TTDIM: The wisdom of Visitard supporters on 442 regarding the value of Mark Milligan:

He has 2 yrs still on his contract with MVFC. The NPV of that contract would be around $1m.

Plus, assume he's worth $1m/yr to the overseas club.

What is the transfer price for an alternative European/Sth American/African player of Milligan's category?

I'd guess we're looking at a transfer fee of $3-5m.

MVFC holds the asset & they're not willing to sell - so the buyer will have to make a very juicy bid

Strong knowledge of finance.

I could understand a rational that if his contract has an NPV of 1mil, then Victory are receiving more than 1m worth of benefit (assuming he has lived up to expectations they had when they offered him that deal). But too derive how much they'd be willing to sell for from that he'd have to know how much more benefit above the 1mil they pay him they receive. He just seems to be taking this 1mil and then adding how much the other club would be willing to pay. Whereas the amount the other club is willing to pay should be seen as a maximum, and the amount of benefit visitors receive above $1mil from Milligan is the minimum.

Not to mention I don't think using these theorys in the world of football is particularly relevant.

Someone thought they were smart but they're not. KY.

lol shoosh cadete you are so out of touch - all private school kids go to Bali now.

If I wasn't going to Byron I'd be left out due to 90% of my mates, private and non private schools, are going to Bryon.

Actually I recall my Brother telling that the North Shore Sydney kids are all going to Bali...

I went to Rottnest Island - It sucked balls.
