  1. You are all forgetting that Jason Hoffman is a genuinely good bloke. If he played as well as he is a person he would be a very good player. Ease up on the personal attacks, keep it purely talent related, cheers.

  8. Hi folks, haven't been on the forum in a while so sorry if there is a thread dedicated to this topic already. Searched around for a bit and couldn't find one, so thought I'd just leave this here. I sent this email to the club in response to their request for feedback on the club songs for this season. I presume there are some similar opinions from people on here?

  18. Agreed. It's wrong of people to be taking it out on Hoffman. He was offered a contract - he accepted it. We can't blame him for doing that. And if he's selected in the team, he plays and does his best. We can't blame him for doing that. It's the same with any of the players. Any "blame" rests with the football department. I think that there are a number of good points here. having watched Hoffman develop over the last few seasons (or the distinct lack there of) i would find it concerning if he started against the mongs. but we do remember that it is still preseason and the club (for whatever reason) has re-signed Hoffman. for the most part, it could be the club just making the best of an awkward situation. in football it's easy to see the problem, harder to fix it - even guys like Kalmar and Nabbout (both coming from state league) still struggle for consistency in the A League. i hope that through all of this, the move of Hoffman to RB is just to provide competition there and provide extra cover but will just have to wait and see. personally, i woulda thought the club would have been better off going for Sam Gallagher in the off season and releasing Hoffman since Gallagher has both A League experience and actually is a defender but that is for the club to decide. and like marteaux Hoffman comes across as a good guy, just not that good on the field.

  19. See I have a different view. if you're the head coach, you're DA MAN. Your "support' should be the assistant coach. If neither are ready, then they should never have been appointed. Yes Heart are making the best of bad coaching situation by appointing Nus and JVS, but JA and Foxe were not ready, are not ready, and IMO we will end up with both being sacked by the middle of the season anyway.

Apparently this guy: http://gerardnus.com/background.php Sounds like a pretty good coach. As the article says, he was the head of the academy at Brighton and apart of Benitez's coaching team at Liverpool, so he should bring a good amount of coaching quality to Heart. Heart said they'd do more regarding our coaching department, so I'm pretty pleased with the appointments of Nus as assistant coach and JVS as technical director. Also, Aloisi has absolutely no excuses if he doesn't get results now.

  24. Yeah, I agree. So far so good with the whole Kewell thing. But the real test comes on the field. If he plays well and represents the club well as captain, and it remains all about the football instead of becoming a soap opera like last time, it could work really well for us. I don't mind admitting I was a massive sceptic, but so far, I think the club and Kewell have gone about it well. Anyway, 5,475 tonight. Looking good. To be closing in on something approaching 6,000 by round 1 is beyond my expectations after the way last season finished. To get there, keep pushing and getting the word out. Like we did with the One Melburnian thing last season, it's also up to us to help grow the club.

  26. You're certainly an optimist aren't you! Half realist / half optimist!! The big home crowd in Rd 2 is achievable if we beat the Visitards...plus, there's more hype this year. The big home crowd in Rd 5 is achievable because it's against WSW and Mifsud's first home game! Plus if we beat CCM in Rd 2 at home then that will give more supporters confidence of another home win in the "Big Red" so more of us will turn up! Anything can happen, we just have to win, and keep winning.

  27. If John Aloisi replaces an up and coming talent like Jeremy Walker with Jason Hoffman, then that tells me and I think plenty of other folks here who should be replaced. Let's wait till it happens, but I just don't believe that Jason Hoffman will be a starting eleven player in the Derby.

  32. Immature though it may be, does turning visitors merch in sports shops around the opposite way so that it is not visible, and covering their strip on a mannequin with one of ours, constitute representing the Heart?

  33. ...makes perfect sense to freeze out Walker, a young kid with geniune potential and raw talent who was one of our shining lights last year (remeber him taking it to ADP and directing Garcia during a game) to turn the Hoff into our No 1 RB. Good job JA. Definitely a move that aligns with the founding ethos of the club and will certainly send the right type of message to all supporters

  36. Thanks for the feedback, 'bud', but I'm not your 'honey'. It's true we won't ever please everyone, but SHT is a feel-good song that the majority seem to enjoy. The foundations of any tradition start from something that was no doubt viewed sceptically by some. We have to give it a chance to grow. Anyway, just my opinion.

  38. Anyone else sick of Facebook Politics yet? The New Government has not even sat yet and its fucken relentless, with half the crap being pretty much slander and gossip. You can really tell how these things were not really around in the Howard Years. Do these PPL really think they are going to change other PPL's political views by posting on the same site PPL use to like Box Gaps and Booty Pics?
