  1. IMO any calls for Wazza's head are completely unreasonable until it's beyond reasonable doubt that he's incapable of using the players at his disposal to best advantage. I doubt that he's had any significant input into the signings made so far, except for Carrusca - responsibility for the others lies firmly with Petrillo and CFG. He's not responsible for past signings either - such as Bouzanis on a 3-year contract, the exchange of Mauk for Malik, for the signing of Kamau etc. etc. He's not responsible for not signing an injury-replacement for Brandan (originally forecast to miss almost all of 2017-18). He's not responsible for the retention of Montemurro and Valkanis as assistant coaches. And so on and so on. Like many others I'm concerned about the performances so far. Conceding goals from penalties and free-kicks just outside the box, and our inability to do much creatively going forward. But IMO we have to give time for things to settle, especially if these three rumoured additional signings do eventuate. I hope I can remember this post and stick with Wazza until half-way through the season at least. The A-League can change very quickly, as Adelaide showed in 2015-16.

  2. Eh Im usually sceptical of shit like this, but I think for male mental health RUOK Day is just one of many things that help change the culture and get men to open up and talk. Like anything, theres going to be virtue signallers on facebook that tarnish it, but I think the overall message is a good one.

  3. 1. Seriously mate you know your arguments are thin when you start of with bloody "Tax Payers Money"... how much money did you think you are personally losing out the vote? Because if you use the largest possible figure given by the papers for the cost of this thing its less than Five Bucks - Which for a Puritan is probably good value to have something you detest so much to go away which wont go away otherwise. Do you honestly think with how much you are being triggered every day that these PPL will stop triggering you that if the Plebiscite loses that we are going to hear to less about this topic? 2. Of course Marriage has been religious throughout a lot of History but a lot other things were as well... Medicine and even more so Education were also pretty much strictly the domain of the church for so many generations. These institutions changed and you cant say it did not help the masses that it did. 3. Gays dislike religion? This is actually your dumbest point as in the past it was religious vocations that allowed Gay people to survive in societies were they were unable to be open about there sexuality. Not only this I have Gay relatives who are far more religious than I am... do some reading mate. You can start of by reading about Oscar Wilde and Andy Warhol on Wikipedia and then if you want to read an actual book check out "Brideshead Revisited".

  6. Well if that's how you play a "park the bus defensive counter attack" is played god help us. As soon as we went down 1:0 that strategy in knock out cup game is useless. And tbf Wazza changed it at the break. It's all well and good to come in with a defensive mindset but once you have the ball you need a plan and most times it won't be on the counter. Our midfield was pathetic and regardless of whatever system you employed we were doomed. And if we go into the season proper with Malik and La Rocca as holding mids and Kilkenny more advanced and leaving Brattan on the pine we are stuffed. Hopefully Wazza has recognized this and doesn't do it again.

  7. I'm opposite. Coping goals from frees and pens are more often than not avoidable. Rash or clumsy challenges in or around the box does my head in and in a battling side coach killers. La Rocca prime example. (Obvious referee blunders are of course a caveat) Being scored against from well worked opposition moves or high quality strikes is frustrating but preferable to me. But each to their own.

  10. fwiw i am not homophobic (one of my closest friends is gay. really, really gay -- even he doesn't give a stuff about this great clustercrap). i just think: 1- Its a legitimate waste of time and more importantly, money (high st is a mess and you're spending my tax money on what?) 2- marriage is a religious ideology (history depicts it so) and not just a "christian" ideology. 3- gays typically dislike religion, so why would they want to invest in a traditionally religious practice? the whole thing just reeks of left wing victimism. bloody trying to apply for a night shift role for extra cash and i see this: how don't i get triggered? jesus this is retarded

  11. I have a different spin, besides the obvious time saving factor, running or even better riding down a platform and JUST making it is worth the risk. Whenever I do it and make it my self esteem goes up to a level where I longer want to kill myself. Also, I reckon chicks respect men who run, you risk the humiliation and or injury but if you make it you can look at everyone on the train and think "fuck you all, you wanted me to fall over and rupture a testicle, yet here I am sipping my McCafe late with a plastic bag on my shoes so I can put my feet on the seat". Thats super alpha, pheromones n shit.

  12. To you honestly think if this gets up that these people will then go quiet and disappear? Surely they will just start attacking another bastion of Australian society. In fact they've already put their markers on 2, being Australia Day and Fathers Day. Supporting something to shut up activists is a really stupid strategy. If you support you support it, but don't use "shutting them up" as a reason.

  14. Serious question Cad, are you not worried that what has happened in other countries that have legalised same sex marriage might happen here in regards to Catholic (or other religion) schools being forced to teach about homosexuality and gender diversity? (apparently schools have been shut in other countries)

  15. If anything, I'd like to see Tongyik played defensive mid. He's good with the ball at his feet, and can dribble and pass. His positioning needs to improve to play central defence but with Bort and Jakobsen alongside him he might work.

  16. Explain to me how other clubs making a signing affects our strategy for building a team for the season? Keeping in mind we basically know Budzinski is simply held up due to visa issues.

  22. Interesting take. Obv no-one likes to see unnecessary fouls or pens given away in that area of the ground, but many of the ones at that level are born out of a necessity to stop a pretty decent goal-scoring opportunity. At the end of the day a free kick in particular is less risky to a defence than a through on goal shot; the attacking team still needs to put it in over a wall.

  25. Agreed. As a side note I'm a hell of a lot more comfortable with conceding goals via free kicks and pens than i am from open play. Those sort of things are swings and roundabouts imo. Sometimes there's just not a lot you can do in those situations, whereas getting ripped open in general play like last year is generally down to dreadful defending.

  26. They didn't even get out of second gear as we were that impotent going forward, we shit ourselves every time we actually had possession with either an errant pass or poor first touch. We wouldn't have scored even if Bruno had have played 90 minutes, our midfield play was that bad.
