grella has been training fully in the passed 10 days and is set to make his debut within the next 2 weeks... exciting news

You're excited ? we've heard this shit all before mate

Call me cynical but I agree.

We are getting bashed from pillar to post in the media so the club is trying to deflect with this news.

Munn was not budging on his stance that JA is the right guy to lead the team and our coaching structure is good enough to get us out of this. Made the example that Perth were second bottom last year at this point and ended up making a Grand Final. Said we made a mistake not taking Aziz and Garcia to Wellington.

Ok storm ridden, we enter 2013 and the club must make a stance. Not head in the sand stuff, show some balls and attack all facets. Make your mark this year.

Soon.

I wouldn't mind seeing JA play a 4-2-3-1; we might actually see Paddy G played in his preferred position so he can move up the field a little more. He's a destroyer in defense too. Garcia, Fred and Williams sitting behind Tadic. Perfect.

We'll win 3-1.

Crowd 6,500 (or 2,300).

They are closed during Xmas break and no response on twitter. Ticketek also said they cant help.

Not too fussed, Im sure they will do the right thing when the office opens up.

Go to the membership marquee on game day, you'll get in

Missed today due to being in Perth. Great to get another win, especially at home, where we need to get more results.

I thought Redmayne, apart from the penalty, was very solid and the save off Goodwin was top shelf stuff.

I thought our defence was once again solid, especially with Colosimo and Gerhardt back again.

Our midfield with Germano is far better, we can now finally string passes into the final third and that is when we are dangerous, because our attacking players are quite deadly when on song. Thompson had his best game of the season so far as well, which is encouraging.

I thought Tadic and Macallister held the ball up extremely well and played their roles really well, as did the wingers.

Overall great first half, good scrambling in the second half, but overall a great result

Completely gone into our shell this second half. Thompson backwards and sideways every time

I actually think Fred is the most symptomatic of our poor second halves. In our second halves whenever he gets the ball in an attacking position he holds on to it, waits, and then passes backwards to someone under pressure who is forced to pass back again until we have done the centre back switch. Even in the first half he is slow to take advantage of forward momentum but in the second half he backs even further off.

As a team though it's as if the halftime talk is pretty much "Park the bus". We come out so unimpressive and there is a complete shift from being this team that presses the opposition and is constantly fighting for possesion to one that is happy to sit back and wait to get the ball via a goalkick. Even our centre backs line up about 15m behind where they were in the first half, and when we do get it we are all so far back that we have no attacking options to pass too. I'm curious how much of it is to do with fitness, and if so why do we wait until the 75th-85th minute to make more changes than swap our striker? Surely it's at that point you take off Fred and someone and really try and get someone fresh on to continue to challenge an equally tired defence.

Was very happy with Redmayne today. The penalty was a bit of a damned if you do damned if you don't situation, but I enjoyed watching a keeper that didn't spend the match alternating between looking disinterested and abusing his defenders. Tom y untrained eye Redmayne seems to gather the ball well, and with his aerial work he really takes the ball cleanly at full stretch every time.

Thought Colosimo and Gerhardt were both quite good and mostly negated Heskey. Marrone was alright but I don't feel he actually did much with the ball, while that's probably the quietest game I've seen behich play for a while.

Mehbrahtu has been impressive this season, far beyond my expectations. His control is alot better than i gave him credit for, and his ability with set pieces has been great to watch. For the first time in 2 seasons I'm actually happy when we gain a set piece opportunity.

Germano was good sitting in front of the defence, and i thought Thompson played really well today. He didn't give up possesion unnecessarily as much as usual, and was fairly productive with his passes.

Garcia continues to be consistently good, and combined with Tadic means we have two attacking players that I feel really comfortable with on the ball. Thought Macallister also played his role well.

Our 11th win at AAMI Park. We were poor, Jets were worse. Again we had a very poor second half with an AWOL midfield, slow at transition too many back passes that were a result of having no forward options rather than clever back passes to create space. On a positive note, we were 2-1 up at half-time, just the sort of game we regularly lose this season so well done to the team but not really a performance to give heart to the fans. At least we won. :)

So went to my first game this season, and came with a mate, a potential new heart supporter and unfortunately the game wasn't the best viewing spectacle. Still though, AAMI park is really a beautiful stadium, and in weather like today it's a joyous day out, especially when you use said mates concession card and only fork out $16 for a ticket.

We are looking to go to the city for a feast once a month, so that will be a minimum of 1 game per month i think i'll head down to. Regarding the game, Fred annoys me, he thinks he knows which option is best, and often ignores the quick and easy choice, slowing down our play too much and resulting too often in the ball back to Gerhardt/Collosimo which inevitably is played back to the keeper.

Infact that is our play style 80% of the time and it's quiet frustrating to watch. A win is a win though, if we can beat Brisbane at home (we must at least draw) we can maybe be a sniff at the finals.

Aloisi is a slow learner - once more not a single defensive option on the bench.

Terrible second-half performance from us. The lack of team self-belief is palpable. At the end we were just like a boxer hanging on the ropes waiting for the bell.

Positives for me were Redmayne, Aziz, Gerhardt, Golgol, Tadic and Garcia. Colosimo was OK until his 'Mr. Bean' moments towards the end.

Yes, we won, but we were hardly impressive.

How many times did Colosimo attempt to clear the ball and kick it straight into a Jets player standing 1m from him? I lost count.
