It's an attack on free speech. It's collectivist crap. It's part of this 'right to not be offended' bullshit. It's part of this 'microaggression' culture. It's all part of the collectivist's attempts to blur the line between speech and action, to make offending someone with your speech the same as hitting someone. We all know violence is not acceptable in our society, and the collectivists want the same to apply to speech that offends.

Of course, what offends you is subjective, it's self-appointed victimhood, yet the push is for it to be the ultimate trump card, for it to defeat any attempts of reason and intellect.

And that's how freedom of speech will be lost.

Herp derp I'm a left wing collectivist retard, I am unable to defend any of my many incorrect beliefs and philosophies, so any time any of it is brought up I am offended and so all your attempts of intellect and reason are wrong and in fact you're 'microaggressing' me and should go to jail.

It is fascism. Left wing fascism.

Good thing that you have never been tortured. Or suffered from depression. Or had someone murdered. BTW how many females do you know that have been raped?

As @thisphantomfortress  points out If somebody does not want to participate in the discussion then they don't. Doesn't stop anyone else from participating.

Anger for angers sake by the look of things.

Bad wording there on Murder... but I get your point in that PPL should be able to opt out of such things.

In saying that somebody would find it very hard to just study History if they were too sensitive to hear about the things you have listed... or watch GOT for that matter.

The two things I actually learned in my history degree; baggage trains/ camp followers were a thing and rape, so, so much rape.

Yep - bad wording. History and Literature can be daunting for plenty enough people but there is enough that do study. I have to say I have a grudging admiration for Jews who study the Nazi period.

Im not against basing immigration policies on who or who doesnt integrate well, but domestically speaking I find it a bit silly that Muslims are copping all the heat when the Sudanese are causing a shit load more problems.

Aren't a lot of the Sudanese muslims? :hmm:

Blanket bans and all the other shit they propose re muslims is only going to make things worse, and is completely unfair imo. Needs to be handled much more delicately than that.
In saying that, the head in the sand morons that declare anything to do with dealing with the issue racist arent helping anyone either.

whatever happened to sticks and stones my break my bones but words will never hurt me.

the internet has a lot of explaining to do. people now only see and read like minded views especially and they are reinforced so whenever they go into the real world and see an opposing view they are overwhelmed and respond with anger/irrational behaviour.

it is the job of universities to teach critical thinking and respect for opposing, not what is right or wrong ethically/morally. facts, reason and logic do not exist anymore when it is against your opinion, no matter what side you are on, you will be labelled a bigot/racist/etc and that is not a free thinking western democratic society.

A Spectator Sunday meditation (for Waleed Aly)

Harry Spicer

30 October 2016

wordwasThe gender fluid and definitely not patriarchal Figurehead’s (if that doesn’t smack of privilege) Prayer

Our Waleed who art on The Project

Moral high ground be Thy game

Clementine Ford forgive us our white male shame

Thine segment come

Thine rant be done

Give us this day our daily pedestrian.tv endorsement and forgive us our sins (disagreeing with Thou)

But deliver us to The Project

Thousands sign petition demanding The Project apologise to guest host Steve Price

NOVEMBER 15, 201611:01AM

STEVE Price has told viewers to “get on with it” after thousands of people signed a petition demanding The Project apologise over his treatment during a fiery debate about the presidential election.

On Monday morning, more than 19,000 signatures had been added to a change.orgpetition, which states that: “Steve was abruptly cut off and insulted”.

It follows his appearance on the Channel Ten show last Wednesday night during a heated exchange with guest panellist Jamila Rizvi, who is also a news.com.au columnist.

But on The Project tonight, Mr Price took a brief moment at the beginning of the show to confirm he “did not feel bullied”.

“Can I say something upfront,” Mr Price said.

“A lot of people have been outraged on my behalf today. Someone started a petition that I know nothing about, media have been reporting stories I have been somehow bullied on this show last Wednesday night, the election special.

“I don’t feel I was bullied at -- bullied at all. I’m a big boy, I can look after myself, let’s get on with the program.”

“It shows you that people in real America, in small town America, weren’t buying the bulldust coming out of the elites,” Price said of Hillary Clinton’s loss to Donald Trump.

“Sorry, can we cut this bull**** about the idea of there being a ‘real America’?” Rizvi hit back.

