What does he really think of JAs coaching ability?

What does he think of the whole JA appointment?

What does he think of the current board?

To get honest answer to these questions you'd have to invite him to spearmint rhino then clean up a couple of bottles of tequila first.

What is wrong with the club culture or environment and how does he plan to address it?

Is he planning on sticking around to address it?

...and I'd have some specific questions in this bracket, such as:

- Have you been given a clear brief on what is expected of you as caretaker coach?

- We have a terrible away record, not having won outside Victoria since ... (whenever it was - so long I've forgotten) - why do you think this is and how do we plan to overcome it?

- Once we go behind in a match we find it very difficult to get back into the contest - now 23 matches since we've come from behind to actually win - again why do you think this is and how do we plan to change this?

- Why are we not making a genuine effort to release some of the players who are clearly not of the right standard, to make room for additions to the squad?

- Why doesn't the club look to sign a guest player for 10 matches?

- The club seems to have forsaken it's founding value of developing and promoting promising young players - for example we have players selected for under-age national teams who cannot get game-time in the A-League. Why is this?

- Has the club started a search for a new manager for next season and beyond, and where are we looking?

- Do you have a role in deciding which players will be released at the end of this season and who should be offered new contracts?

I wouldn't bother with questions because you're unlikely to get a truthful answer. He dresses smoothly and answers smoothly.

1/ Just tell him that he's got a terrible win-to-games-played ratio as a coach and that he should never have cost the club $700k/yr (with a cut for Cruyff) for such pathetic results.

2/ He blamed the players for "playing scared" when we were losing but it was his crappy game plan and organisation that was at fault.

Ask him to respond to those accusations :P

Given that he has worked internationally ask him the following:

1. What are the common things that motivate players across different leagues/countries?

2. What are peculiar or unique motivational tools that he has seen.

3. How does the culture of clubs vary?

4. How does he deal with talented but lazy/unmotivated players?

5. How does he deal with players that have excellent work ethic (even above and beyond) but lack talent?

6. What are the two biggest changes he has seen in the game over the course of his career?

7. What are the personal qualities that he looks for in a young player when he is hiring players?

8. Football has become more of a case that a coach dictates the way the team plays. In practice coaches inherit players that may not fit into that game plan. How should a coach adapt to the team that he has? This is particularly relevant to Oz.

- Why should supporters to continue to turn up for games, when there have been so many examples or players not hungry to win?

- Do you believe we can be successful with our current facilities?

- Clearly during this season some players have been playing lazy, unaccaountable football and look dissintereste at times. How do you justify paying these players, and why should they be given new contracts?

- Does the board have too much say into football matters?

- Can you outline what Melbourne Heart stands for? (if he replies with, it's a family club.......)

- Why have our youth players not developed into first team players?

- What returned have we achieved by selling our promising young players, such as C. Good?

- Where do you see the club in 10 years?
