  1. I partly agree, as you said.... 1.You try to keep your talent. 2. And if you can't you need to replace them as best as you can. But why the mention of resources? This is my point. Resources has nothing to do with these two points you've made. They are separate entities in that they are not really dependant on each other. As you say you try to keep the talent. If you can't you replace them as best as you can. As to what benefit? Again slightly different outlook.... -CFG has made a profit which makes us viable as a club. This is important because our owners consider this important. Pretty simple. -As a club? Be known for attracting talent that will spend more time here than Arzani and could help win us the title. Arzani is definitely an outlier in the landscape. Most young talents won't spend 5 months in the senior sqaud then be sought after internationally. Most will spend that extra season with us. A perfect example of that is Mooy who stayed here with us an extra season and moved up into a marquee position. -One more benefit is hopefully in the future we will have a lot of former City youngsters in the national team. To me it would be a source of pride in this club that I have not experienced yet. Imagine. Melbourne City. The club that takes youngsters to represent the NT. That's a great image to have.

  3. The clubs resources have little to do with us supporters. It matters little to us if the club put in 50k or 5 million into developing him. Unless we have a large monetary input into funding his development and expect a return in results, which we don't, it's irrelevant to us how many resources have been used on him. All that matters is we have lost a very good player and now need to fill the hole. The only people that could make this comment is the resources (people) that are directly involved with assisting him for their own outcomes. Eg. Joyce has put in effort, time to help him develop to make his sqaud better and now Arzani has gone.

  4. You get a fair idea of where things stand with respect to actual decent football and decent football players when you see the fucking circus surrounding Usain Bolt and Central Coast Mariners. Just symptomatic of the way the public thinks these days. Gimmickry over quality. Sensationalism over fact. 30-second media grab over the long-term. Sad.

  5. Heard some rumour about CFG wanting Marchisio. Probably will not happen if it does it would be nice to see a talented player like him possibly making an impact on the A-League. Haven't seen a player like Marchisio play here since Mooy.

  6. That changes the preferred medium, but not the balance of what is carried by that medium. And I think you're over-simplifying the demographics. Look around the crowd at a football match and you'll see plenty of "older" people. @n i k o is right. The imbalance will continue until football gets its house in order and starts setting the agenda rather than reacting to someone else's. Much of what needs to be done is under our own control. I'm now in the habit of checking out New York City's web-site after they've played a match. They just pump the information out - highlights replays, fixtures, reports on injured players, management opinions etc. etc. - they really go out to grab your attention. Compare the sterile shit that comes out of FFA and its clubs. https://www.nycfc.com/ And I'll just add that I'm certainly not what you'd call "young."

  7. I don't accept it as being ok. Never have. But they will be this way for a bit longer until football in this country gets its shit together. Then through youI generations growing up hopefully it will change.

  13. Are you saying there's a lie from one article to another? It may be easier if you point out exactly what the lie is.

  18. What sort of chance is this Celtic loan move possible of going tits up and also what sort of chance is there of getting Arzani for another season? What gets overlooked most of the time is his ability to getting a working visa. He hasn't played enough at national level and doesn't have any European heritage. Fongers crossed Rogers get the arse and we get Daniel for a final season.

  19. But there are rumours of friction between Rogers and the blokes upstairs. There have been many stories of players being signed and coach gets sacked ahd the new coach don't rate the newly signed player. Being so young and untried at senior level this is a massive worry.

  21. A Almondvale Stadium, home of Livingston FC (Scottish League). Built 1995. All seating capacity 8,700. The building in the lower right-hand corner of the ground is the club's administrative building. A nice compact ground with adjoining car-parks and (looks like an all-weather) training pitch.