“I’m sorry, I was speaking before you interrupted,” Price replied tersely.

“Is it OK if I speak?”

After Rizvi pointed out the question was directed at her, he appeared to become more annoyed.

“This is the reason why Donald Trump won,” he said.

“Because people like you lecture and heckle people.”

The audience, along with the rest of the panel were visibly shocked, issuing a “whoa” before co-host Carrie Bickmore stepped in.

“Pricey, we were talking to Jamila and you don’t need to keep that tone,” she reprimanded him.

But many viewers have blasted The Project, claiming it was Price who was wronged.

It goes on to demand a live apology from The Project presenters involved to “recognise that what happened was unacceptable”.

“Whether you are on the left, right, or somewhere in between, nobody should experience what Steve experienced,” it reads.

Pretty funny - glad to see a good outcome from Trump - people are now willing to give it to the media

I'm certainly not Price's biggest fan, but he's 100% right here. It's the left's fault that Donald Trump won because we've allowed our cause to be hijacked by agressive, arrogant, holier-than-thou idiots who refuse to listen to any other argument and counter any opposition to their opinion as racist, sexist, homophobic etc etc. People are sick of being told that their opinion is wrong and then being told that the reason it's wrong is because it just is. The art of debate and logical arguments has been lost and politics has become nothing but name-calling and faux outrage. The way Price was treated sums up the US election result perfectly.

This is truly spot on. My biggest annoyance is when someone from the left simply labels an individual as uneducated for having differing views.

What I dont get is every time an Election does not go there way the Regressive Left say the Electorate has been brainwashed (This use to happen a lot with Howard)...

Whatever happened to Socialists standing up for the masses rather than criticizing their intelligence?

Exactly. Hillary Clinton trying to win over the masses she wanted to represent and unite by calling half of them "deplorables" because their opinion differed to hers was a prime example of this.

EDIT: Obviously Clinton is not a socialist but you know what I mean...

What are you talking about? Can't you see them out there protesting the results of a democratic election...

I hate Trump with a passion but when Hillary only gets 48% of the vote from Catholics... you can tell the Democratic Party is way too far up its own arse.

I still think they should have found a (Sober/Clean) Kennedy and put them up instead.

I think they honestly beleive it. The funny thing is that most these people are suffering from a form of brainwashing themselves, its the thing I hate about the left and what I always talk about. The collectivist circle jerks where they reinforce how morally superior and correct they all are, drowning out and (metaphorically if not literally) shouting over the top of anyone that doesnt agree. They become completely indoctrinated by it and dont beleive there are actually people out there that disagree with them apart from a "far right minority". Then they see these election results and can only conclude that people have been brainwashed or it was rigged.

Its borderline a psychological illness if you ask me. I suppose I shouldn't  take pleasure in their dispear if that is the case, but they make it so damn hard with the way they go about being cunts the rest of the time.

Like I always say, I've got no problem with people being left wing or left of centre or whatever if theyre reasonable about it. But the majority of people to the left these days, at least those under 35, seem to fall into what ive described above.

This is a good point actually that I saw a lot of people mention after the US election. So many people go along thinking that everybody agrees with them because everywhere they look on social media they see people with the exact same views as them, so they assume that everyone must think that way. What a lot of people forget is that they choose who they follow or what they see. You curate your own social media feeds, so of course every opinion you see is going to be the same as yours. The amount of people I saw saying "every tweet I see is against Trump, how could he have won the election?" was ridiculous. Everyone forgets that the people who have different opinions are either not people that you choose to follow, or people who don't have social media. Your own social media feed is not a representation of the general population.

Yeah. Its not necessarily just on social  media and it's not necessarily just something related to politics either. In general, it's easy to forget the world is much bigger than you and your social group.

While I'm here, as much crap as Clementine Ford talks, I kind of respect her, because she is basically a professional troll which as Ive said before would probably be my dream job.

Of course she could just be retarded and I'm giving her too much credit thinking she is just a troll.

Just check flight facilities Facebook post following the election to see this in action. They said something entirely reasonable and ALL the comments are talking about how they can't say that because they are "privileged."

I also don't understand how the left has got the LGBTQ crowd so hyped up over Trump like they'd all be sent to concentration camps under him, he's probably the most queer friendly republican ever.
