TTDIM: Things that don't irk me

TTDIM: Taking any fine I get to court even if there is no chance of getting off or paying less. If I have to pay, I might as well get my money's worth. Waste like $3k worth of administrative time and the court's time for only $300? Sounds like a deal to me.

lmao @ anyone at work reading this, working hard, then the government steals that money from you via taxation, then it goes to pay for me to troll the system. You mad?

You're fucking paying for me to have my fun, cheers

Reading at work; not mad glad. I'd rather it went to wasted court time than filthy socialist programs like education, roads and hospitals.

Was it for PT? I hear basically any myki related fine you take to court you end up getting off because they can't actually prove anything with how unreliable the myki machines are currently.

There aren't many ways of getting out of a speeding / red light fine.

The cop booked her for entering intersection on a red light.

Made her get her license reviewed twice which is a medical and eye test.

Represented herself, pleaded guilty to the offence (which she is adamant she didn't commit), judge was a good bloke and said you have done more than you needed to do and waived the fine.

The cop that booked her just wanted to be a cunt

TTDIM - Uber.

Usually the fraction of the price of a cab. Driver is usually up for a chat and the cars have always been spotless. Real time updates on your phone, no cash exchanged, a breakdown of your fare emailed to you and a feedback system. An all round win for consumers.

Used this in LA a couple of months back. A lot more common over their. So simple.

Getting pretty big over here in Melbourne and even Geelong.

Had one late on Saturday night and the bloke had bottled water and snacks waiting for us in the car for free. Will never catch a cab again if I can help it.

Can anyone shed some light on how Uber works compared to the normal taxi service?

You download the app and link your paypal account.

You create a profile or link it to facebook.

You enter where you are on the map and what exact address you want to go. You are given an estimate fair.

You order the uber  and a car will pop up on the map and you can see it in real time as it comes to pick you up. It will also have the profile of the driver along with a rating /5 aswel as what sort of car he is driving ie Jeep Wrangler.

You get in the car and the trip starts, you reach your destination and the trip is complete.

You are sent a bill via email for your fare which is taken from your paypal account and 80% goes to the driver.

You leave the driver a rating and he does the same for you.

*Driver's car must be newer than 6 years and have to have a police check. They work when they want. Fare price depends on demand for ubers. Almost always cheaper than a taxi. If you are a bad passenger you will get a bad rating and ubers won't pick you up. Every driver I've had has had over 4.9/5.

God bless the free market. Government trying so hard to destroy Uber and maintain the inefficient, low competition, taxi system designed to create excessive profits for taxi licence holders. But market forces are not easily stopped.

You should see the emails 730 report got from the qld government. Their mobiles to catch out the drivers keep getting blocked and they have to keep ordering more haha

It's not just that, Uber are bypassing the government's over regulation. The government won't want others to do the same so I am expecting an Iron fist sometime soon (as cutting regulations would be way too sensible) unless Uber can show they've jumped through all the hoops....

Well that's the best thing about it, the government has come at them, but their pockets are so deep they can fight it by paying the fines of drivers etc.

Fact is consumers are slowly getting used to it, and the longer it lasts the more likely there will be a public backlash to it being banned.

TTDIM: Nick Kyrgios' sister.

TTIM: Nick Kyrgios.

Maybe if Tomic wore fluro, had shit slits in his hair, broke racquets, abused the crowd and had 'swag' he would get crowd support down here. Actually wait, if he did any of those things he would be labelled a flog and a disgrace. Pewtch.

He's only 19 though, remember Tomic when he was younger was carrying on the same way, refusing to not have a hit around with hewitt and threatenting to not play for Australia. (his Dad was half the problem though i reckon)

Give Kyrigios a couple of years and he'll be alright.

Time has a funny way of making us mature. No doubt at all he will improve his attitude over the next few years. What he does have going for him is compared to Tomic at a similar age Kyrgios competes to the highest level every time he steps out on court. FWIW though I though this was Tomic best tournament both with his performance and attitude on the court and his attitude off the court.
