  1. So Sakhi going and Jeggo coming in frees up a visa spot. This is critical as getting a starting quality left back at the last minute in January will be a lot easier (or to put it another way, actually possible) if we have the whole world to choose from. All in all it may not be a complete disaster, I guess the worst part of it is that it’s our Aziz, the club legend, who we have lost.
  2. I had given up on our season a long time ago. This deal just confirms that opinion is also held by the powers to be at the club. Going to be a painful few months whilst the remainder token games are played out.
  3. Yeah they looked like they’d met in the sheds before the game didn’t they. It was painful to watch.
  4. Largely insIpid second half. Anyway we got the chocolates. If you watched the tennis and went to bed instead I’d say it was a wise choice, despite the score suggesting otherwise.
  5. Strange half. We’ve looked pretty ordinary for most of it but thanks to a deflection early on and a great cross and Boyle header somehow we’re 2 ahead.
  6. What is required is indexation of tax levels, a massive drop in tax rates and a commensurate drop in the size of government
  7. This is actually good news. Shows our academy is producing good players
  8. Lucky he’s starting for us then. More seriously our best 3 wingers are injured. To be starting a quality winger now would mean we’d signed 5. How many starting quality wingers would sign for a club if they were fifth choice?
  9. It does suggest though he lined up the move before he left. Which makes the whole thing stranger and stranger. Most normal people would discuss signing a new contract with their partner before they did it. So her suddenly up and leaving and that being a problem for him seems to not fit the rest of the story. The series of events though did lead him to getting out of his contract with Auxerre. Perhaps that contract had onerous clauses? Anyway he’s gone now.
  10. So we play Indonesia. If we win (surely we will) we play the winner of Saudi Arabia and South Korea. South Korea are having a Barry Crocker. I thought they’d win the whole thing but they barely made it out of their group. WTF is going on with them?
  11. His message to fans sounds genuine. To be honest that’s the only thing that makes sense. If he was unhappy football wise he wouldn’t have signed the permanent deal, so it does seem like something has turned to shit back home.
  12. Well it’s fair to say we haven’t turned any heads but we are through and play (someone) Sunday.
  13. So we lost a club that was “a bit” of a shambles but we all felt we were part of and were personally invested in and replaced it with a well run but largely soulless machine that gives us success but we feel somewhat removed from. Which is better is a matter of personal preference I guess, but it is nice to actually win.
  14. Well if true this would be one out of the box. it’s not every day a player quits a fortnight after being given a contract extension.
  15. We looked like a football team after Nabbout came on. Have to hand that last goal to young Jordan Hall though. He left 2 blokes for Good to deal with, he needed to be more central for mine. Inexperience and lack of matches perhaps. Jamie does look a bit out of sorts. Maybe lacking a bit if belief to make the run. With his record though, I back him to come good.
  16. The APL fought like mad to get control, once they got it they didn’t deliver. It’s easy to criticise the (many) stuff ups but in truth it’s not a job i’d want to take on.
  17. I’ve liked what I’ve seen from him so far.
  18. Bump. For those who missed it, we play that well known football powerhouse, India, tonight.
  19. Spot on. The APL should be asking questions of both Roar and the stadium.
  20. His press conference had the ring of a man trying to protect his job. “The result didn’t reflect the performance” ”This has been the story of our season” ”Once again the officials let us down” Thin ice I reckon.
  21. You must be mistaken about the refereeing. According to “unlucky John” the refereeing was one of the key reasons why they lost this match. That and sheer bad luck of course.
  22. Vs Western United. 3. Jakolis 2. Sakhi 1. Souprayen (not the easiest task this week, for the opposite reason)
