2014-15 MEMBERSHIPS

I heard today that active membership sales are well up from previous seasons (like every other membership) and we're close to selling enough to warrant expending bay 17 backwards which is what pretty much every active supporter has wanted for a long time.

So if you haven't decided on a membership type yet or have mates who haven't signed up yet I implore anyone who would like to see bay 17 expanded to sign up for an active membership.

Last Friday a week ago there still 190 spots in bay 16

Only less then 30 in 17 and 185 in 18

Today when I paid for 2 additional memberships in top row of bay18 middle bay was sold out apart for few spots scattered low.

Last season's members who haven't renewed their active spots better do so now as all seats are on the market.

This is the time where any dick with little kids and grandma can buy into active.

Btw we passed 6k mark

So do I. So either it's real or we both suffer from the same visual abnormality.

I see it too

Thanks for being so diligent.

Lovely lady on the phone was flat out today and assured me counter is behind.

So if you want to wait for the counter to turn.... Go ahead.

meanwhile I plan to have celebratory sex tonight

I had a membership last year (active) but haven't cancelled it but at the same time I haven't seen anything to say I have renewed it - Does it automatically roll over from last year? Silly question I know.

No

You have to call them to arrange a payment.

You are now membershipless

If we got 10k members by the start of the season, whats the possibility that they will need to open the upper tiers for round 2 especially?

With Villa playing, along with Lampard still being a possibility, I do wonder what the club has planned for this kind of added interest to ensure it can maximise the attendance.

^^ I guess though I wonder what the provisions in the contract are to open the upper tiers, with additional resources required.

It may well be a situation that the club will push for people to book early to ensure that there is not just a reliance to show up on the day.

If its full, and we are unable to open the upper tiers on the day, having people turned away its not going to be a good look for us.

Anyone know what the capacity is of the lower tiers only (current standard game day seating for our games)?

Probably around 14-15k. Against Sydney in 2012-13 (ADP factor), we had around 13k and it was almost full.

Think you'll find it's close to 20,000 without Level 3 being open.

Early in the piece my information was that there is a significant increase in hire cost if Level 3 is opened - security, and particularly post-match clean-up. It should be possible to open just one side of Level 3 though. But you wouldn't want to do it for just a handful of spectators.

I've rather have it closed and have the ends and wings packed in. Even if that means chucking a few lucky GA members in the wings on game day.

That Etihad member offer looks pretty tempting. Cheap return flights from Melbourne to Manchester (from $1518 economy), a ticket to Manchester City v Spurs or Swansea and if you wear Melbourne City colours to the game, they give you a new Nike home kit (presumably Manchester City) to take home. Definitely considering it. Probably wouldn't have the balls to see if the offer extended to rocking up in a Melbourne Heart shirt though.

No, they give you a new Melbourne City home kit to go to the game, and in return you pay Etihad Airways at least $1500... But who cares? Why on earth would you offer Melbourne City members something that means you miss a Melbourne City home match? This club seems to be doing everything possible so that members can't watch their team actually in Melbourne. Yes, I've had a bad day, but FFS how about encouraging people to watch us play here?

They would presumably advertise the fact that some Melbourne City fans have flown to the game and will use it as an advertising ploy to help their sponsors BT Sports by getting Man City supporters to watch their cousin on the other side of the world. If the timing was better I would take up the offer in a heartbeat, reasonable prices for a world class airline.

Can you not just go when the Aussie season is out?
