Tbitm
Noticed a rather unhealthy obsession with abandoned stadiums in this thread. Thought i'd comply with Pripyat stadium, Ukraine. Peter
Stadion Gjorče Petrov, Macedonia. Possibly the only stadium in the world that can boast its own chicken coop http://stadiumdb.com/stadiums/mkd/stadion_gjorce_petrov I just showed this one to my wife. After she smiled, she asked if they had the chickens so that they could throw eggs at the players. An interesting thought.

Woody
Saw a bit of the International Rules match on replay this afternoon whilst channel surfing and the stadium they were playing at was a cracker. AyeCee
Griffin Park - Brentford F.C Bonus Marks: Has a pub on every corner. Watched a match here today, gorgeous. I admire all the massive feats of engineering in regards to the large, modern stadiums, but nothing beats being able to smell the grass whilst standing in a small home terrace. Also a strange, almost comical sight watching thousands of people spill out into a quiet suburban street afterwards.

jw1739
Football in faraway places. You could be forgiven for thinking this ground is an Australian Rules ground somewhere here in Melbourne. But no, it is the home of Great Yarmouth F.C., Norfolk, England (Eastern Counties League). The grandstand dates from 1892.

KSK_47
Felt the stadium porn thread was the right spot for this... Not a bad looking stadium that. I was reading up about it yesterday and the architectural firm has come under fire being accused of ripping off the design for Tokyo's new National Olympic stadium. The firm claims the design was based on traditional fishing boats or something, but many are not convinced. Personally, I dont think the two designs are all that similar, Edited November 20, 2013 by KSK_47

But funnier Zaha Hadid, the world’s best-known female architect, is none too pleased with critics like Jon Stewart, who have mocked her Al Wakrah Stadium—designed with AECOM for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar—and likened her to the “Georgia O’Keeffe of things you can walk inside.” “It’s really embarrassing that they come up with nonsense like this,” Hadid tells TIME exclusively. “What are they saying? Everything with a hole in it is a vagina? That’s ridiculous.” http://newsfeed.time.com/2013/11/22/architect-zaha-hadid-fires-back-at-critics-of-her-so-called-vagina-stadium/
