reckon we'll get there. Only about 50 a day.1 point

1. Player walk out track - Paradise City/Guns 'n' Roses 2. Pre-match club song 2 minutes before kick-off (last year it was ‘So Happy together’) - So Happy Together 3. Goal celebration track - Chase the sun or nothing at all 4. End of Game (Win) Track- So Happy Together1 point

then the club is going about it the wrong way. i know that's nothing directly to do with you, but if they can't utilize a rep group to communicate with fans regarding what the fans want, then what's the point of having the group deal with anything other than patting the club on the back and saying 'you're doing a great job' for fear of repercussion if the club don't like the viewpoint.1 point

under going a new set up of supporters on the yside grandstand, just doing a few tweeks of flag holders, re-applying 2 of the banners which were a bit weirdly shaped and thinking of applying a tifo and going back to the smoke stuff I added on the terrace. Probs make this as the semi tifo, only be half the terrace in length and cover one small bay of that half, but will have 2 figures leaning over holding on to it from the to stand and make it flow to the bottom1 point

My view is that for a club song (whatever it may be) to work, YS needs to lead the way, not an over amped PA.1 point

But but Peter, we have a representative group! They speak on behalf of the supporters, but they can't tell you what happens in the meetings because what happens in rep group stays in rep group. Just a hunch, but I get the feeling the rep group is a way for the club to out-source it's communication with supporters by having reps carry the work load of doing the Q&A and sifting questions, comments and ideas. Reps might be able to set me straight if my hunch is wrong. Hey Peter, the club do the grunt work in terms of setting the agenda and bringing topics, etc to the FRG for discussion1 point

Personally I think the main thing that should be focused on in a match-day atmosphere sense is for the club to work on encouraging the whole crowd to participate in active support at least at a basic level, and not just Yarraside. I hate the Wanderers as much as the next guy but nobody here can honestly tell me that the level of atmosphere when the RBB started to get the wings and the opposite end involved in chanting at home games wasn't amazing. But I definitely agree that the match-day atmosphere should be left up to the supporters to create, and not cheaply fabricated by the club.1 point

Please, panic merchants, calm down. To understand the FRG and how it operates, please read the Terms of Reference (posted earlier in the forum). Cadete, I understand the club is working to bring a Senior member of YS into the FRG, which if it happens, will be fantastic, as everyone surely agrees that YS is an awesome an important component of the club's being, especially when it comes to creating atmosphere ... YS are a really important part of everything the club is about. As i already said, the songs stuff is being run by the club. Anyone with an opinion on the matter should simply just email the club. Not being privy to YS's dealings with the club, I can only assume that the club will speak with YS before any songs are locked in.1 point

From the latest club e-mail .... FAN REPRESENTATIVE GROUP The Melbourne Heart FC Fan Representative Group met last night and commenced discussions on how the Club can enhance the Match Day experience for all fans. An update on the meeting from the perspective of the group will be available on our website next week. The background to the group's inauguration and progress can all be checked out here. http://www.footballaustralia.com.au/melbourneheart/news-display/Representative-Group-Newsletter/74341 CLUB SONGS A key part of making sure Melbourne Heart fans have the best match day experience is giving our members a say on what Club songs are played at AAMI Park. We are keen to select the right choice for everyone and this year Melbourne Heart FC players will also play a part in the process! We are looking for suggestions from members for the following music tracks for the 2013-14 season: 1. Player walk out track 2. Pre-match club song 2 minutes before kick-off (last year it was ‘So Happy together’) 3. Goal celebration track 4. End of Game (Win) Track Members can contribute to this important decision by emailing: membership@melbourneheartfc.com.au with ‘Club Song’ in the subject line with their suggestions. Once we receive a number of entries, we will garner feedback from our members through an online poll. It’s important to note that we will keep a bank of songs available for background music on match days so that fans can listen out for their chosen tunes! Additionally, you can send in links to your own music through soundcloud or on YouTube. A full match day update will be coming in the near future so watch this space!1 point

Qualifying final. We went on to beat Sydney and lost to the Pies by 3 points in the prelim. Collingwood beat us when it mattered, not Geelong. 10 home and away and a qualifying final vs a flag and prelim. (We won't mention the 80's) In fact you havent beaten us in a knock out situation for 50 years. Jeff Kennett was spot on and has been all along. What a genius.1 point

Am I the only person who printed off their derby ticket, read VISITOR active area & thought they'd bought the wrong ticket? The relief when I realised visitor was actually referring to us was something magical.1 point

Yeah, a very nice touch! And "signed" letter by Bolton :-D I am going to be a dad, for the first time, right before the derby and I don't think I can go to much games. Still, I really want to keep the membership going. Back being a fulltime student now so it is pretty cheap anyway! Congratulations mate! I just became a dad for the first time too and already got my little girl a baby membership, you should too if you know the sex and name, it's only $30 My wife's a member too, but I'm hoping when she can't make it coz of the baby that I'll still be 'allowed' to go! haha Good luck with everything!! Congrats to the both of you Funny cause I've already signed my baby up and he isnt even born yet hahaha My misses is due on Nov 3rd so could come any time around derby day (if early). Shes coming to the game, but not sitting in Yarraside (for obvious reasons) Said she doesnt want to miss this game for anything. Even wants to get there support earlt so she can sit over Yarraside in level 3 so she can here and see us. Would be very fitting if she went into labor right after the game as it was a drunken Derby Day that started this all in the first place hahahahaha1 point

Just released Amon Amarth album Deceiver of the Gods.... The song - We Shall Destroy https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSDuw7NsAHI This song has an awesome battle chant at about 3.00 minutes. Would work killer with the right drummer and would be unique ... maybe a bit like the Snoop chant that works so well. All are one And one is all Side by side The battle calls All are one And one is all Shield by shield We'll never fall1 point

Guys, a tune popped into my head the other day and I thought it might work well for us. Not quite as intense as some of our other tunes (and don't get me wrong, I like those), but I think still good nonetheless. Could be a good way to change up the tempo a bit. Interested to know your thoughts.... The chant is to the tunes "Forever young" Original lyrics - verse Forever young, I wanna be forever young, Do you really wanna live forever? Forever forever Forever young, I wanna be forever young, Do you really wanna live forever? Forever forever Here's my take on the tune for us Forever Heart, I'm gonna be forever Heart, Red n white I'm gonna be forever, Forever forever Forever Heart, I'm gonna be forever Heart, Red n white I'm gonna be forever, Forever forever Or alternatively.... Forever Heart, I'll always be forever Heart, Red n white I'll always be forever, Forever forever Forever Heart, I'll always be forever Heart, Red n white I'll always be forever, Forever forever1 point

Despite it being not the world's greatest song, we could do a chant to the sound of Bounce by Calvin Harris. Begin with everyone with their arms raised. Copy the sound the keyboard makes, then when there's the break between each section, you clap once. After going through the four sections once fully, everyone links arms and bounces for the next four sections. Eg. Do do do do do do do do *clap* Do do do do do do do do *clap* Do do do do do do do do do *clap* Do do do do do do do do *clap, then link arms and jump* Do do do do do do do do etc Nearly impossible to explain properly via phone, but does that make sense?1 point
