Caddy
Out: Colosimo, Gerhardt (suspended) In: Gray, Vrankovic Reckon the boys will be absolutely spewing, will break our Cake tun duck against a not very impressive Nux side... ...or we'll see a completely diabolical, spineless performance coming down from a spirited derby display. Will the real MHFC please stand up?
xXJawsaXx
If we can bring that intensity into this game we should win, and win well. The Phoenix aren't looking too good. Disappointing that Gerhardt is out, but hopefully we can see Gray put in a solid performance if picked.
United
I hope, that for a change, we fire up as a result of a loss to Victory, rather than a win and fall flat on our ass the game after because we won 'our grand final' game. To lose in the manner we did, and against that mob, im hopeful we take it out on wellington and jets.

belaguttman
Well that's the thing about our team, we either play really well or really poorly. We've only played well away from Melbourne twice (Roar & Sydney last season), and never in Wellington. Its like the team has decided that it's going to lose and approaches the game with that philosophy. We need a sports psychologist to work with the team. Clearly we have the talent to win if we play with discipline and intensity for 90 minutes without switching off. I'd love to see it.
thedukeofhearts
when was the last time Gray played a game (obviously not seniors, but youth) He wasn't playing today according to the line up on twitter.
kingofhearts
Seriously why is this shit on a fucken thursday? The FFA must think we are all doll bludgers that have nothing better to do than watch a-league games
MTP
Wellington - 4 Melbourne - 1 Not a chance we will pick up a point this game, with our first 2 CB unavailable. The nix to run all over us to all but end our season(as if it isn't already). Looking forward to 2013-14 season now, hopefully a few of the youth kids can step up to permanent first team football. Che
PaddyG has pretty much been our best player, don't think we can win without him tbh, but i guess we'll see.

Hammerhead
Hopefully Vranks and Gray don't spend half the game playing kick to kick like Colosimo and Gerhardt.

Heart of Melbourne
We need to win this one. Gol Gol should start. His pace will trouble them. If we win the middle the game is ours. This is so important to win as we have two home games coming up. Could be the start of a winnig run.

This is so important to win as we have two home games coming up. Could be the start of a winnig run. Most important game of the season. Can't lose this one. We need to go on a run now, the performance was encouraging against Victory mainly because the intensity was up, we need that level here and to take our chances. Can't lose, draw won't help so its vital we need a win. I agree need to start GolGol.
sikre
Doesn't look good for us at all, with our 2 first choice CBs out and our very poor away form under Aloisi.. I'm predicting a 2-0 loss.
DutchPride
This is the worst fixture to watch in the league.
jw1739
agreed, we really need 2 big wins the next couple of weeks 15 games to go. Minimum 24 more points required to make top six. That's 8 wins or the equivalent thereof. So every game is critical from now on.
kontra.11
Gol Gol should start this game. Was great when he came on in the derby and his movement, speed and technique could provide something inventive upfront. Garcia is better in midfield. spain82
every game from now until march is must win for this club. squad wise, we're looking better, if we had just a stroke of luck sat nyt, we would have easily scored 4, but it didn't play out that way. we've almost got it right...just needs to click into place. predicting a draw. Footballism
530PM on a Thursday? The FFA really are a pack of Fuck wits. A draw wouldn't be a bad result tbh. Rocco Jones
Keep saying it but really hope we can how we use the bench. I am not a JA hater and find calls for him to be sacked in the short term ridiculous but IMO he is really struggling with the restricted A-League bench. Macallister on for Fred in last few mins in a good example. How often do we just use a sub/subs very late on JUST to get fresh legs, causing balance/structure issues? gundam
Melbourne Heart's festive season took a turn for the worse early on Boxing Day when its Croatian striker, Josip Tadic, was forbidden from flying to New Zealand with his team-mates for the Thursday clash with Wellington Phoenix. The forward did not have the requisite visa to travel, so had to wait at the airport while the rest of the Heart party took off. But club officials were able to make the necessary calls and to ensure the forward had the right papers to allow him to travel to across the ditch on a later flight early on Wednesday afternoon. Heart is already weakened by the loss of first choice centre backs Simon Colosimo and Patrick Gerhardt to suspension, while Socceroos Aziz Behich and Richard Garcia have been left in Melbourne to give them time to rest and recuperate following their busy schedule through December. Advertisement Irishman Steven Gray, a mature age recruit, is likely to be given a Heart debut in the centre of defence alongside teenager David Vrankovic. Jason Hoffman could come in for Garcia, while younger Sam Mitchinson, who deputised for Behich while the latter was with the Socceroos in Hong Kong, looks the obvious replacement at left back. Jeremy Walker, who impressed in a couple of games earlier in the year, and newcomer Ersin Kaya, have also been promoted to the matchday squad from the youth team.
